Fantastic review brother. McGuire is still my favorite Parker, but Holland is great. Loved seeing that my future wife Jennifer Connelly played Spidey's suit A.I., Karen. Keaton surprised the hell out of me. Agreed on the emotion part of your review. I think this one leaned a bit too much on the comedy side.
Drumdums Yeah man Keaton and Holland were awesome. The MCU needs to seriously tone down the jokes it's getting ridiculous. Didn't realize Connelly was the voice that's cool. Haha
Great review! I am glad we didn't retread the same ground with this Spider-Man. I really liked the new ground it took, it was a fresh take, and I liked that it was fun and light. I didn't mind the lack of emotion. There was one scene for me that was very emotional and was a great moment for Spider-Man. Other than that, I was honestly just glad it was pure fun. In some ways I agree that overall Marvel is tacking on a lot of comedy, but I really just enjoyed that in this movie in particular. I did miss the spider sense though. My friend in my spoiler talk has a theory on that, but the Spider sense is what I missed the most. But I did enjoy Karen. When it comes to some to the core of some side characters, I didn't read the comics growing up. So some of the side character changes didn't bother me, but only because I didn't know their core from the comic books. But I do, as a DC fan, fully understand the upset of changing the core of beloved characters.
Awesome review bro! Yeah I didnt like that they over did the jokes in critical moments. That got me a bit pissed off and OMG how could they do that to flash man. what the Hell were they thinking lol
Michael Keaton is one of the sexiest men ever! He is still my favorite Batman, the man is just a magnet. Let's not forget that he's also an amazing actor. I really loved Tom Holland in this. I was expecting him to be great, because of Civil War. Who I absolutely hated was the angst-stricken girl, cool girl, Zendaya. Hated her part. I think that the sidekick, Tony Stark and Spidey are enough for the comedy. Zendaya's part is pointless...
Metal Horror Pack I'm gonna do a ranking video. Probably won't review them all any time soon but I'd like to eventually. There's so many movies I want to do. Lol
I loved, but maybe i think i love so much because i went with very low expectations, and i liked the new high-school style, but i prefer the old ones and Amazing Spider-man 1.. Btw, i know your a Halloween-tradition fan and i would like you to recommend Trick'r Treat! If your into that, you'll love it, some call the best Halloween movie, was almost directed by Carpenter!
I think all the changes has to do with that we are in the third version of the character on the big screen since 2002. They dont want to make the same thing over and over.
TheAddeli They can do something different and still keep the spirit of those characters. These were different people entirely and some weird mishmash of Miles Morales and Peter Parker characters.
Cody Leach I agree but i think they have a plan with it. The girl with the initials MJ isn't mary jane, she has another name all together so i don't belive she is mary jane.
Cody Leach Yeah maybe they just didn't have to bring up that her initials are MJ or anything, just go with the New character with no connection at all with Mary Jane.
I liked this movie for the fun and at least keaton and the vulture was good and spiderman character was good. For me i didnt get the suit thing either, how he didnt have spider senses and more gadgets or whatever for his webs instead. One thing that kind of bothered me for some reason was that the old spiderman suit from the first trilogy had more detail in it and it made this one look too simple. And yeah i agree i wish the action scenes would have been a bit more intense
I don't understand how you think this movie is better than the amazing spider-man movies. Its less faithful to the character, action scenes are bland and has less drama
@@akai3974 MCU spidey has way more problems than just that. The Peter MJ romance literally comes out of nowhere, he’s got the worst aunt may out of all of them (her death got no emotion out of me). His best friend Ned, is just a rip of miles morales best friend Ganke. I could go on
@@calebmcclure3893 yeah like after the snap they just started to like each other it was weird and I’m very 50 50 on iron man like Ik he helps Spider-Man in the comics but his suit should be something he makes not Tony
I know this video's a half decade old, but correction: Peter Parker is in his sophomore year in this movie, not freshman year. Also Flash Thompson's actor is Hispanic, not Indian lol
I love the raimi trilogy and i agree Spiderman 3 is underrated i still love to this day but at least this movie is an improvement over the 2 shitty amazing Spiderman films fuck those movies!
In my opinion Spiderman one an two are great.I personally diddnt like 3.Amazing spiderman I thought was ok.Amazing spiderman 2 was honestly I dont even remember that movie. This film from your review sounds good but not great.I dont like the in name only characters. An im not a big vulture fan.But other then that sounds like a good movie.I dont have a problem with taking character liberties as long as there directors version is interesting an in some way captures part of the comic character. But from the sound of this these characters are totally different. At least Mary Janes character.
BoomStick Critique Yeah I know I'm one of the few Spiderman 3 defenders. I definitely put the Raimi movies above this one but it's miles better than the Amazing movies for sure.
Its all good man.Im glad you liked it.Im a defender of Leprechaun 3 lol.We all have certain movies we like that alot of people hate.Heck I like Batman v Superman. An its a comment blood bath when that films brought up lol.People either like it or hate it.
You and I both love the Raimi trilogy and hate the Amazing movies. With this one,well....not a bad movie, but I'm not really a fan of this MCU,Iron Man jr.,woke version.
I always said Tobeys Spiderman was the one but after I saw home coming.sorry man this is the Spiderman I grew.up with, sure he's got a hi tech suit but this is Spiderman and he makes his fucking web shooters thank you finally love Tom as Spidey, they brought him in perfectly nothing over the top and wasn't all over the fucking place like Garfield shitty Spiderman couldn't stand any of that shit hated.it , this is what we've been waiting for , Infinity war is gonna be amazing.
Yea first indication was all the racial changes to be PC so my expectations of the characters was higher. Of course MJ was not Mary Jane Watson but Michelle Jones. Her character was so odd in this film and yes she had no place in it. However in the sequel I learned to love her very much. Made me love Zendaya Coleman too. Anyway, one gripe is making Ned Leeds a 300lb Filipino guy who should be Miles Morales homeboy yes you’re right. And making Flash Thompson a spoiled rich 120lb Indian guy who is a pathetic little shit. Nothing against the actor himself it’s just the casting and writing. I’m black so I know all about preaching for equality but the way they did it in this film sometimes was so in your face it distracts too much from the plot like a lot of marvel movies these days. I have to remind myself often that in the end, this movie series is still the interpretation of someone’s work.

