UPDATE: A recent hotfix update that was just released today has apparently fixed the Zoomer delivery service issue many players who don't own Cottage Living have experienced.
And yet pizza delivery still isn't fixed after 2 years of absent pizzas ;--;

It would have been extra fun if the ponds froze completely during winter and you could skate on them. And for extra gameplay, add a risk of falling in haha. Maybe you could buy ice pegs and train your sim on getting up from a fall.
What if an sim is there while it freezes
@@pigjinbrute9399 that would be an opportunity for another new death. Death by pond freezing. Additionally, when sims skate and fell, there's chance the ice will break and the sims fall into the cold water. Resulting in their death

@@ThePinkRubber that's a little bit too harsh actually, i mean if the skating sims fell into the pond with broken ice surface, there should be at least a small chance of surviving depending on the cold intesity & physical skill. And beside those, the broken part of the ice surface couldn't be skated so it won't affect the entirety of the pond. Also some additional, Sims should be able to make a hole in the freezing pond to fish; and there's a chance to break the entire frozen surface, making it unable to be skated.
And a little bit of detail, Penguin would be able to swim into the cold pond and catch a fish in there, or sliding through the frozen surface with a chance of them slipped

I was more excited for stairs and ladders tbh BUT this is a valid update! Just said they reused that one hairstyle instead of actually making a new one.

The zoomer delivery used Cottage Living's exclusive animation, that's why it didn't work for us. So until they patched or you own Cottage Living, DO NOT use the service.

@@MultiSweetheart6 it happens . you sometimes a bug or a glitch happens when when things were tested. that's why it would be fixed on the next patch or update. no update is perfect

Did something happen at EA that they’re yeeting out this much unusually good and useful content? Was there a change in power or something like that?
My guess is the game wasn’t making them much money anymore and so they had no choice but to listen to complaints. That or the fact they have competition now (Paralives)

i’m actually really happy with the update and the new pack is amazing. i really hope the sims team continues going in this direction, hopefully improved babies are on the horizon!

I am so happy about the one where you can see where your guests are in the house because I would always lose them and it would be sooo annoying. Also the whiskers one I was like “am I tripping or do none of my cats have whiskers anymore” so happy
Lol, yes, it was always annoying searching your whole house to find a sim that over-stayed their welcome. Now I can finally micro-manage them 🙃

I just bought Discover University and then they are going to release the hair to basegame!!! I feel cheated. Same thing happened with the parenthood beds. I know its just 2 hairstyles from the pack but it somewhat takes away from the value of the pack. especially when the hairstyle was so heavily advertised in the packs trailers and screenshots.
the whole reason i bought get to work was for the camera and they literally added it in a base game update like a year later... so annoying

tbf, calender in base game is practically worthless anyway. All my calender shows is Monday-Friday workday Saturday-Sunday vacation day. Its a welcomed addition, but kinda useless.

The hairstyle from discover university was always available for children and toddlers so it being unaivailbalr for adults was weird

sims 4 has no hair physics so its just gonna look weird if they added one, it's just gonna stick to the sims's body and/or be stiff when the sim moves their head😵
I think they said before it was quite hard doing all the stuff for it so the hairs are shorter length, I can't remember what video it was but I remember someone was explaining that with the long hairstyle from discover university, but that hair is one of my faves because of how long it is I always loved the longer hairs so I understand you, especially the one from get together that's one of my favorites
@@StarrieMoonlight it's also my favorite one ! The new expension pack gives another similar lenght hair with a bandana and it works well to mix both of them ^^

Buying out companies, and then shutting them down (Maxis, Bullfrog Productions, Westwood Studios, Pandemic Studios, Black Box Studios, Visceral Games etc.)
Creating overpriced stuff packs, dlc
Non-existent customer service (Spore fans will understand...)
Killing games with potential (Spore, for example)
and last of more examples, DRM
Even if EA created lately DLC, it was because more fans stopped buying their shitty games. They know that die-hard fans will come again, just to throw another overpriced stuff packs and dlc in their faces. They created DLC you wanted, just because it will bring them more money. I'm not saying that you're stupid. I'm disappointed, because fans still believe that EA is good.

