Your videos are outstanding. This process worked very well on a new Pixel 7 pro. A couple of things to note for people that are attempting this and are not super* familiar with how the phone transfers files from the PC to the Android device and back again. When you phone is attached to the PC via the USB cable you need to swipe down on the phone and tap on the "Charging this device via USB... Tap for more options" button. From there you must select the "File transfer / Android Auto selection. THEN you will see the Android device show up in your Windows "file explorer" under Devices and drives. One other thing is making sure you can locate the patched Magisk file ON the phone so you can copy it back over to the "ADB and Fastboot" folder. After patching the file - for some reason I had to disconnect my phone, and then reconnect it (by unplugging and then re-plugging the usb cable) for the patched file to show up in Solid Explorer on my phone. THEN it was an easy matter to copy it onto my PC. Excellent job on this video!
I've been rooting my Android phones for years. Each time I need to seek out a tutorial to remember the steps. Yours were hands-down the easiest and most straight forward. Also, I appreciate the slow tempo - keeps me from rewinding constantly.
much apologies for the late reply, ben. but I wanted to personally thank you for the donation and for the kind words. truly. it's comments like these that make it worth it :)
Thank you once again for making these kinds of videos. I'm glad to see the new Tensor chip doesn't stop us from having the option for root access. I'm looking forward to using this tutorial once I receive my Pixel 7 Pro.
Tensor has been very root-friendly so far (even the battery charging mods are compatible with last year's Tensor chip). let me know if you have any questions about the phone or if you want to see a specific video done about the device
@@uchuabaya you could try flashing the 'global version' via the factory images page (using the Android Flash Tool) if you use Chrome on the PC. I'm not familiar with this (but you will need an unlocked bootloader) so it may give an error when it tries
Thanks for this video! I was having problems trying to Root my Google Pixel 7 for hours and this fixed it! I tried to Root it using the old way like I normally would do with my Google Pixel 6 I would use the regular boot.img File but now I see that it's changed. I'm not sure why the other Tutorials Online say to use the boot.img File because that doesn't work anymore it makes it so your Phone won't even Boot. I hope soon they make a way to Root using Magisk with just your Phone itself and not a Computer that would sure be nice! But this method is pretty easy! Thanks for these great and helpful videos!
This is the exact reason why I force myself to buy the phones/tablets that I create videos for. I ran into the same issue you had with websites just copy/pasting the same step by step tutorials from last year's model and it ruined the trust I had in them. Doing these videos with the device in my hand helps to show people that I'm doing the exact same thing that I recommend and it shows that what I'm doing actually achieves the end-goal :) thanks for the kind words. Just showing my appreciation for this and your previous video showcasing unlocking the bootloader on the Panther and Cheetah. I'm not new to unlocking bootloaders, rooting, ROMs, kernels, ECT....but I am new to Pixels and how Google has changed where the kernel is now.....have owned Nexus' from the Galaxy Nexus through Nexus 6P, as well as a daily driver Samsung Note 2 through 5 including a Developer Edition, but moved clear across the country to where only Verizon worked and was pretty much forced to use only Samsung devices, so I've reluctantly used a Galaxy S9+ for the past 5yrs 😅 Finally decided to come back and get a Pixel, last Google was a 6P, now 7....so it kinda works out lol(unintentionally), but I needed both a little refresher and to be caught up on some of the file changes Google has made..... you could imagine my surprise while scouring XDA for the first time in over 5yrs searching "Pixel 7 recovery" or "Pixel 7 TWRP" or "Pixel 7 Phil'z" and not coming back with any results 😂 .... I've known about Magisk, but it "really" wasn't used for this for the Nexus. So again, thanks. Just a question, hopefully I can get answered before I start unlocking (I'm not in a rush to, I have updates turned off, I just bought during the sale), does unlocking or rooting with Magisk (or does he have safeties built in) to hide root from Google Pay or anything else that would check or break from root access? Anything that couldn't be fixed by removing root?
