LYRICS
If tomorrow never shows
I want you all to know
That I loved you all, you're beautiful
And I had myself a ball
I've wasted so much precious time
Been skating along these fine lines
Now these weeds have grown where the sun once shone
And my life has passed me by
And my life has passed me by
And I don't know why
I keep searching for something that I never found
While these weeds get deeper as I turn around
And time growns older and I've grown colder
So long has passed that I forgot to count
These weeds have grown where the sun once shone
And I can feel it
Today I cut off all the ties
Been led blind for all this time
But somewhere in between the lies
Are the hearts and minds of those who tried
And although I've heard your lies
And I don't know why
I keep searching for something that I never found
While these weeds get deeper as I turn around
And time growns older and I've grown colder
So long has passed that I forgot to count
These weeds have grown where the sun once shone
And I can feel it
This space between us...
One of the most underrated bands in human history.
And this kind of comment is overrated lolol
story time, I was about 10 or 11 years old, loved rock/alternative music. My uncle was drinking in a local bar and met "some guys in a band" that invited him to check out what they were filming in our little long island town. He asked if he could bring me, and low and behold, I ended up being on the set of this very video shoot for hours. They were so nice to me, particularly Alan and Joey Z, Joey hung out with me all day, let me play his guitar. It was an incredible experience I still treasure to this day, as I am almost 40. Those guys didn't have to go out of their way like they did for a young fan, but they were so cool. It inspired me to start my own band that week. We never went too far, but it was a great time.
thats so badass i love this band!!
Great story Dude!! Love when our musical idols stay grounded and real despite having fame & fortune! BTW, do you remember the location, and where was this video shot on Long Island?
I believe the band formed in Queens, NYC.....
@LIRocker87 I do!! It was an abandoned duck farm in East moriches, a littletown on eastern long Island, those barn like structures they were jamming in were old duck houses!
@@LIRocker87 They were from Brooklyn
I’ve met them quite a few times Joey like you said is so damn cool man
One of the most underrated Songs and Bands.
Agree
✊✊✊✊✊
LIFE OF AGONY, for life.
Amen.
My wife help write this song I couldn't believe it 😃
Some people on here obviously have never heard the album river runs red . This song is actually the first Life of Agony song that was mellow enough to get radio airplay. Keith Caputo is a great singer, no matter who he is today. These guys put out some great music in the nineties, give them their due respect.
+kakarot Benotti She :)
Mina
+Pies4everyone - absolutely agreed. Fuck the haters, LOA forever!
Ehh..this is off their 3rd album, & their 2nd album (ugly ) was nothing but mellow songs..js
They make great music ..if you don't like it why are you here then.....
Love Life of agony. River runs red is on of the greatest albums I've ever heard
Totally agree this band was amazing. Every album so diff but river runs red a masterpiece!
I couldn’t agree more. Luckily I was introduced to that album in 1993 at 13 years old. I’ve never heard anything like it & probably never will again. Changed my life.
Soul Searching Sun was so different from River Runs Red. But I love both equally. They didn’t get softer but suckier. They did it right.
I love how Keith is swaying as the rest of the band is rockin hard and it just works perfect. So much talent.
BUT POSERS MO!
One of the best Songs in the History of Rockmusic. Timeless Masterpiece.
I like a lot "love to let you dawn" it's my favorite of all it was , the song when I first met the band..!!
For better or worse if this song had come out in the early to mid 90s, it probably would have been a huge hit.
OMG I'd totally forgotten about this. Haven't heard this in like 20 years, but still love it!!!
When I saw them opening for Typo Negative at the Nassau Coliseum in the 90’s they blew me away I knew nothing of this band prior.
Seeing them live in every NY/ NJ club was an absolute pleasure. Great times.
Roseland ballroom with Type O was my favorite
@@GODHATESADOPTION I was there.
Forever love this. Since drilling the vein. Forever love
2019....so fucking many years later and this song still gets me through the bs. I'll learn one day. Thank you LOA for keeping me alive.
I remember seeing this band during the Biohazard/Type O era and they were awesome. Soul Searching Son is my personal fave but most of that stuff back then was really good. The Stain Remains probably hit me the hardest from them because of that last verse and how deep it was but the first 3 albums I love. I haven't heard any of the later stuff but might get around to Broken Valley one day, my wife goes crazy when I play this music. Be well, stay strong and peace with love sprinkle each day for all of you.
Don’t let go of music. It sustains us!
Soul Searching Sun was probably their most different Cd but it is also my favorite I think they really came together great musically on that album, it may not have been as gritty as the other CD's but artistically it was my favorite
Sounds like a quote from American Psycho :-P "Ya like Life Of Agony?"
