I usually run 0 to 1 gauge wire from the battery no matter what amp I install. If I decide to upgrade my amp(s) later, I don’t want to worry about installing a heavier gauge wire.
Always recommend folks do this! Just make sure you are paying attention to the amperage and power you supply. For example a 130 alternator on 1200 watts because you have 1/0 all through the car is not a good idea something like 1000 maybe even 900 and under.. even with the big 3 upgrade. Upgraded electrical is always key to a great system.
Another outstanding and educational video! Thank you! I am still new to the channel, but do you have any recommendations on what and how to bolt or screw an amp rack to the back seat? Merry Christmas fam!
Mark, a common issue with adding an aftermarket system to a newer F150 (mine is a 2017) is a loss of the factory chimes from the speakers. It defaults to the single internal dash speaker. Is there a work around for this? I'm using the factory head unit with a Fix86, TWK88 and an Alpine PDX-V9.
I always preferred RJ-11 (phone line) control line type since most amps use it. Now my current amp that ive been using since 2011 does not have a control line but my LOC (active) device (LC2i pro) does, i luv it. I also had in the past a 2.5mm bass control line on an older LOC (passive) device & b4 that 1 a bass control know that used RCA, so RCA cable from the LOC to the front to the RCA bass control line, then another RCA cable back to the trunk but i didnt like that setup since you are sending the whole signal down a longer path.

Question, is there a end result difference between the hi and low level inputs? like does it effect the sound quality coming out of the amplifier?
