I'm a mix of both. When it comes to style, I'm more of the Classic Emo. When it comes to Music, I'm the new emo. I'm OBSESSED with Fall Out Boy, Twenty One Pilots, My Chemical Romance and Panic! At The Disco. But I do also listen to Sleeping With Sirens and Green Day sometimes.
UPDATE: I'm still obsessing over "The Emo Quartet" and Pierce The Veil, Sleeping With Sirens, Waterparks, Palaye Royale and All Time Low

i'm a fan of emo trinity and tøp but i have no idea why do people call them emo. they're good alternative rock bands but emo bands are for example bmth aa fir bvb ptv sws etc, i can't stand it when somebody only listen to tøp p!atd and is a fan of dan&phil and call yourself an emo kid.
being a part of their fandom is a cool thing, everybody should listen to music that they want to, but to me emo music doesn't mean this one
+kanima I completely understand where you're coming from, the whole 'new emo' term was a joke made up by Willow and myself really, I've always associated emo with heavy bands and metal etc, not with the softer stuff some bands of today play, if that makes any sense xx

kanima true. But BVB and PTV are not emo, they are metal. Same with SWS and stuff. Emo is Punk Rock with emotional lyrics and post hardcore. MCR does count, and AA is metal core which is close in some ways. But bands like Rites Of Springs, Jimmy Eat World, Saves The Day, Avion Roe, Embrace, From First To Last. Maybe you like some of those bands. And yes I would say BVB and stuff is not emo it's music emos listen to, you understand what I'm saying right?

Gabby Seaver I think that makes you a metalhead. Unless you are confusing genres and you listen to death metal, then you are a mix between metal and emo. I listen to nu metal which is often seen as emo, because metalheads and emos both tend to where black.
I used to be a Classic Emo and my cousin is a New Emo. But then i started reading Aji Prasetyo's books, and then it turned me into a hardcore Punk. But i still regain my Emo side, and so does my cousin.
