I've now added The safekeep to my tbr, thank you for the recommendation, I hadn't heard about it before. My favorite book of september was A pale view of hills by Kazuo Ichiguro, what a debut!
I would love to hear your overall thoughts on the WOT. I have read the first 2 and haven't had the urge to pick up the third. I enjoyed the first 2 but then hearing about the slog and how big the books are I just am not sure it's going to be worth it 😂 which from the sounds of it you may agree!
Private Rites was a 5* for me too! Absolutely loved it! Love hearing all your opinions, we have such similar taste so I always know I'll come away with at least 5 books to add to my library reservations 😅
Yes to The Safe Keep! I’ve still got James, Creation Lake and Stone Yard Devotional to read from the shortlist but so far it would be my winner. Didn’t love Held or Orbital and was sad that My Friends missed out on placing 😢
Ooh yes I was really intrested in My Friends! Glad you agree on Orbital, and I'd be interested to see what you think of James, as you have similar opinions to me!
@@LydLoves I’m so excited to get to James! Percival Everett is my all-time favourite writer so I feel like I may enjoy it more than you did in the end, but he also has some misses in his back catalogue that went way over my head so anything is possible 🫣
i tried reading david copperfield a few years back but dnf-ed it because i got bored... maybe i need to revisit it. i really want to read tula by jurgis kunčinas, i suspect it would go so well with melancholy october vibe
ooh interesting, I really want to read James! Also that's Mariana Enriquez third horror short story collection she also wrote Things We Lost in the Fire. I read the Dangers of Smoking in Bed and thought it was okay, have you read Cursed Bunny? that's my favourite collection of short stories ever! :)
Yay I’m so pleased you loved David Copperfield! I need to read All My Rage next ❤
It was so good!!
