I’m at the stage I need something as am housebound and getting into a deep depression, I feel if I give in I have to admit find is here to stay. How are you so positive xxx
I'm so excited I can watch this on Tuesday in my country ^_^ Well you got Lenny laughing and crying in the same minute. I really love your honesty when you share highs and lows. Betty Blue is not only a personal assistant, she's like the grown up sexy version of BB8 from Star Wars ;) I was glad to meet her properly through this video, now I can see the basket bit where you can keep emergency snacks and definitely not hide things you're trying to steal. Have a great day on Saturday, I'd love to see some vlog from that. I'm so thankful for the people that be with me!
Lyn Oh Funny you should mention BB8!! Our daughter, Maddie mentioned calling her that yesterday! I told her she should call her that (secretly trying to get her to warm up about the idea) she said "OKAY!" PHEW. good start!
Suzie M So the weather forecast keeps getting less and less fabulous! a bit nervous! so far a lot of people have plans already so at least if it's a small turn out then my "not conducive to large parties" house should be OK lol
A friend invited me for a party, and he didn't want a gift or anything. He just said to either make or buy a dish or lots of snacks as his present (I found out later that even if everyone was to spend £5/$6.48 on a present, he would have spent more on food for the guests!). So maybe that would be a good way to think about it. There is a saying (commonly said within families) that a meal or item made was 'made with love', or that certain people who make certain meals, and they make it the best that anyone can has a 'magical ingredient in it, that's love'. Another saying said here regarding the making/constructing of food (please note the saying is metaphorical for the most part!), is 'made with blood, sweat, and tears'. Both mean that the person put in effort, energy, care, consideration, thought, and really wanted to do that. I am not saying that people need to be fed to be shown love, as you can abuse by overfeeding, just as you can abuse by underfeeding/not providing enough nutrients. The Italians tend to associate love with tables laden with tons of food, and more will be being made. However, despite the food being an aspect of love, it is simply an excuse to be around people that you love/care about and who you hope feel the same. Italians are stereotypically loud, and they say it shows that they have passion and care for people. They have big personalities and big energy presences, because of the nurture, support, and inclusiveness on a regular basis, that encourages them to not shy away. Why is it wrong for people to not buy you gifts that might be amazing or beautiful or expensive, but that you can't use because something like scent or pattern triggers a condition off or you're allergic to, or just doesn't connect with you right. If someone makes you something, then they usually will involve you in the making of it (e.g. scarf, you'd be asked about any reactions or tactic reactions to things, what patterns look pretty that they 'want to do', or you're in a 'yarn' shop with them and you're attracted to one particular one, or they ask you what colour is your favorite(s) in a yarn shop, or they have a semi joking convo about whether you're a scarf person or a snood/looped scarf person or whether you need scarves to be squishy and hug you, or be fashionable and standard, whether they should be long or short, whether you adore or love fringes/tassels/small or large pompoms/beads/sequins etc. They would have all this information already and then making it is kind of tailored to you specifically!). If they are spoonies, then all they need to do other than look in their cupboards for things that are nearing sell by and not likely to be eaten (including any things that could be a dip or condiment, or could easily be made into a condiment like thousand island dressing which is ketchup and mayonaise equal parts, and if they want to make it fancy add some fresh chopped and/or dried jar herbs) is pop to a cheapy store that sells things in bulk and buy just a couple of the cheapest pizzas or buy best value but bulk for things like snacks, sweets/candies/puddings, etc, or a disposable barbecue and some things for barbecuing (if you have an oven then it could be used instead if rain happens) that they could eat, or buy various non alcoholic drinks, and it would be a case of job done for both their meal(s) for the day, your birthday gift, and your dish request. People could also do a quick topup shop or weekly/fortnightly/monthly shop depending on if they go to a place they find is best for them.
Hiya, I've only just seen a neurologist on Thursday after having 8 months of symptoms. I've been on elbow crutches 10 yrs for ankle damage. They damaged my shoulders. Have you ever had an episode where you lost a few seconds. I was walking to catch a bus Friday home, and as I took a step it was like everything buildings, people, sky just disappeared just for 2-3 seconds. I don't know what my triggers are. Neurologist wants me to have a sleep apnea test for some odd reason.
+Kerrie McBride It takes time to learn your triggers and they can change. Sometimes folks are unable to figure them out. We would like to encourage you to check out some Facebook support groups such as FND Hope support groups which are full of great folks who share valuable info with each other. Best wishes in your efforts to understand and move forward in your life. If you don't use Facebook a similar community can be found on Healthunlocked.com/FNDHOPE
Are you able to knit or do things with your hands? If so, you can knit or crochet your own hat with it's own pattern, shape, fitted for you, and looking the way you want it. If you'd like some assistance and support in that strange world then feel free to message me and let me know (I know I sure had that 'eep this is new and scary' period!). You can find wool in 'thrift' stores or second hand stores, and if you can't see any in the store, then ask the person cos some people keep it in the back. You can use lots of colours and have all your favorite colours/favorite colours of spring. If you are able to do it, and you like doing it (or if you find it helps with wrist strength/fllexibility, grip, dexterity, grip, fine motor movements etc... There are fingerless glove things out there to both help support the hand and wrist, yet adds resistance so it supportively works out the muscles at the same time. The gloves are for things like computer work and typing, needlework, knitting, crochet, and tons more!). You could do a hat for each season with all the favorite colours/favorite colours of the season (and make it appropriate for each season such as light for summer, medium light/medium for spring and/or autumn, medium/medium heavy for autumn, medium heavy/heavy/very heavy for winter.
Phoenix Moon I've been considering this! I have a new dear friend from my church that shares my deep love of Seattle Mariners Baseball....and she knits. we talked about watching some games together....I'll see if she can teach me to knit too! I get fatigue with using a lot of muscle strength ie writing, coloring, chopping. I'll look into the gloves too! Thanks. PM(Phoenix Moon)
Are you able to crochet or knit? There are support glove things for knitting and crochet that oddly enough helps lessen the hand pain I would otherwise have if I remember to wear them BEFORE I work with yarn!

+Phoenix Moon I just realized this comment was held for me to approve as potential spam! Sorry! I'm reading it now! :)
No worries! It is good that your 'hold and wait to approve' thing (I want to say 'sieve' for some reason!) is working.