I'm genuinely amazed that they added the animal effects with the ponds to basegame and deeply grateful it wasn't locked behind the Cottage Living pack. Kinda sucks that they're taking paid content and sticking it into the basegame, I wonder if they make things in packs knowing they'll eventually be made basegame or if it's something they decide later to try and satisfy players while upsetting as few as possible
I love your patch videos because you show the changes made rather than read them :) I know it's probably a lot of work, especially getting the before and after shots, but I really appreciate it!
The model for the pond animal is a bit... rough.

I hope they will have a polished texture model and free roam mode like pets and you can choose to allow them go outside the pond or not, and able to feed or play with them as if they're just a pet. Really looking forward for the future pond updates

We need more rocks in the game. I'm trying to decorate my Sims' cave for the history challenge and I have to use the same 5 rocks 😑

You can resize them, but it does get a little stale. Would love to have, like, a geology skill pack that comes with a ton of deco rocks and maybe some cave shell pieces. I don't even care if they clone it from Archeology.

I absolutely love a new cottage living pack, I waited for this theme for years already! And this new update with ponds is great, so much of new staff in here, definitely going to use it often in my game :)
5:00 I don’t know who remembers that one trailer where the the sim wakes up and their house is filled with water? It seems they had been hinting they were going to do this.
I ordered spaghetti and the person who was supposed to drop it off just stood there and never gave me my spaghetti (yes I clicked on accept delivery)

I have a gray fox that runs around the house all the time. I renamed him Wretch Hallow. Its a name you have to say all together every time and it grows on you.
Well i see why i spent hours weeding through my mods last afternoon/evening because so many of them broke that my game wouldnt even start.
Literally about to do that now.
It’s generally a good idea to remove your mods folder when you get a new update so it doesn’t corrupt the folder when you launch. new updates could actually break your mods folder so bad that you would have to start it from scratch. Just some friendly advice from itsmeTroi.
@@reading1713 Did not know that. I’ve been playing the sims for years now and only now just started messing with mods and cc. I tried with sims 2 and accidentally downloaded a virus so I never tried again lol. thanks for the tip.

As inconvient as it as for small patches, this is why I like that they automatically disable mods after an update and alert you the game has done so.
If you don't have one already, I recommend making a seperate save file that you only use without mods. This will let you play with new features while waiting for mods to update and gives you a clean file to test mods in (as long as you don't save with them).
I'm just loving all the Indonesian outfits, which is literally something I did not expect in this video.

You see, this is why I like watching your videos -- the fact that you can fill ROOMS with water with the new tool never came up in anything else I've seen/read about these updates! And I like seeing actual comparisons with the new and old versions of the calendar -- it does look a lot nicer these days!

Btw abi the sims with higher cooking skills (i forgot what level skill) they can write recipe in a book and any other sims can read it to increase cooking skills too

She's just a running gag character that's always humiliayed in his videos, especially in onlyabidoang's sims logic series. I think he explained about it in his first QnA video

@@moonbug7252 yea but honestly i couldn't find my preference, if it's just casual outing then I'd prefer the (at most) medium one. But all backpacks i found in the store always have an uneven size, it's always either too big or too small like there's no between. I don't want to carry the big one and making my style look so redundant, but at the same time i want one a quite big space

uproot plant is one if my fav new things. finally i can get rid of all the trash bag plants that my sim just left on the ground
I've noticed, that after some time, little baby ducks appear when you place one of the "duck effects"
In the Sims Castaway Stories sims can actually swim in ponds as well as you can customise the water of the ponds with three options water, pond scum and lava and each water type has different effects on sims when they swim however they cannot swim in lava. I was disappointed that changing water types in ponds and pond swimming was not featured in the Sims 2 Bon Voyage as it was featured in Castaway Stories which is a standalone expansion pack for the Sims 2.

I'm so impressed by the update, particularly the new water features! :) Finally it feels like the Sims 4 is innovating new things and adding a lot more fun and creative elements instead of just doing the bare minimum with implementing new decorations lol

I also noticed that one pair of boots from base game have ten variants of colour now. Before the update it had only three colours.