I agree on the lack of emotion. that's something that really bothered me
Robert Storms Me too...Spiderman is the last character you want to cut out the emotion and depth from.
Your subscribe here too, Rob. Awesome!
THE REVIEW I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!
...AND THE REVIEW WE DESERVE!!!

+Durbania Looking forward to your spoiler talk. I'm sure I'll enjoy this more on a 2nd viewing it just didn't quite meet my expectations.
I can understand why
To be honest, i saw this movie recently and i liked and enjoyed it. I had fun with it but i wasn't blown away by it i feel it was missing something
+Jorge Maldonado I feel the same way. I enjoyed it but didn't ever feel whole to me.
Too many changes is what refrains my interest in Spider-Man sorta…..
Awesome review bro! Yeah I didnt like that they over did the jokes in critical moments. That got me a bit pissed off and OMG how could they do that to flash man. what the Hell were they thinking lol
Locarbmonster Thanks man. Yeah Flash was bad enough but Spiderman is the last character that you want to rip all the emotion and depth from the story.

Good review Cody! Are you going to review the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies and the Marc Webb The Amazing Spider-Man movies?
Metal Horror Pack I'm gonna do a ranking video. Probably won't review them all any time soon but I'd like to eventually. There's so many movies I want to do. Lol
Top notch review
SCREEN STARS Thank you!

TheAddeli She's not Mary Jane but she's intended to take that characters place. The MJ initials make it uncomfortable and strange.
Cody Leach Yeah maybe they just didn't have to bring up that her initials are MJ or anything, just go with the New character with no connection at all with Mary Jane.
TheAddeli That's what I would greatly prefer they do!

The only thing I don’t like is he’s to tech base and his villains don’t feel like his until the end of the movie

Ah, I forgot that Ned was supposed to become the Hobgoblin!
Nice review
Movies: Reviews and rankings by Reese Thank you
Good review Cody, I'm new to your channel by the way. :)
+Kevin cubero Thanks man. Welcome to the madness! Lol
Will you review the rest of the Spider-Man movies
He has now
it wasn't too bad bit slow but it was done well
David Cottone It was enjoyable but flawed. You're right though it did drag for a while.
Well, at least this new Spider-Man movie is doing a lot better than the two pointless Amazing Spider-Man movies.
TG5455 True. Those movies were a waste of time. Looking forward to what comes after this just hope they reign it in.
I know this video's a half decade old, but correction: Peter Parker is in his sophomore year in this movie, not freshman year.
Also Flash Thompson's actor is Hispanic, not Indian lol
Really MCU had bad villains
Grant Ward
Kilgrave
Loki
Vulture
AIDA
Wilson Fisk
Can you do ranking of the spiderman movies?
Dark Dragon Yep doing one today actually. Keep an eye out
Awesome👏🏻😎🤩!

Aint that the truth.
that was the same scorpion from miles world. the fucked all the characters up. and that's why I dont like it
Robert Storms Yeah man they really toyed with every little thing they could. It was ridiculous and really distracting.
Cody Leach in a way it felt like more if a soft iron man reboot. I understand not showing uncle ben....but to not even mention him for a second?
Robert Storms Yeah they kept dancing around him like they didn't want to mention his name
Complaining about Flash Thompson being Flash Thompson.
Liking your own comment
Cody Leach well played
Cody Leach Didn’t mean that to be rude btw, I’m actually a big fan.
I highly agree. Sam's trilogy is still better than homecoming.

Flash Thompson was lame. This movie wasn't for traditionalist.
If they do have sequels, I hope they just have one villian @ a time. That's the only thing I didn't like about part 3 of the original trilogy.
Kevin Riley I imagine they'll keep it modest. Even in this one there was really one villain with a couple smaller villains as henchman.
Didn’t they use two different versions of shocker ?
+Nick Perkins Well there were two different guys but the same weapon
Cody Leach makes it a odd universe to live in with all this going on at once .
+Nick Perkins very
This was the worst one they ever made
Vulture's not a c-list villain. He's one of Spidey's major foes and even founded the Sinister Six.
Doc Ock founded sinister six dumbass
Actors were good. Too long and drawn out. Not every superhero movie needs to be 2:45 min.
+Dylan Thomas Yeah it was a little bloated
Thank god I couldnt have been the only one who hates flash hes so annoying
