Hi Heide and captain Bonny, i started watching over 30 Narrowboat Channels and now for one reason and another i now only watch 5, yours is one of them, cause its fun slightly irreverent, like an old seaside postcard, and you don't spend 70% of your time moaning about the weather, love it, oh well bottoms up.

Dear Heidi & Bonnie - Just finished watching this weeks episode and must agree with you about jogging, something I’ve never been interested in! You did make us smile when you said a friend had asked you if you wanted to go for a run and you thought she’d said rum!! My husband loved the sound of chocolate rum and given me an idea for a present - must look out for it. We always worry about you being on you own so keep safe and all the very best and love to you both xx
When I had a boat (for 29 years back then) and now a caravan (8 years now) here in the Pacific Northwest of the USA, people told me that crooks hang out near cities and towns where there are lots of opportunities for crime ... they do NOT hang out, way out there in the peace and quiet of the world where there aren't many people about. I've found that to be true, seems you do too. Gorgeous music on that left turn, you are so good at writing music. Lord, I love your vlog! Thank you Heidi.
Once you get into running and increased your hardiness, running makes you feel good and there’s some satisfaction in running more than four miles (my run) without getting out of breath. When I first started running I could only run 1 block so I ran a block, walked a block, ran a block, etc. It took a while to build up but eventually I was running four and a half miles 7 days a week. Love your videos. I look forward to them every week. Love to Bonny too.
There sure seems to many types and styles of boats.But there is only one wonderfully talented and witty Captain Heidi and her Rum Wench!! I live in Oklahoma, so no canals and no narrowboats. I've had to procure a *fantasy* narrowboat (which are much cheaper than you might think). I've been struggling to settle on a name for it, but The Happy Jogger is a contender. After all, it's imaginary. Not real. Thank you, Heidi! Thank you, Bonny! Maybe when I settle on a name, I'll write a ditty about my pretend narrowboat and my unbelievable journeys through the Great Plains Canal System!
Followed your journeys since my wife and I with some of my family enjoyed our June Narrowboat Holiday. Looked back at some of your previous trips and we seem to have some things in common. Boats/ships you on Canals my wife and I on Sailing Ships mainly Brigs and Brigantines. Our love of history, you with your Pirates ourselves with Privateers. We represented William Dampier, a Privateer. Royal Navy man who lived 1651 to 1715 and Circumnavigated the world three times and wrote a book on each journey. Privateers and Pirates can steal things, but Privateers have permission to do so. We love animals and have two rescue cats. We love what you do and how you tell the various stories and Bonny is a hit plus we love your music.
You are so fortunate you get to drink while narrowboating. Here in Canada they are VERY much against any booze on the water (unless you are moored in a houseboat). They don't even let you drink when you are out on a frozen lake, doing ice fishing. Imagine, freezing your butt off, staring down an ice hole (don't be rude!), holding your little rod out(I'll not repeat myself about being rude), and not being able to have something to warm you up?
I agree about cities and towns, uncomfortable places. I've lived out in the woods for 48 years now. When I visit folks in town I'm always a bit on edge. I could never get into Jogging. not good for knees. A fast walk is better for burning the right calories. I battered up my knees being a dog musher for years. couldn't jog to save my life. Thanks again for taking us along.

Ahoy There, Me Heidi, thanks for amnother great weekly vlog. Just to clarify, like you im more of a lemon bun and brew person rather than a jogger (like you ive never swen a happy jogger lol). As for the Urban Splash developments on rhe cabal in Altrincham (the ones mum doesn't like), I lived in one for 9 months back in 2008. Expensive (the company i worked for paid for it) and nothing special to write home about (although i was lucky to have one with views over the canal). Fun fact, the guy that is credited with inventing the craze of jogging by writing a best selling book all about it in America Jim Fixx(not that one 😮) died from a heart attack while out for his daily run at the age of 52 RIP. I'm 70 now, but when I was in the Boy Scouts in an east Manchester pack, we went camping at Dunham Massey every year, we used to go swimming in the cut near the road bridge, and at night love to watch the flames from the gas terminals at Carrington, many moons ago mate.

Lovely to see the Bridgewater, lovely and wide, but as you say what a strange rule about only giving 7 days, yes it can get noisy in a city, out at Droylsden its buys and noisy, ear plugs are needed, looking forward to your next cruise keep well, safe travels

Oooh, lemon buns. I hope that had lemon curd in the middle? Love them. An iced bun is a much forgotten delight these days. Running? Nope! I used to be able to run in bursts, around a tennis, badminton or basketball court. But that was it. Never got why or how anyone can just keep running in a straight line. Some random joint or other would just dump me on the floor if I were to try it now. I don't like cities anymore. I grew up in Coventry but could not wait to leave it. And now I've finally just sold mum's house (last week) I have no further reason to go back there ever again! Unless she bribes me to go get her favourite sausages from the butcher over the road. Modern architecture leaves me cold. If it's not at least 300 years old I'm not likely to notice it. I love how your face lights up with a special sip of a really nice rum. Always makes me want one to try.

Thanks for the memory when i was young we had a boat or boats on the bridgeway in the 70s so many happy memories You even went past our old moorings at stretford. Just love watching your adventures.

