The big thing about this new Manager higher is not just coaching, but recruiting. There are so many Dual Nationals Canada has missed on…never mind Bono…how about Tomori, born in Calgary AB with dual citizenship to England, but unlikely he will ever feature in a Major tournament cap for England. What an amazing guaranteed Center Back option Canada would have had, and the player could have played in 2 World Cups and a Copa America. for England. The similar losses of Stefan Mitrovic, Flores, Morris. Now we need to recruit Kolyosho, Farsi, Jebbison who already have one foot out the door. Not worried about Marsch’s in-game management.

If Canada’s MLS owners and Canadian businesses funnel money directly to the team, they can sway dual nationals to play for the team in 2026.
They are emerging from the ashes of the last year & a half.

Jesse has been out of the game to attract any offers. He needed something and getting to lead a nation into the Copa America & World Cup after not having worked in nearly a year and a half (in what should be the prime of his career) is a golden opportunity.
He thought that he would get a new job 14 months ago, 12 months ago, some time during this past season and yet he continued to look for something above taking an MLS job. Canada 🇨🇦 going into a World Cup that they are co-hosting is better than an MLS job and better than a podcast.

@@luigismansionpro4276 I'm not sure Herdman smashed it - he came along when Canada was on the rise - you have great players now.
He simply played smart football. Safe 4-4-2 and 3-4-1-2 - basic soccer. He out coached Berhalter by sticking to a simple game plan.
I can see Marsch playing Davies and Tajon on the wings with David up top with all of them pressing like hell for 90 minutes.
A lot of us Americans root for Canada when they are not playing the States. I was screaming at the tv back in 21 when you guys took down Mexico.

@@tripperdelaluna1 I disagree about herdman, and I won’t deny that we are in a golden generation right now, I think he brought a winning mentality and professionalism that guided our men’s and women’s teams to great success. He was key in convincing duel nationals to join us like Stephan eustaqio, and has worked with integrating younger players into our rotation contantly. I’m not rooting against Jesse marsh, and I won’t pretend to know much about him, but John herdman did a lot of work outside of tactics that have helped to give me hope for Canada’s future in soccer.
Edit: I just read the thing you said about cheering for us over Mexico (thanks dude) and the whole “we aren’t rivals though” thing, and that’s weird. It’s weird because over here you guys are seen as a form of rival in many ways, or with more or less indifference (which I’m guilty of). I wonder if that’s because we see you as a football milestone to reach, or if it is all the Canada “little brother” jokes. I’m going to have to rethink some things, since a lot of Canadians go to American teams to prove themselves and it might be healthy to learn a bit more about you’re team!
