No, technically you could fit some of the kits in there but a hot engine bay with probably no filters is not a good idea. Maybe you could make a custom set of plenums to draw air from where they have it setup now..don't know
Seems like the build could have been done better, no front air fenders, I prefer the rear fender rocker protectors, rear end doesn't look right, doesn't sound as good as it should IMO, but otherwise cool idea, maybe not done perfectly. I prefer a RUF, they do things right
I love it. This is the kind of build I enjoy watching. Hot rod modern style. The tuner markets will flourish with mods. Except Florida regions sorry Florida man no custom Porsche for you.
I know there’s a sho out there much like this one that takes Porsche cars that have been wrecked and/or have damaged engines and LS swap them while also keeping all the factory electronics working like stock. They’ve even built several with the LS7 and added twin turbos. Saying there’s more room for bigger turbos using the LS. During test drives they were extremely fast.
Definitely an awesome build, unfortunately rare aero kit...huh, tis a shame for anyone wanting one. So as an American from where the engine came from..the ls7 is good, but in THAT build I'd go all aftermarket, bigger bore, shorter stroke(3.622 or smaller), Frankenstein heads, fast intake...yes to titanium rods if N/A, Brain tooley racing prostock cam kit/ springs, etc...easy 8500rpm all day long, cam go to 10k with the right stroke and oiling. Would do a drysump(yes ls7 is factory). Easy 650hp to 800+ depending on camshaft/rpm amd overall displacement..maybe more and that should be with accessories
Everything looks great but the 997.1 tail lights don’t look right with that 997.2 rear end. The lights obviously aren’t for that bumper. Canards are a tad ricey for my taste, everything else is 👍🏼
I've been thinking about a LS7 for my 997 4s lol. I don't believe this is actually the first one ever done, there is one here in the US I've heard running around.
THE LS IS A REALLY COMPACT, BANG FOR BUCK TYPE OF POWERHOUSE THAT WEIGHS 300 TO 500 LBS BASED ON WHICH GM POWERPLANT IS USED..THAT MEANS SLIGHTLY TALLER THE BOXER ENGINE BUT NOT NESRLY AS WIDE.. ITS WHY THEY BUILT THE AIR FILTERS INTO THE REAR DECK LID HOOD AND I BET THIS CARS A SMIDGE LIGHTER WITH THIS ENGINE THAN THE ORIGINAL
@carbonfiber8071 I would imagine, I LS swapped a 944 and there is less room to service the steering shaft I guess. But all of the accessories are so much more accessible
Muscle car is a term from the 1960s , and it's simply meant that you ordered the big block V8 . 99% of what people call muscle cars now have a small block V8 which makes them not a muscle car . You can still buy a big block engine but only as a crate engine . Even a Texas speed 427 is still a small block based on the LS .
the muscle car term doesnt mean "an car with a big block" muscle cars were originally a mid size car with either a larger engine or an engine taken from a fullsize car, and no other upgrades.
If the engine is less than 700 hp , torque and engine sound would be the only benefit of the LS7 . The GT2RS engine would have fit nicely without all the modifications.
You are forgetting 2 major points. 1. Torque. Big increase. 2. The flat 6 in the turbos s and gt2rs is twin turboed. This is nearly 700 hp NA! Imagine removing the cats and squeezing in a set of twins. Or just squirt a 200 shot. 😮😮
It's certainly not the first LS swapped 997/996. Chavis Performance Engineering and Renegade Hybrids have been doing these for over 10 years. Not to mention 993/964 and G Body cars.
Thanks to the wonders of adjustable coilovers, we were able to lower the car for aesthetics during the shoot and then it was raised back up to driving height
So...all that talk about "turbo lag" is just media hype meant to condition people into paying more for a car with "no lag"...coz @ 08min, 17 Sec, I just witnessed Throttle Lag- u openned and closed the throttle and the revs only went up afterwards...just like every other car actually, but the mere fact that this delay exists without turbos shown that we r being bullshxtd by magicians- even with reaction to pain- i take about 2 seconds before I can feel the stove burning my hand yet when I touch it, its already hot- I think these engineering artists called auto- engineers are just able to store or are able to keep air from escaping the inlet systems and availing boosted air to compensate for this inevitable delay- thinking about it now, u could actually store extra air in the inlet manifold and keep it there using the boost pressure which is always above atmospheric level in the 1st place so air in the maifold wont escape...that the engine simply gulps down that air while the turbo catches up- in theory therefore, there should be enough air to feed the motor for at least 15 seconds coz even a 500cc cylinder really equates to 50cc once its compressed if we are to work with dynamic compression rather than static comp- and which is plenty enough to mask turbo-lag. Another media hype story, but that for another day when we deal with "0 - 65 Drag Times". also nonsense- coz only the 60ft matter and after that u start counting acceleration from 100mph-
That's like the 1 of xxx builds with these specific options in this color. Minutia, like they could have at least had something to set it apart from the regular LS Swapped 911s like a PDK
They sound a bit rubbish!?? What kind of sowing-macine boxters have you been driving? Ok the new ones got got rev-limiter, but when on the move, they sound just fine! If you want more sound upgrade the exhaust. No need to put more weight in the rear, just for sound.
Finally a proper Porsche!
Not the world's first but , one of the more well done builds . It's amazing.
That ls7 sounds good without the chop
Agreed, makes a nice change👌🏻
Surprised you didn't do a lopey cam to give it that muscle sound that american V8s are known for but otherwise great build.
wow I really like how it looks!
That sound just goes with the looks, that car is nice 👌
I’m at both Trax and GCF - can’t wait to see it!! 🤩
See you there!
There’s nothing more dominant than a European chassis and an American engine.
Amazing 💯🏁
Beautiful Build 😍
Thank you! 🤗
Is there good LS support in England? Ill be moving back soon and bringing my LS powered 3rd gen trans am with me.
Monaros and vxr8 came with ls engines in the uk

The LS7 is barely bigger than the standard LS engines. (dry sump to deal with also) Still smaller than the truck intakes and accessories.

Flat sixes sound great.
LS motors have a terrible firing order that really hampers their sound in comparison to other v8's.

The car was engine swapped because of the original suffering from the well known Porsche problem of the not so ‘perfect’ piston slap.