hello fellow Nexus friend :) my first phone from Google was the Nexus 4 since I was using iOS before that.I absolutely loved the Nexus 6P as well! I appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback, and your story. It's always nice to hear about other people's path throughout their Android journey. And welcome back! How are you liking the Pixel 7 so far? Sadly, XDA was sold off recently and I haven't seen the same fire with the new team as I used to see (I was a news writer for the XDA portal for a few years, too). Yea, Magisk is a bit different than SuperSU and many things have changed since then. It's sad to not see the developer community as not active as it once was. I think the whole CyanogenMod going corporate (and then imploding) really did some damage. once you unlock the bootloader you will immediately begin failing the full SafetyNet checks. Some apps (like some banking apps) will refuse to open if you are failing certain levels of the SafetyNet check. Some are okay if you only have the bootloader unlocked but will then fail if you install magisk/root the phone. As of right now, there is a way for you to hide all of this and pass those SafetyNet checks - ruclips.net/video/yaeAz_8OsJg/видео.html That video will help you get that set up. But know that this is a cat/mouse game and Google could push out an update that invalidates that patch. It's done a good job so far, but if you're 100% reliant on something that requires safetynet to pass (like Google Pay) then you may want to proceed with caution. I will also point out that Google is currently working on something to replace SafetyNet and it will be much harder for us to bypass. It's being tested right now - developer.android.com/training/safetynet/deprecation-timeline This could just be continuing the cat/mouse game or it could put the final nail in the coffin. However, unlike Samsung phones, Google Pixel phone can be reset (return to 100% stock) and then the bootloader can be relocked. This will let you pass those SafetyNet/Play Integrity API checks again since they aren't reliant on a hardware fuse (like Samsung KNOX uses)
Thank you for this, can’t wait to try it out! I really hope you make a tutorial on how to update and keep root on this device in the near future. I feel like im going to confuse myself with the init_boot file for future updates, but hey hopefully there will be a video to reference back on. Cheers!
THANK YOU SO MUCHHHH! I LITERALLY SPENT 5 HOURS FRUSTRATED TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG, COME TO FIND OUT THE TUTORIALS I WATCHED WERE FOR OLDER PIXELS WHERE YOU MODIFIED THE REGULAR BOOT IMAGE!

Thank you so so much! I just wanted to say, this helps a lot, rather than just reading a guide. I need advice though. I have never had experience in rooting phones, and I just got a pixel 7. I am a bit afraid to do it but I know I can. Its just a matter of confidence. Thank you! You made the process much easier.
@@ExplainingAndroid haha, thanks! I just have a question, I've heard.of people doing a custom recovery in case something goes wrong, but I am confused as to what that is. What exactly is a custom recovery?
@@edwardferrari7342 a custom recovery would replace the software/menu you see when you boot the phone into 'recovery mode' those custom recovery options (twrp, lineageos recovery, etc) tend to have additional features to them (like creating backups of your android/application data) so for example, if you were going to install a new OTA update, there's a chance that it could bootloop the phone (when you're rooted). so it can be a smart thing to create a 'full backup' using a program like TWRP just in case that update goes wrong (if it bootloops the phone, you boot into recovery mode and restore your data from the backup). but twrp can be finicky on new phones and the people behind it just got a version released for Android 12 (so official support for Android 13 could take a while). unofficial builds do sometimes appear on XDA, but they sometimes have bugs and stuff. if you stick with the stock recovery option, and end up in a bootloop, you end up having to do a factory reset/flash the firmware via fastboot mode, which wipes out all of your personal data. that can suck if you're not backing up your stuff in the cloud
@@ExplainingAndroid Wow, thank you so much for the detailed info! I see now... That explains the confusion I had with what TWRP was as well. Thanks so much, I actually understand everything now, you earned a new sub, and you deserve many more! I'm still nervous to root my pixel so I will wait a bit to do it. Thanks so much!
that's great to hear! thanks so much for this feedback. I know a lot of people are going to be installing the new security update and curious if this still works
Just a friendly advice, don't take this as an attack or as a judgment, but just an advice for you to improve your content (from my way to see things) : You should really think about cutting your videos, in order to have less unnecessary long moment, and just go straight to the point For real, when i go to youtube to search for a guide, i'm really looking for the shortest video possible guide with a maximum of informations, and usualy when it comes for smartphones guide, you only find videos in hindi. There's not enough content in english, so imagine my frustration when i double check every videos to find what i need, and i only find yours, wich has exactly what i need but with waaaaaay too many long moments, i'm going crazy smashing my "->" key to go to the moment i need Other than that, thank you for the help you provide !!
