This guitar is phenomenal, bought one in early 2020. Build quality feels like high end custom shop. Consider it the Les Paul of shredders, with bigger neck and thick darker tone. Sustainiac is ridiculously fun with a floyd. Great review and playing!
but his guitar either sounds WAY out of tune or needs intonation fixed it sounds really bad for a 3k guitar. Sorry but I would pass on this one and just get a custom shop Jackson Soloist or Vigier for same money.
I have 2019 blue frost has stainless steel frets. Mine has a roasted fingerboard and the neck is caramelized. It also has glow in the dark side dot inlays and black hardware. I own 3, chlorine blue, chameleon green, blue frost. You can't get the chameleon green any more they stopped 2018. There are very cool guitars but I wish you could get a pointed headstock on them.
found this one too! Yeah that guitar is freaken cool as well! It may have some access faults but when it looks like that and it can sound that sweet, I think that is a small thing compared to all of the benefits!:) I have a Jackson but just the Pro Solo, and they do play nice. Great vid man! Thanks for posting!
I am getting this beautiful Ibanez at the end of the week, the color is not blue, which is preferred, but the goldhardware is my thing, so, looking forward towards this Prestige:) www.zzounds.com/item--IBARG652BG
@@bonitabromeliads yeah but there's also a law of diminishing returns. If you can get 90% of what this offers for half the price. That's going to be better for most people
@@michaelcorcoran8768 But it's those 10% that make all the difference and thus justify twice the price for those people who really love awesome tone and playability. It's like adding some extra details to a painting. If you focus on a single detail alone it doesn't make much difference but all the details combined give the painting way more life.
U sure about nickel frets bub? I just bought a PC1 frost matte 2017 model. Sweetwater says they are stainless...perhaps they switched to stainless steel in 2017 or perhaps Sweetwater description is wrong? Nickel wears quick, stainless steel such a luxury. What year is yours?
@@GuitarsAndSynths you should see their prices now. Jackson went straight Gibson. That same guitar gonna run you 4400k before tax. After tax nearly 5k. So fkin pissed at them. Greedy fkers.
I liked. I subscribed! You do an awesome review with awesome chops but I won’t call you Superman 😉. My only wish is you had played at least the middle and sustainer clean. I really want a sustainer but need a good clean tone for cover band crap. Looking forward to more!
Doug L thank you sir! And it depends on the sound you'd like to get out of it but the middle alone is very quiet and underpowered - meant to work in conjunction with other pups - and the sustainer is very lifeless with no highs alone. The only pickup that is really any good alone is the bridge but you'll get typical clean tones for a hot rod pickup from it. The other two pickups are best used when with the bridge
Hi Steve ! I don't know how I fell on your video ... anyways ... nice review. I just wanted to say that if you have the same issue as I have with some guitars' lower horns, you should definitely have a try at the ESP LTD EC-1000FM (the models with a contoured neck joint). Of course the ESP LTD EC-1000FM doesn't have a lot to do with your Jackson and all its "bells and whistles", but for as it is about the comfort of playing, the lower horns are so "open" on these ESP LTD guitars that they practically never come in contact with the palm of your hand. Anyway ... Have fun ! Play loud !
The only thing that bothers me about this guitar is the headstock. Everything else looks and sounds great. They need to go back to the traditional Jackson axe headstock. I know they are now owned by Fender but they should keep the headstock traits of a Jackson.
Why is it so expensive? A custom shop Jackson is almost in the exact same price range. For example, a base custom shop Jackson USA Soloist costs about same price but is CUSTOM SHOP not just a USA Jackson with a fancy sustainer switch that I will never use.
Steve Hughes...Am a LP Custom bloke myself, WAY too many fucking knobs on these PCs but this is only my subjective opinion. There are upsides with this, it pretty much gives you every sound you want without endless pedals and effects, everything pretty much is plugged onto the guitar. Interesting Jackson who're owned by Fender have now it seems stayed with the Fender head stock, earlier Jacksons not so much. Personally not my kind of guitar, the new EVH Wolfie has some amazing tricks that best this, again just my view. The sustainer is a really cool addition, being a Leppard fan, and in my opinion one of the top three guitarists I have ever seen, he also was a genius in terms of lyrical/melodies/riffing/bends and hooks was the genius who was a genuine rock star who oozed cool and had some of the most beautiful guitars, all pretty much triple pick ups with a Kahler, the late genius Steven 'The Riffmaster' Clark. His loss has been simply incalculable. Leppard tour off Steve's musical gift. When it comes to the Jackson and the PC models they seem to just fucking be so flexible. A really cool story of destiny and loyalty, friendship of how Grover Jackson and Phil Collen became mates and Grover managed to sign Collen, one of Jacksons big first signings. I know both Steve and Phil early on were admitted hopeless with modding out their guitars and relied heavily on techies, but Phil has stayed loyal to Jackson. 'Steamin' to Gibson although he did use Teles and Strats occasionally live and also in the studio. Phil and his PC range, again although not my thing, well they are pretty cool, his new blue one looks great. Not cheap. Can't recall what stings/gauge Collen uses but he does, like God/EVH use metal picks. Thanks for the video.
Have you thought about getting into acting? You could play Clark Kent in the next Superman TV series. Or a young Superman in the next movie. Seriously.
That solo at the end made me love whammy bars and sustainers way more and I already loved them a lot lol good job it sounded so good

