Loved this video for so many reasons❤❤❤ Great job and I loved your down to earth delivery, really natural and it cracked me up when you burped 😂😂😂 (That's the kinda thing I'd likely do on a video too!😂😂)
Ive never seen that rotating steps design before, kind of elegent the way its bottom is the truck exterior when closed, especially compared to the usual solutions and probably able to be electrified fairly easily. You have a great platform to do whatever you can imagine both now but also in the future, Im 5 years into my box truck life and still having new ideas and doing upgrades with no end in sight :)
I hope you are thinking long term the babies will grow and will need full size beds in the future. Bunks are great but they will need to be longer than they are currently.
Just wanted to say great video. Today marked the day I bought a Ford cargo horse box allso. My convertion story has just begun. 😁 😁 If it OK I may be asking u questions along the way.
I looked at horseboxes but all the sensibly priced ones looked iffy to me, floors rotten from horse piss, horse smell seemingly baked in to everything, ignored maintenance, outsides tatty. In the end a standard box truck seemed much better value as I would have had to totally strip a horsebox interior anyway.
Fantastic video I just stumbled across it what’s the plans for when the children get older and bigger are their beds going to get extended into what is the fridge area
I want to do the same and have three kids. The log book for those is for three passengers only. How will you have four passengers? I am very interested as I assumed that I would need to fit a couple of travel seats behind the driving seat.
can't wait to see it finished. I really want to do this as i'm tired of most my earnings going on rent. There's so much space this is the UK alternative to the "skoolie" in terms of space etc.
Glad you liked the video, we are so excited to see what it’s going to look like when it’s finally done! You should so do it!! We was nervous at first but now we are so excited, and your right rent is so expensive this is a much cheaper and easier way of living
@@ItaintmeCCC It was a concern for us too but we came to realise that there's a whole bunch of parking places if you look for them on your travels. Beach/park areas, large enough residential roads. We've seen several conversions regularly parked up in different areas now that we're more aware of them. Just be prepared to move every so often I guess. I think the worse thing that's going to happen is someone asking you to move on. But time will tell! Are you considering converting something as large as a horsebox?
Love the simple blowtorch finish on the countertop. Looks so good. How's it work with your license in the UK with a van that size? Did you have to take an extra test?
Hi ya you Have plaster board above you cab and fitted fixed cupboards if anything goes wrong or you need the engine looking at you will not be able to tilt your cab ????
Me and my partner and 3 to be children are wanting to do the same. We’ve been looking at 7.5 ton , fo you need to take a test as it’s 7.5 ? Somebody said if you passed your test within a certain year it’s ok. Love that I’ve come across you guys, wicked couple too. Xx
girlf writes: hey guys good stuff, important question!: where can u put it , inc u will drive it around but where can u park it without trouble in general ? are there roads u can legally park on or?
Hiya, we have looked into local spots where the Horsebox can go but as for when we drive around that will all be a learning experience. We plan on traveling around the country so we will have to do our research before going to a new area
Great work there you young guys.Did you have to take another driving test this being a 7.5 ton as your licence wouldnt cover it?Not sure about your plasterboard ceiling with the vibration of driving it could crack and all fall down? But other than that you have done a cracking job and cant wait to see it finished. stay safe atb Mike
Hi Mike. Yes we do. Unfortunately my test was due 4 days after we went into lockdown! Just waiting for the dvsa to reopen them and I'm away! That's exactly what I was thinking with the ceiling but after some thought, I committed to it! My thinking is, the boards are glued and screwed to a counterbatterned ceiling. Then, on the 4ft joints I have false ceiling beams screwed through the plasterboard into timber which will take our lighting throughout. Fingers crossed this is enough🤞 I think the worst that will happen will be some filler in screw heads popping off but time will tell. We've got another updated video if you're interested in taking a look 🙂 Thanks mate Sam
I see you said that once you have re classified as a motor home you only need a standard mot. What are the stipulations to get it re classified? And once it has been changed, can you then drive it on a car licence? I’ve got a 16 ton 1982 Volvo 30footer that I’m going to convert and just gathering info on all these things. Also do you have an insta account?
Hi Mark. So on the dvla website they have a checklist of what requirements you need to meet. Send that off with some photos and that should be sufficient. I've not done this yet so can't yet speak from experience. You'll find it on here. www.gov.uk/government/publications/converting-a-vehicle-into-a-motor-caravan/converting-a-vehicle-into-a-motor-caravan Basic stuff really. One of the requirements is a fitted table which can either be removable or permanently fixed. It's the only thing that is holding ours up. So, once I've done that, I'm sending off our application. As far as the mot is concerned. I phoned a local lorry plating company and told them my situation. I was told as soon as it's registered to a motorhome I just need a standard mot on it that a car garage can do providing it fits on their ramp. A bit of online research confirmed this. I'm not sure this would apply to yours considering it's over 7.5tonnes? Anyway, how bloody awesome. A 16tonne volvo conversion. If only I could have fit that on our drive! What model is it? We'd love to see some photos and progress
Hi Rolf, ours will be insured as a Motor home when we are on the road. We haven’t got as far as insuring it yet as we are still on the building stage lol

wow good~~
Love that your shower is rubber duck yellow ❤
It's gonna be gorgeous!
Yes i would have that fencing barrier to stop the kids falling off. Maybe a little awning too.
Nice one. Thank you for sharing. All the best

So pleased to see an update
We have a horsebox the same size as yours and are currently gutting it out so it's nice to see a lorry in the next stages
How exciting for you! Glad you liked the video, it was so daunting when we first started gutting ours but so worth the hard work
I remember seeing this before and having seen it all coming together it reminds me how much work you've actually done. Almost there now!
I've bought a horsebox looks exactly the same layout. I've only just gutted it and I'm loving your yelllow shower!
Very nice realy jelouse. Take care stay safe ❤💙❤💙❤💙❤💙

What a great experience your about to embark on! Once the ripping out is done, the fun can start! Of course, we can offer as much help as possible

@@marriedandvegan85 can i ask where do you plan to park it? At the moment that seems to be the biggest obstacle for me.

New subscriber 👌👍👍 loving the vids !
I’m glad that you realised that you have two kids 😂
I wonder if the bunk beds can accommodate the children when they grow?
How did you account for the cab tipping when you need to service the engine if you've boarded out the bed area?
what is cost for conversion and your availability?

Pre 1st Jan 1997 you're fine. Otherwise need to take the test
How long is this horsebox from front to back?
Do you know where you can get the service repair workshop manual for this Horsebox mate, thanks
What happens with mot on 7.5 ton lorry as I was told that don’t need mot

Hi guys, isyours insured as horsebox or as RV? I have trouble finding an insurer to take my horsebox on as an RV
Hi Rolf, ours will be insured as a Motor home when we are on the road. We haven’t got as far as insuring it yet as we are still on the building stage lol
Well I have a hard time to find insurer in the uk. Our is workable and liveable. Just a ton of little things and the solar system to sort out
I hope you didn’t buy this horse box truck second hand?