I appreciate the feedback. But I do hope you understand who my target audience is. There are places for quick bullet point tutorials (like XDA) for those who already have a grasp on what they're doing. When I started creating tutorial (for my website, that I ended up selling, but continued with the RUclips channel), my goal was to create walkthroughs for people who got ran off of XDA for being a "noob" and "asking simple questions." I do apologize to folks like yourself who need to press the skip button so many times, or those who feel the need to play my videos at 1.5X speed. But you all have the tools available to you to help you get to the points you're looking for. If I were to create videos that gloss over important details, then I leave out a big portion of the audience I'm creating for. I can't add in context for those people unless they leave a comment and then I end up having to spend time that I don't have to answer those questions. Honestly, I do understand your frustration. I even tried starting a channel called 'Explaining Android Quickly' where I would cut out all of those long moments you mention. But it just wasn't gaining enough traction for me to justify the time spent. I do try to go back and add in step by step bullet points in the video description (for those looking for those important moments) and hope the chapters, manual controls, and the playback speed features are enough for those people who want to get right to the point.
I have a pixel 7 (non PRO) unlocked in US but it failed remote partition not found. all I did was change the last fastboot command to (fastboot flash init_boot_a) and (fastboot flash init_boot_b) everything else i followed exactly the same he talks about it in the video mine was both partitions for some reason finally got root access. Thank you so much for the great guide.

Wonderful tutorials. As someone new to the world of rooting, here are some topics I'd love to see you cover for the Pixel 7 given your style of spelling things out for newbies like me: 1) How to access banking apps that check for rooted phones. 2) How to restore everything to factory settings (as if you never rooted your phone before) if you wanted to sell your phone or send it in for warranty work. Many, many thanks! #subscribed
Hi! Sorry for the late reply (comments get lost in the crowd every now and then) So for #1, I have this video that should get your phone working with those banking apps - ruclips.net/video/yaeAz_8OsJg/видео.html for #2 - you'd want to follow this guide - ruclips.net/video/fZgQNMhgWuM/видео.html thanks for subscribing!
@@ExplainingAndroid thanks so much for the guidance. One last question, while I have your attention: I'm unsure if I need a custom kernel and OS or just the ability to root and then install magisk modules... I like many of the Google features, but what really gets to me is the inability to charge to a certain battery percentage and have it stay there with the charger plugged in. Of course, being able to under clock for better battery life would be a bonus as well. But I'm just unsure if I need to go the full route of custom kernel and OS to get this or...
I do have plans of creating a video exactly about that. There are likely to be multiple options available, each with varying complexity. So I do hope to get those update videos out as soon as possible (I may even downgrade to last month's security update just so I can demonstrate how the process is done without having to wait until next month)
if by any chance anyone has an issue where it says "partition init_boot not found", the fix is to add _a or _b (depending on active partition, it shows in the fastboot menu on your phone) to the init_boot part of your command. it should either read init_boot_a or init_boot_b. that should do the trick.
Do I understand right, that no factory reset is neccessary? I always rooted my phones before the Pixel 7 and had to do this. Also I have a question you might be able to answer. The reason I want to root my Pixel 7 is that my favorite app, Volume Styles, does not work on Android 13 anymore. With this app you can change your volume slider style to your preference. I really hate the volume style of Google. I came from the OnePlus 7 Pro where they have perfected it. So I especially use this app because I could easily switch the media output from Headphone to speaker within the volume slider - a feature that is sooo incredibly underrated and convinient. I miss this feature everyday since I got the Pixel 7 in October. I'm literally thinking about it each and every day. Now the the problem: For the media output change to work you need to give access to androids accessibilty services. At first the app works and I can change my volume sliders but as soon as I want to change the media output, the app crashes. Same goes for another app that could do that until Android 13. The way I see it, Google denies the accessability services to change the media output and causes the app to crash. After restarting the app I need to allow accesibility services again. In the settings it then says "This service is malfunctioning". In a Android blog I've read that Google is restricting accessibility services since Android 13 since they want to you mess around as little as possible with the system. So if I root my Pixel and grant the app full access to the phone, do you think it could fix this problem?
correct, you saw in the video that I was able to root the phone without losing any of the data. you just have to have the bootloader unlocked first (if yours is still locked, that will wipe your data, though) I can't say for sure (since I'm not familiar with this app) but the app itself will need to be built with root access in mind (if it were to bypass this new Android 13 restriction). root access itself won't help anything if the app hasn't been coded to leverage that type of escalated privileges is this the app you're talking about - play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tombayley.volumepanel ? I'm not seeing any mention of root in the app description, so I'm not sure if that will change anything have you contacted the dev about this android 13 change? maybe they have something they're working on, or have an idea as to how you can workaround this issue?