LOA was an amazing band...i still can't believe keith quit over the phone back in 98...ugly and river runs red were great albums!
Truuuuuuuueeeeee...!!!!!
This weeds have grown where the sun want shown!!! Epic
IT'S A GREAT METAPHOR FOR A DISTANCE WITHIN A COUPLE
Great F**kin Rock and Roll Band....Forever!
Whenever I listen to this song while driving on the highway, I rethink about my life.
i agree, LOA has changed over the years. I liked the earlier shit as well, but have enjoyed watching progressively change. Always keeping it fresh.
NYHC REPRESENT!
Saw these guys at Rock City neck in the 90's, amazing live.
Yet another extremely under rated song! such a shame, this track certainly deserved a much greater rotation when it came out. Kick ass theme, Kick ass vocals, Kick ass guitar solo, KICK ASS
Simple yet great! So uplifting.
Keith came up with such a badass vocal line to this jam. Especially the chorus parts. The riff is killer but simple and Keith really detracts from that. It all just sounds so good together. Great band.
*Mina
@@David_Downs mina was keith when this was written... the deadname wrote it
@@redroadstar2366 It doesn't matter when she wrote it. She was always the same person, just happier & more herself nowadays. So yes, Mina wrote this.
@@ghostb613 Of course it matters when Caputo wrote it. She was Keith then, to claim it doesn’t matter, is to deny the validity of her existence as Keith. I’m sure Mina wouldn’t deny it.
They have so many great songs but this one always had a different feel to it. Badass solo Joey Z.. I'll never forget the time I seen LOA back in 05 in Pittsburgh. Great times..
How does this gem not have more views...
Timeless
I can proudly say that my band opened for LOA twice, in 2004 and 2005 in Springfield, Va., at this club (now closed) called Jaxx.
I can also say that Joey Z is on our band's 2nd CD on our song Breathe. Being able to say my band, along with my Brothers for life in CRB, were able to record at Method of Groove Studio is both an honor and a fan's dream come true.
Joey gave my band permission to cover some LOA songs and it was awesome to play them live to not only our fans, but to those who'd never heard of LOA and turn those people into fans!
La Famiglia Forever, Joey!
CRB
Just a quality, well written, well performed rock track - simple as!
thx
I see a Norf FC meme in here somewhere
I have just re found this song again. Such a great song by a amazing band.
Saw them on the smoke em all 94 tour. Incredible Live. The first three records were filled with great jams.
This albums one of my favorites by them
Saw these guys and gal at marquee club London in 1994 ish , supporting pro pain and totally stole the show. Saw them again in Norwich England 2018... still fuckin awesome!!! Pls come back ASAP
It takes A Singular Attitude for me to listen to this!
Here in 2024 I still love you guys man!
Weeds itsn't from the album "Ugly"... It's from 1997, "Soul Searching Sun", album... Great Song!!!!
2020.10.30.
Still a song I adore.
One of the best. Try with a system in your truck cranking any of river runs red at an intersection. :-}
great voice
I saw them before they where ever signed in like 93 with maybe Megaderh in the old Studio 54 when it turned into The Ritz in Manhattan NYC. I knew they where something and then not long after they exploded. Back then to hear such a heavy band with a New York sound and good vocals was rare and groundbreaking.
This might be my Favorite song Fom LoA 👌🏻👌🏻
This stays between us
A top song from them!!
2021 is here and its still a great choon!
this song was playing on the radio in 97 while I was losing my V card, that's why I'll never forget this song lol... I also won't forget hiding in her closet when her mom came home and then sneaking out her bedroom window
Awesome track! This is in my 90's mix. One of my absolute favorite songs
Best song of the 90s for me
This is such an amazing song! The radio edit used in this video, however, is something that I will never get used to. Lyrically, without those missing lines, the emotional punch doesn't land quite as squarely. Musically, without those missing bars, the choruses become jammed too close together, making it feel a bit more repetitive than the arrangement that the band intended. Also, it's kind of sad that Roadrunner doesn't know (or care) which album this song is from.
Absolutely agree radio edit versions of songs suck
It appears you know not much about "this band".
You may be the only so called old fan who hadnt even heard Weeds till now.
It's from their fkn 3rd album! You know, back in...1997! You know, right before they...Disbanded!
If they're done, how "Everything has changed"??
Not now nor then.
Perhaps you assumed that their whole identity or music interest was only what transpired in their initial concept album.
Sorry, but most of us were still at awe upon hearing this AMAZING song... 15years ago!
This is fantastic, I heard Michale Graves do a cover of this and always wondered why it was never really released or anything, I knew about Life of Agony but never gave them a real listen and never knew this was their recording, I can see why he covered this song, it's fantastic! This is truly an amazing song!
