      it's weird, the preview you see as you mouse over the timeline is fine, but then the actual video is over exposed.... maybe YT screwed their encoding :\

    very nice nest! I only own mini hearths, but this one might be a deal for the future
    kinda laughing, with a custom you can just ask them how you want it, this also goes for the decorations in the outworld :P
    I don't close the lid of the outworld fully, so it comes off easier
    and yes, like MinigunL5 says, your finger is ment to block the mesh, creating a vaccuum

  • @MinigunL5
    @MinigunL5 3 года назад +10

    You fill up the nestmates by putting your finger over the mesh.

    If you don’t know, that water tower pond is for humidity. Not hydration ☝️ You still need water feeders and test tubes to offer your ant colony water to drink 😤 The steel mesh pond is for the queen and her larvae and pupae to rest on

    Btw if you caught your Lasius flavus queen (assuming you are in the us or Canada) she is actually Lasius brevicornis/nearcticus aka the North American version of Lasius flavus

    • @antsanatomy1436
      @antsanatomy1436  3 года назад +3

      Get a new test tube and fill it up with purified water. Then get some tape and tape the 2 test tubes together. But make sure that you leave a small gap small enough so the ants cannot escape. Shine light over the old and put the new one in darkness and the queen should move.

    • @antsanatomy1436
      @antsanatomy1436  3 года назад

      Yes, if the queen moves in a couple of days or so then it should be fine but if she is still in the old test tube then you might want to let it air out for a bit. I personally use the tape method to reduce the stress from airing it out. If you are moving super small ants like pheidole then you should not have to worry about airing it. Plus they are escape artists so they might escape through holes in the tape.