@@ExplainingAndroid Thanks for reading my roman. Yes this is the app I am talking about. The dev has a forum where the community can post bugs/issues/wishes etc. This problem has been mentioned plenty of times there, unfortunately he never gave a response. The app hasn't been updated since June 2022, by that time Android 13 hasn't been stable released yet. Man why does google have to do me dirty like this. There's probably no way to bypass a restriction like that, right? Anyways thanks alot for your detailed response! :)
@@sherluk_homs there should be a way to bypass this limitation, but the app needs to be developed with root access in mind. are there any alternative apps that offer this feature?
Hi man! I used your video a week ago to root my Pixel 7 Pro and it worked amazingly so I have to thank you for that. Just wanted to ask, will you be doing a video on how to update to the latest OTA while keeping root/data/etc? I've been trying the regular method Magisk explains with the "Restore images" option in the Magisk uninstall process before doing the OTA, but mine says "stock backup does not exist" and I'm not sure what to do. Thanks again!!
Did you open powershell thru the pc file or through the phone? It says Android\Google\Pixel 7 Pro on yours but min s says Users\C2SDK\ Downloads, My issue is that tab auto completed the result keeps saying fastboot : The term fastboot is not recognized as the name of cdlet, function, script, or possible file. Solved, thanks your video was very helpful! Just drag and drop Magisk file from desktop straight into Ad fastboot after Init_Boot and start your flash! Tab button only works for powershell but ad fastboot can do the exact same thing if you just drag and drop it.😊
Great guide so far. Just stuck with how you have jumped to the google android pixel 7 pro directory for the img file when you said make sure its moved to the same folder as the adb and fastboot? Any help would be awesome, thanks.
I feel lost on those parts and I'm stuck because I think I didn't copy the magisk file to the right place. Or I'm using the wrong command folder. Idk. I'm so frustrated
Shift + right click inside the folder. Select open powershell here. You can also switch to CMD from powershell by typing cmd in powershell if you ever need.
i have tried this method 3 times now, every time i try a go back flashing the android stock firmware beacause i keep failing the saftey net or integrity tests. FML.
Hi I'm just wondering if I can unlock the bootloader and rooted my P7, unlock 5G connectivity (since I come from an unsupported country, Google sort of disabled us from using 5G), then lock the bootloader and basically unroot the phone again. Will the 5G connection still work? Or do I have to keep its bootloader unlocked and rooted?
Hello brother i need your help, i recently updated to Android 14 however i messed up by flashing the patched boot.img using this command fastboot flash boot MagiskPatched.img instead of using init_boot, now when i try the proper way gives me an error saying (remote: 'failed to flash partition (init_boot_b): -8') fastboot: error: Command failed any advice on how can i revert what i messed up is really appreciated, i need my root back :(
I was reading another article about rooting and unlocking the bootloader on the Pixel 7. it said that doing this will wipe any data on your Pixel 7 device but you didn't mention anything about wiping data. My question is now can this be done without wiping the phone?
this video is about the rooting process only, and that does not require anything to be reset. but you're right, rooting does require the bootloader to be unlocked first (and that does indeed factory reset the phone). this is mentioned in my bootloader unlock tutorial
@@ExplainingAndroid Another question. I did the steps you preformed, now the phone says it couldn't install the system update, which is I asume because of that patched init_boot I flashed. Would flashing the unpatched init_boot using the same method fix the ability to receive software updates? ( i am aware doing that would effectively unroot the phone.) And then I can reflash my patched init_boot?
I don't know. I have never had to replace the display on my Pixel 7. Are you sure you reconnected the fingerprint sensor when you put it all back together?
