In this video I am sharing how I recently painted my wooden Venetian blinds with chalk paint.
The products I used were:
Wilko Furniture Paint Chalky Finish - Chalk White
Plastikote Clear Sealant Matt Satin

OMG, honestly Deborah this was nothing short of amazing! I could just see how much work was involved and I just don't think I would of had the patience to complete such a task, WELL DONE! Good job, I am STILL in the process of doing the same for all the blinds in the house, from brownish painting to white. For me this has required the utmost patience as all my windows are large. Yours turned out great!

Jcberb did u do your blinds fully? Did they turn out ok asi am going to do ours from brown to white with spray paint im just nervous doing it hahaha

Thank you for a very informative and detailed video. Just bought cream blinds because they were 1/3 the price of white, and after a while, when the novelty of new ones has worn off, I'll paint them white thanks to your video :)

I ‘m so glad I watched your video . I did try to paint once with spray paint. With my blinds hanging. It only last a year and the pain started to flake leaving the bare wood in spot. I’m going to try your method .

Thanks for this video. I have two wooden blinds and I want to change them to white, but the price of new blinds has gone through the roof, plus I like to reuse items if I can as it’s so better for the environment. I’m a great fan of Wilko paints too, so I shall give your method a try x

Wow thy look amazing , iv wanting to change my wooden dark V blinds for awhile to white but too expensive and was wondering if I could paint them and that's when I came across ir video. ThankU for the idea , looks abit fiddly hope I have the patience to go thru the whole procedure 😅 I knw it b worth it at the end as will be saving alot

I have brown wooden blinds in the front window and I despise them. They are so dark. I’m tempted to give this a go!!! The thought of priming as well though….. 🤯
It took ages but it was totally worth it for me as my blinds were a custom size. They still look bright white! ☺️

I've priced replacing them and it would be €€€, money I'd rather spend on lovely new furniture, so TODAY I begin!! I picked up a can of Frenchic furniture paint in "Wedding Cake" a lovely soft white and off I go... wish me luck 🍀

I have horizontal blinds. They are vinyl and are a yukky, horrible yellow over time. After watching you, I will now take them down, clean them and spray them with white vinyl paint from a spray can. I will give it a go.

what about the brown strings if wanting to paint brown blinds white
Hi Kevin, I would probably replace the strings. You could try to paint the strings but I’m not sure they’d take the paint well ☺️
Exactly what i wanted to know whether painting was possible. Please could i ask a year on how are they keeping?
Amazing! They look the same and haven’t faded. If I were to paint them again I’d choose Frenchic paint as it’s sooo easy to use and give a brilliant finish 😊
