So, when doing research for this guitar, this is exactly the kind of demo vid I'm looking for. I can probably find 80,000 vids of Phil blasting the fuck out of a PC-1, while drowning out a jet engine. But I want to hear what else it's capable of. I'm not doing any chicken pickin' with a Jackson Super Strat with a fire breathing bridge pickup, but I want to hear how versatile the guitar is. The PC-1 is obviously built for a certain audience, but maybe there's that one dude out there who's using one in a Hank Williams cover band. The world is just that crazy.
This is great looking PC1 and I'm sure it plays well. But at $3,299 at Wildwood......that's $300 over list price. I'm just going to assume Wildwood Guitars does not worry about competitors.
This thing sounds so dead and lifeless, you'd get better tone stringing up a broom handle to a wash bucket. However, I wouldn't be surprised if this is exactly what Phil plays live, seeing as how his sound goes through about 1,000 racks of effects. (go look it up here on RUclips, it's so hilariously overkill). You could plug a dead cat into Phil's rig and it'd still all sound the same. Can't believe the people at Jackson are producing such deadwood.
disclaimer - Steve was for me the lyrical and musical genius of this band but Collen was poached by Elliot and Steve after seeing Phil play with UK glam band 'GIRL'. Phil Lewis then went to the US and formed LA Guns [Tracii blows Hudson away as a player] and the "Guns" in GnR is named for Tracii Guns. Collen signed with Grover Jackson around the same time "The Riffmaster' signed with Gibson. Completely different players - Steve was a loose handed genius - his playing is to die for. Collen was drafted during 'Pyromania' due to what Elliot thought as did 'Mutt' his very sharp technical playing. The best concert imo of Leppard was the 'In The Round Tour 88/89' and Phil is seen using his first ever Jackson guitars, 2 of them he still uses - once named 'crackle' the other a beautiful bella-legosi [sic]. This guitar does it all, minimal pedal use and effects - all players are different, some like God/EVH and Steve 'Fingers' Stevens and Tracii use a shit load of pedal effects. Collen not so much. His shredding has always grated. But hey the great Joe Satriani is a MASSIVE fan of Collen. I love Knaggs Guitars but am a Gibson bloke - but the entry level point even for LP's is insane, Knaggs even more insane - the PC1's imo are priced about right given EVERYTHING that this model gives you.
I seem to be having a strange dream where Greg Koch is playing a Jackson with a Floyd rose and a Stratocaster headstock. I hope Beyonce shows up.
Love the variety in the videos lately Wildwood! This Jackson is real beauty! Always impressive playing Mr. K!
Jackson is making some great guitars.

Love me some John McLaughlin licks! Neat guitar and like the octave sustain.
Good guitars are tested in clean channel
In some genres where the drive is choked even a broom will do
These all seem to be very dark sounding compared to other super strat guitars. It must be the pickups.
The DiMarzio Super 3 is very dark, but tweak the treble and gain and it will get spicy

first?
Amazing Guitar :)
The sad thing is, that poor guitar probably will never be played that viciously again! 🤣
Greg Koch makes every guitar sound like overdrived strat
I hope they’re paying the Gristle Man extra whenever they make him play a Hair Band Guitar....
Greg playing a def leopard guitar just doesn’t seem right
david g Not even a chicken picken version of Pour some sugar on me?😉😉
Mastered all genre's yet can't play basic power chord rock. God really does have a sense of humor...

Tasker Pro guitar is vibrant clean
It is this guy who makes it sound plastic
Jesus, you hate Phil Collen, we get it. I mean, he's only sold more than 100 million albums, so fuck him - what does he know?
It’s the pickups, just swap them, the pc1 is an awesome capable platform