I followed the video and got no errors; however Magisk says Installed N/A. I have tried it several times and I always get the same result on my Pixel 7 Pro. Any Ideas what could be happening here? Thanks
you want to connect the phone to the PC with a USB cable. enable file transfer mode (via the notification that appears) and then you can drag/drop or copy/paste the file to the pixel 7
@@ExplainingAndroid Thank you very much for the quick reply! It turns out there is an issue with my PC drivers and i just cant recognize/connect to the phone. The video didn't really skip over anything like i had thought. It would have been obvious if my pc was working haha

if you bought the pixel from AT&T, they do lock it down with their modified version of the firmware. you're better off buying it from the Google Store and then getting it added to your att plan

watch through the video. I talk about where that img file is. there are two files needing to be extracted in order to find that img file (the zip file you download from google needs to be extracted, and then there's another zip file within it that needs to be extracted) also, make sure you're downloading the full ROM firmware and not just the OTA update firmware
@@ExplainingAndroid oh, apologies, but I figured it out. I was downloading the wrong .zip. The one I had downloaded, the only folder that was inside it, was a META folder. But I found the right one. Great video man!
it prevents you from installing OTA updates through the normal 'system update' process. however, if you look at my google pixel 7 playlist on the channel (or do a search) you'll find a video I did that shows you how to install new updates using the android flash tool while keeping all of your data and then easily flashing Magisk to regain root access

you're missing the file if you believe it's not in that firmware download. I just downloaded the TQ1A.230205.002 firmware you mentioned, for the Pixel 7 Pro (just like I have in this video) and the init_boot.img file is in that firmware download. when you extract the contents, you'll find a file named image-cheetah-tq1a.230205.002.zip, you then want to extract that file and in there you'll find the init_boot.img file

I hope they release lineage os or proton asop with this. It's a shame pixel 6 didn't get many custom roms so why do I think android 13 pixel custom roms won't be around as much?
The reason why google phones do not get that many custom roms is probably because the stock software is already very good because it is basically stock android and that's what lineage os and other custom roms are most of the time
Instructions unclear :( I gave up after starting all over again 9 times. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. How do I know which version my pixel 7 pro is running? There are over 30 different patches available on the Google website between Oct 2022 and Mar 2024. Am I correct to think my device automatically runs the newest version after unlocking the bootloader it did factory reset right? So it might be the version it had back when it was manufactured? Also at some point, I'm supposed to copy the patched file back to my computer, I feel confident I followed the steps until then correctly, given I got the correct version of the Google website of course, sigh... because I do not have a clue... Hello, thanks for your video. It's very good. I bought a Pixel 7 pro and 5G does not work in my country, Chile, despite the fact that the N78 band is one of the supported bands. My previous phones have been Xiaomi Mi 11 and then Mi 12 with which I have been able to use the 5G signal in any of the local operator networks. I think you'll want to follow my google pixel 6 root tutorial. this process will work, but the pixel 7 modifies the init.boot.img file rather than the regular boot.img file that (I believe) the pixel 6 series uses the steps will be similar to this video, but you're patching a different file and flashing it to a different partition

Doing these videos with the device in my hand helps to show people that I'm doing the exact same thing that I recommend and it shows that what I'm doing actually achieves the end-goal :)

Just showing my appreciation for this and your previous video showcasing unlocking the bootloader on the Panther and Cheetah.
I'm not new to unlocking bootloaders, rooting, ROMs, kernels, ECT....but I am new to Pixels and how Google has changed where the kernel is now.....have owned Nexus' from the Galaxy Nexus through Nexus 6P, as well as a daily driver Samsung Note 2 through 5 including a Developer Edition, but moved clear across the country to where only Verizon worked and was pretty much forced to use only Samsung devices, so I've reluctantly used a Galaxy S9+ for the past 5yrs 😅
Finally decided to come back and get a Pixel, last Google was a 6P, now 7....so it kinda works out lol(unintentionally), but I needed both a little refresher and to be caught up on some of the file changes Google has made..... you could imagine my surprise while scouring XDA for the first time in over 5yrs searching "Pixel 7 recovery" or "Pixel 7 TWRP" or "Pixel 7 Phil'z" and not coming back with any results 😂 ....
As of right now, there is a way for you to hide all of this and pass those SafetyNet checks - ruclips.net/video/yaeAz_8OsJg/видео.html
That video will help you get that set up.
It's being tested right now - developer.android.com/training/safetynet/deprecation-timeline
This could just be continuing the cat/mouse game or it could put the final nail in the coffin.