Yes Heidi, I love a run, definitely puts a smile on my face 😃 being out in all the elements, wind in my face and frequently the rain too as I live in the west of Ireland ☔️ best exercise ever for me, running & swimming 👍
I was just curious what your RUclips was all about and viewed several. They are very interesting and sorta lazy and relaxing. I get to see places that I will never see except through your eyes. I am sure we see the relaxing stuff and you keep the more difficult aspects of boat life to yourself. Thank you!

Awesome vid as they always are. Certainly understand where your concerns come from when you park your boat near built up areas. It's like aircraft, fine to fly as they are but the inclusions of humans can change things lol. Keep your vids coming - always a source of enjoyment 👍

Hi Heidi! This one left me grinning, as your videos all do! I really like the fall from space zoom in at the beginning, and the little boat moving on the map. It really helps me to locate the canal in the wider landscape. Nicholson's alone is not exactly enough to navigate by! And thanks for the update on Bonny's world as a Pirate among dogs!
I used to love running! Loved it! Now I can’t due to a back injury but my wife absolutely can’t live without it. Yes, you get joy from it! I wouldn’t now though, lol.
Enjoyed your vlog! As a single woman, I know it pays to be aware of your surroundings and go with your gut. If a place doesn't feel right, you move on. If it feels okay, you stay. I'd like to know where your little custom music pieces are from. Heard them during the map graphic and a little here and there, with some nice male vocals. They're great fun, naming you and Bonny and the boat. Very much in the sea shanty style. Must say, the dolls were well behaved in that back cabin today. Hope there hasn't been a disagreement or anything. 😘
I agree Heidi. When we had our narrowboat holidays we’d go and look through towns, do our shopping but always tried to get out of town to a quiet, pretty spot for the night, didn’t always work and twice we found ourselves driving at night, that wasn’t fun, but we did find quiet, lovely places. With more experience we probably wouldn’t have been caught by the dark. We looked at wide beams just out of curiosity, I prefer the comfort and security of the narrowboat. HATE jigging and you’re right, they never run and smile, I’d never thought of that. I guess I’m a country bumpkin too then. Great video, cuddles to little Bonny, see you soon. ❤️

I used to run and I did it for the exercise and I enjoyed it to a point. Then my knees gave out and I switched to walking. That is much more enjoyable. Thanks for sharing again this week.

Love watching your channel and this time you were right by where I live near Dunham. I can see the boats on the canal from my recording studio window and have always loved canal boats and the idea of continuous cruising. My partner and I did hire a boat from Boothstown Marina a few years back and did an out and return to Lymm. It is a lovely canal especially on the rural section from Oldfield Brow to Lymm. I am lucky to have it as my regular walk, right on my doorstep. Looking forward to your next installment 👍

I'm 70 now, but when I was in the Boy Scouts in an east Manchester pack, we went camping at Dunham Massey every year, we used to go swimming in the cut near the road bridge, and at night love to watch the flames from the gas terminals at Carrington, many moons ago mate.

Lovely to see the Bridgewater, lovely and wide, but as you say what a strange rule about only giving 7 days, yes it can get noisy in a city, out at Droylsden its buys and noisy, ear plugs are needed, looking forward to your next cruise keep well, safe travels

Oooh, lemon buns. I hope that had lemon curd in the middle? Love them. An iced bun is a much forgotten delight these days.
Running? Nope! I used to be able to run in bursts, around a tennis, badminton or basketball court. But that was it. Never got why or how anyone can just keep running in a straight line. Some random joint or other would just dump me on the floor if I were to try it now.
I don't like cities anymore. I grew up in Coventry but could not wait to leave it. And now I've finally just sold mum's house (last week) I have no further reason to go back there ever again! Unless she bribes me to go get her favourite sausages from the butcher over the road. Modern architecture leaves me cold. If it's not at least 300 years old I'm not likely to notice it.
I love how your face lights up with a special sip of a really nice rum. Always makes me want one to try.

Enjoyed your vlog! As a single woman, I know it pays to be aware of your surroundings and go with your gut. If a place doesn't feel right, you move on. If it feels okay, you stay. I'd like to know where your little custom music pieces are from. Heard them during the map graphic and a little here and there, with some nice male vocals. They're great fun, naming you and Bonny and the boat. Very much in the sea shanty style. Must say, the dolls were well behaved in that back cabin today. Hope there hasn't been a disagreement or anything. 😘

I agree Heidi. When we had our narrowboat holidays we’d go and look through towns, do our shopping but always tried to get out of town to a quiet, pretty spot for the night, didn’t always work and twice we found ourselves driving at night, that wasn’t fun, but we did find quiet, lovely places. With more experience we probably wouldn’t have been caught by the dark. We looked at wide beams just out of curiosity, I prefer the comfort and security of the narrowboat. HATE jigging and you’re right, they never run and smile, I’d never thought of that. I guess I’m a country bumpkin too then. Great video, cuddles to little Bonny, see you soon. ❤️

Love watching your channel and this time you were right by where I live near Dunham. I can see the boats on the canal from my recording studio window and have always loved canal boats and the idea of continuous cruising. My partner and I did hire a boat from Boothstown Marina a few years back and did an out and return to Lymm. It is a lovely canal especially on the rural section from Oldfield Brow to Lymm. I am lucky to have it as my regular walk, right on my doorstep. Looking forward to your next installment 👍