Very honest review and as an owner of the PC-1 i totally agree with this review.
but his guitar either sounds WAY out of tune or needs intonation fixed it sounds really bad for a 3k guitar. Sorry but I would pass on this one and just get a custom shop Jackson Soloist or Vigier for same money.
Thanks for your review. I was considering one of these but I think now I'll be looking at alternatives as the neck pickup is important to me.

Great review man! Thanks a lot. Really helped...
Nice playing mate good review
Super distortion pups are amazing!
PC1 is like my type of dream super strat, 24 frets with frs bridge, with satin neck and a sustainer…
Very sweet guitar!

Roland Lemus thanks for watching! And ya the access and a few things here and there were my only gripes but otherwise a great guitar!

Certanly a great machine, but is out of the reality price!
You get what you pay for

Agree... I love the guitar but too much money
I have played one at namm. Beautiful guitar, but the middle pickup seems to get in the way of my pick

WTF 3k and no SS frets? Insane price for the guitar. Sorry I would never pay 3k for this guitar. Maybe 1400

When did they start coming with only 22 frets? I've never had a problem accessing the 24th and I've got pretty big hands
Super 3 in the bridge, HS-2 in the middle :)

Do you know what a "rest" is in musical notation?
It's just a fun video. Not here for songwriting as it is a review video
Great video
Thanks
You should go over your pedals and gear next. Good vid man
Adam Harrison ahhh you are reading my mind good sir. Notice the inclusion of my loop pedal? IM IN YOUR HEAD ALREADY MUAH HAHAHAH
Your playing is well impressive - very nice!

Steve Vai, eat your heart out.
Joe Schmoe *phil collen 🤣🤣
But I’m sure he would love it

Phil uses 13 gauge strings 😬
What string gauge are you having on it?
They were 10-46
I lost my pc1.
Do u wanna sell yours .
If so I will buy it
Hahah I actually already sold it, loved the guitar but wanted another kiesel!
New video is up!

What kind of tone and volume pots come in that guitar?
Not sure!

Thetwisted69 hahaha well thank you, I appreciate that...and no not really I just have been playing guitar haha
Theyre like 35000 bucks so if ya want me to play one youll have to send me that one you have,..
to be completely honest I don't even like phil collen i'd just buy this guitar because it's exactly what i would order in a custom shop guitar.
It ain't cheap, but if you can afford it and play yolo. Jackson has cheaper models with similar quality but without the Phil Collen pedigree.