@@ExplainingAndroid haha, thanks! I just have a question, I've heard.of people doing a custom recovery in case something goes wrong, but I am confused as to what that is. What exactly is a custom recovery?
@@edwardferrari7342 a custom recovery would replace the software/menu you see when you boot the phone into 'recovery mode'
those custom recovery options (twrp, lineageos recovery, etc) tend to have additional features to them (like creating backups of your android/application data)
so for example, if you were going to install a new OTA update, there's a chance that it could bootloop the phone (when you're rooted). so it can be a smart thing to create a 'full backup' using a program like TWRP just in case that update goes wrong (if it bootloops the phone, you boot into recovery mode and restore your data from the backup).
but twrp can be finicky on new phones and the people behind it just got a version released for Android 12 (so official support for Android 13 could take a while). unofficial builds do sometimes appear on XDA, but they sometimes have bugs and stuff.
if you stick with the stock recovery option, and end up in a bootloop, you end up having to do a factory reset/flash the firmware via fastboot mode, which wipes out all of your personal data. that can suck if you're not backing up your stuff in the cloud
@@ExplainingAndroid Wow, thank you so much for the detailed info! I see now... That explains the confusion I had with what TWRP was as well. that's great to hear! thanks so much for this feedback. I know a lot of people are going to be installing the new security update and curious if this still works
Just a friendly advice, don't take this as an attack or as a judgment, but just an advice for you to improve your content (from my way to see things) :
You should really think about cutting your videos, in order to have less unnecessary long moment, and just go straight to the point
For real, when i go to youtube to search for a guide, i'm really looking for the shortest video possible guide with a maximum of informations, and usualy when it comes for smartphones guide, you only find videos in hindi. There's not enough content in english, so imagine my frustration when i double check every videos to find what i need, and i only find yours, wich has exactly what i need but with waaaaaay too many long moments, i'm going crazy smashing my "->" key to go to the moment i need
Other than that, thank you for the help you provide !!
I appreciate the feedback. But I do hope you understand who my target audience is. There are places for quick bullet point tutorials (like XDA) for those who already have a grasp on what they're doing.
When I started creating tutorial (for my website, that I ended up selling, but continued with the RUclips channel), my goal was to create walkthroughs for people who got ran off of XDA for being a "noob" and "asking simple questions."
I do apologize to folks like yourself who need to press the skip button so many times, or those who feel the need to play my videos at 1.5X speed.

This guy is just a genius wow what Way to explain how to do this, You most be a scientific professor or something,
if by any chance anyone has an issue where it says "partition init_boot not found", the fix is to add _a or _b (depending on active partition, it shows in the fastboot menu on your phone) to the init_boot part of your command. it should either read init_boot_a or init_boot_b. that should do the trick.
Thanks! Been looking for 2 hours online this error and this comment helped me lol
Now the the problem:
For the media output change to work you need to give access to androids accessibilty services.
So if I root my Pixel and grant the app full access to the phone, do you think it could fix this problem?
correct, you saw in the video that I was able to root the phone without losing any of the data. you just have to have the bootloader unlocked first (if yours is still locked, that will wipe your data, though)
I can't say for sure (since I'm not familiar with this app) but the app itself will need to be built with root access in mind (if it were to bypass this new Android 13 restriction). root access itself won't help anything if the app hasn't been coded to leverage that type of escalated privileges
is this the app you're talking about - play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tombayley.volumepanel ?
I'm not seeing any mention of root in the app description, so I'm not sure if that will change anything
have you contacted the dev about this android 13 change? maybe they have something they're working on, or have an idea as to how you can workaround this issue?
@@ExplainingAndroid Thanks for reading my roman.
Yes this is the app I am talking about. The dev has a forum where the community can post bugs/issues/wishes etc. This problem has been mentioned plenty of times there, unfortunately he never gave a response. The app hasn't been updated since June 2022, by that time Android 13 hasn't been stable released yet.
Man why does google have to do me dirty like this.
There's probably no way to bypass a restriction like that, right?
Anyways thanks alot for your detailed response! :)
@@sherluk_homs there should be a way to bypass this limitation, but the app needs to be developed with root access in mind. are there any alternative apps that offer this feature?

