I have always had an interest in learning Portuguese, but I have been to afraid that it will interfere with my Spanish so it's been on the back burner for FIVE years! With plans to visit Brazil soon, now feels like the right time to jump in! This is a video series to see just how much Brazilian Portuguese I can learn in 90 days.

Waoaoaow! It's the longest I have listened to Portuguese and it's amazing how similar but different the two languages are!
Careful Doug, it’s a slippery slope! One days you’re impressed with how much you can understand, and the next day your 2 hours into your first Portuguese session 😆

Totally understood. Ive had spanish videos on youtube since 2009! Ive avoided português. Até agora! (Funny, as i typed it you said ate agora out loud LOL wth! I just thought of it for the first time because i know ate logo.)

Latin languages are very similar. Music is really helpful when trying to learn another language. Most English(Language) I know today I learned by watching movies/listening to music or playing video games, but of course my grammar is not that good (great).
A propósito seu Português é muito bom, fico feliz que as pessoas tenham interesse em aprender outros idiomas ainda mais quando estão planejando viajar para outro País.
Music and movies have been a big help for me too! It’s super motivating to revisit a song or film months later and understand more.. it’s a great way to track process.

me too, in funk, rap and fast rhythm musics i cant unsderstand the lyrics, enven in one or two listening times, i cant. But I understand when a read the lyric or listen many many times. Your favorite brazilian musician like MCs , Anita etc.. is hard for begginers, because they use a lot of expressions and slang . Try old musicians, old styles like Bossa Nova, Samba, Sertanejo raiz. Try Mundo Canibal is so funny (link below)

Wow that clip is.. interesante! 🤣 I do agree that the music is very difficult for beginners to understand, but I also believe it can still be beneficial to have incomprehensible input on in the background. Thanks for sharing that link!