Great Band ...Great Song !!!
Such a well written song...
a great song remains a great song… even in 100 years…
my favorite LOA song !!!!!!
This shit kills me man. Mina, whether a boy or a girl, you are beautiful either fucking way. Be light!!!
the soundtrack of my teens....love it
High school memories
I don't care that Keith is going to become a Woman. I think His Personality is amazing. Oh and His voice is incredible. I'm looking forward to seeing new pictures of Her when it's all said and done. She's gonna be beautiful no matter what. I love Life of Agony and all they stand for.
great song, great band .
I miss them like this
Alternative Rock! I don't care if this is not his trade mark (Metal) Is a good song for me!
These guys burnt me THREE times. All three albums, I loved one of the singles, bought the album, and ONE good song.
+glyde69 i could see that for broken valley, sss borderline maybe...but ugly is awesome and rrr is a masterpiece from start to finish
Great f song..
Classic for me. Bad ass guitar.. Love all of it.
Michael graves did bad ass version of it live. Everyone Tripped n went nuts n broke bones. ..Good times 🤘💀
im 30 years old and i still search for these guys on youtube.
Конечно, ностальгирую, но не только, объективно - очень сильная банда с хорошей музыкой и вокалом, не модным, а крутым на все времена.
I remember listening to a live interview with LOA on 107.9 out of Waterloo, IA when Soul Searching Sun had just dropped. I remember the band saying that the original cut of the music video for this song had been stolen so it had to be re-shot. I also recall them saying that the stolen video was much, much better than the re-shoot because the re-shoot had to be done on the cheap since the original shoot had used up the video budget. I would love to see what that stolen cut looks like.
This song and video exactly shows the chaos in my head.... So i glad i heard this words :)
"I keep searching for something that I never found
While these weeds get deeper as I turn around
And time growns older and I've grown colder
So long has passed that I forgot to count"
I miss my 80s and 90s.. people have gone fucking nuts these days.
Awesome band. Awesome song.
Its got a very 90's alt rock sound going :)
These weeds have grown where the sun once shown.
...and I can feel it!
Beautiful....Between these weeds.
These weeds have grown where the sun once shown
When this song came out, a lot of magazines in the UK were downplaying it hard. Calling it generic. I was like fuck you ima play this 99 times in the car this week alone.
Great live band. Still sound original. Keith solo albums great. Mina's album great... Just waiting for another LOA album to drop.
You are cool, Keith/Mina Caputo! This is a real hit and I love it and you seem to be a sensitive human being which is all what matters for me. Life is fucking hard. I just wish you and the whole band the very best. We are all in the same boat.
Still got that Method of Groove, Brooklyn :)
Awesome lyrics....great song!
One of the greatest songs on earth! \m/
Great song and band!
This is off of Soul Searching Sun, not Ugly.
thanks I knew it wasn't off Ugly
Exactly: the 'abstract' background of the album is hanging in the background of the video. It is the painting of the sun.
I could understand if was uploaded by a random RUclipsr, but it's from the official RR page!!
Good old Life of Agony.
The best song
1:22 best
been skating along these fine lines now these weeds have grown where the sun once shone....where did that line go to????
I genuinely LOVE every iteration of this band, every album. I love River Runs Red as much as anyone does, I love Ugly and Broken Valley, and quite honestly, Soul Searching Sun is my favorite LOA record, especially when you include the extra tracks from that album found on the Roadrunner compilation 1989-1999, and HELL YES "A Place Where There's No Pain" is going to be in my car cd changer for a long time when i get it in April. Love this band always.
The Roadrunner Compilation is one of my favorite records
I don't know why I keep searching for Loa tunes, probably cause their good at what they do...
All Rock bands are great all But Life Of Agony my one and best best wishies from 🇵🇱 Poland Stay Rock THEROCKNEVERSTOP 🤘
I didnt say it was the last album.
And Broken Valley was only during their short reunion. Which came after they initially disbanded...
amazing song
What a fuckin legend 👿👿👿
This is a real HIT!!
Awesome. Lowland version pretty great! Didn't known you had it in you Keith!
GREAT GREAT SONG
I shut my brain off while listening to a post grunge playlist because it makes me fall asleep. This songs a bop
Kiss from Croatia
Das waren noch Zeiten 😁😎
The band which FINALLY made me appreciate NY "hardcore" as a sub genre ... This was a fucking brilliant album , "Ugly" before it even better maybe (my 1st album, I couldn´t bring myself to hate it and disparage it as "neo- hardcore garbage") ... great band !!!!!!
Best song they made outside of r.r.r....