this video is about the rooting process only, and that does not require anything to be reset. but you're right, rooting does require the bootloader to be unlocked first (and that does indeed factory reset the phone). this is mentioned in my bootloader unlock tutorial

@@ΘανοςΤ-φ2σ ADB and Fastboot come packaged together in the same download. you can either use the Tiny ADB & Fastboot installer that I have done a video on, or you can download the ZIP file of these files directly from Google.
and yes, they definitely work for Windows 10 too
nice tutorial!
By doing this method does it wipe the phones data? Hopefully I get a quick response
No, but unlocking the bootloader (prerequesite) does.
@@31redorange08 I already discovered it. My device is now unrooted but the bootloader is open (not planning on locking it)
I hope they release lineage os or proton asop with this. It's a shame pixel 6 didn't get many custom roms so why do I think android 13 pixel custom roms won't be around as much?
The reason why google phones do not get that many custom roms is probably because the stock software is already very good because it is basically stock android and that's what lineage os and other custom roms are most of the time
Graphene os looks kinda good. They have from pixel 4 untill the 7 and 7 Pro as well.
Help me please X'D
My question is: If I root my Pixel 7 pro, will I be able to get access to local 5G networks?
Bro i have problems its init boot not found
I can't guarantee that I'll be able to help solve this particular issue, but if you're wanting 1-to-1 dedicated support then I will need you to join the Direct Support tier of the RUclips membership system - www.youtube.com/@ExplainingAndroid/join
After that, you can use the Support Thread I created (which helps me to follow up along the way) and it will allow me to dedicate some time and attempt to work through the issue with you
hi sir. can you do a video on 'Pixel 7 Unroot Tutorial'?
this is the video I recommend for people who want to unroot and return their phone back to stock android - ruclips.net/video/fZgQNMhgWuM/видео.html
@@ExplainingAndroid Thank You Sir. This will help me a lot.
will this method work with pixel 6a?
I think you'll want to follow my google pixel 6 root tutorial. this process will work, but the pixel 7 modifies the init.boot.img file rather than the regular boot.img file that (I believe) the pixel 6 series uses
the steps will be similar to this video, but you're patching a different file and flashing it to a different partition
FAILED (remote: No such file or directory)
Can this be done on a Chromebook ?
if you can get adb & Fastboot working on the chromebook, then it should work just fine. this article may be able to help - www.xda-developers.com/adb-fastboot-chromebook-chrome-os/
Thank you Sr.
can you install pixelify module?
I rooted mine even before you uploaded this. Not many modules for magisk 25.2 with this phone.
Did you find 5G and VOLTE ? i am outside US and neither are supported without root
@@ahmed.alnaqbi yes but im on a usa smart phone.
I need the directions for a pixel 6
This should help - ruclips.net/video/YWGSfRo-KlI/видео.html
TWRP next?
I don't think TWRP is available for Android 13 yet ( they just released a version for Android 12) ,but there may be an unofficial version on XDA (I can look this week/weekend and see if something can be done
There's no point. No custom roms yet. Just root.
@@ExplainingAndroid So are all these bootloader unlock videos only for Non Carrier locked phones ( A/K/A) Factory Google Pixel phone's or international phones only ?
@@KRIMSON09 yeah you gotta by from google website
Can someone tell me if it's safe to root my phone out of the box?
I would say yes, but I'm curious what you mean by 'out of the box'. unlocking the bootloader and gaining root access is the first things I do with my phones when I take them out of the box (after doing initial display/pixel checks
Thank you so much for replying, I guess I'm a little worried that something could happen to the phone. But thank you for clarifying that it is ok to go ahead.
@@ExplainingAndroid also would you be to make a tutorial on how to enable 32 bit applications on the pixel 7, because I cant find a single good tutorial on youtube.
Will this work with Linux
After root can i get android update
you can, but you have to install the updates in a certain way. this video will help you update a rooted Pixel 7 and pixel 7 pro device - ruclips.net/video/o_hainMk7qM/видео.html
dose this remove my data and settings.
you kinda sound like tim cook
surprisingly, you're not the first person to suggest that, lol
Step by step would've been better
When I go on the developers page I don’t get a flash link. I only get the “Link” and when it installs onto my computer it’s in a tgz file and I can’t do anything with it.
are you viewing it in Chrome on the desktop?
@@ExplainingAndroid hello i am viewing it on my phone.
@@ExplainingAndroid nevermind i found it thank you so much
does it fix incoming calls/no service/sms etc? if we root?
