"Free" + pay for any 'extras' makes me nervous, especially since we're talking about EA. There's going to be a LOT of Sims competition this time around, so if they intend to nickel and dime people to death, they might actually lose customers.
100% this is what I've been saying. EA don't have a monopoly on life simulation games anymore and there are a lot of strong up and coming competitors (Paralives, Life By You, Inzoi). EA makes boardroom games: Games designed by suits and accountants prioritizing cash flows and financial results over creativities and fun. They’re still fun in some ways but you’ll have to take them for what they are.
I feel that EA gave the developers too little time to finish the game well to receive the money ahead of time or that simply to save budget they omitted to add details like sims 2. And not just simple details in the graphics and the look of the game but in actions, scenes and very small things that made the game feel comfortable to play
not always, The base game of Sims 4 was pay to play and you still had to pay for the packs for the game to be entertaining enough. Then when you have most of the packs you realize that it is too monotonous and robotic like something is missing, something that in the sims 2 and 3 is not felt much due to the level of detail in almost any interaction.
But what you say also applies to mobile sims because you basically have to pay for almost everything if you want to have decent gameplay. If not, then you have to wait hours or even days for your sim to complete a very simple action. Something I remember is that when the Facebook account was linked to the freeplay sims account, all my friends had their sims abandoned for that same reason.
It’s gonna be free…. Dear god the base game is gonna be more bare than sims 4. I’ll pass, alternative games to the sims are around the corner anyways. To those excited for this, I honestly hope it meets y’all’s expectations.
EA didn't announce anything about sims 5 coming out next year. Sorry but project RENE is still in its works. I wish people would stop giving hope to people. Its not due for 5 years anyway. So why bust peoples bubble. I've played since sims1 Long time ago. Since beta basically. So, yeah i follow the sims franchise and EA on a daily bases. And sims5 isn't on the list for 2024. If y'all saw the live podcast from sims gurus they literally said " sims 5 isn't coming out next year. That it's in its works and probably won't be done till 5 years. We aren't done with sims 4 yet " that's literally what they said.
@@XxGhostgirlXx66 they definitely said not 2024. They aren't even done with sims 4. Once they are done with sims 4 then project RENE will be done. 2025 project RENE will likely be done. I know they said it won't be next year. Atleast they are taking their time on this project.
@@fluffywhitewulf3119 Nah, they've been saying project rene and Sims 4 will exist side by side. And that Renee is years off. I don't think it'll be 2024 or 2025...And I don't think it's sims 5, it seems more a combo of freeplay, mobile and sims 4 on a new engine. But what do I know? I'm jus a player..
The impact of InZoi is visible (in a good way) It's good for us players to have a potential competitor with this dominant saga (btw my mother tongue is spanish..sorry for my poor English writing).
It would be cool if they made a pack where’s there a grocery store and you have to buy ingredients (in store, online, or phone) in order to actually cook.
Can already see what's coming: base game without swimming pool and toddlers, no university, no pets, no city living. EA is going to redo all the expansion pack tricks for the 5th time.
I hope that content creators are prepared for the amount of restrictions they’re gonna try to implement cause with the base game being free they HAVE to make their money somehow . You can’t mod an online game .
tell me you know nothing about games without saying it.. you definitely CAN mod online games how do you think fortnite and gta 5 got this far still being relevant to this day? because of mods being implemented for creators to make content, sims is no different.
Patented what for photo-sims? Even Sims 1 had that feature, I remember using a very simple digital camera to take portraits of myself and my friend then importing them into the game back in the early 2000’s.
Great, all things most of us are not asking for. What about open world? What about more realistic Sims? What about being able to colorize things as we choose? Just a few. Seems like they're just adding things designed to make $ for them.
Same. I have zero interest in multiplayer or cross compatibility. Absolute zero. I don’t even see what monetary incentive there is with those features. They’ve just added things that nobody wants. If they mess up the base game I’ll just uninstall and move on. I don’t have the patience for EA’s crap anymore.
@@wputnam7500 Well multiplayer, there are a lot of people that want, not multiplayer like everyone could go to your world, but more in a CO-op and controled way. I really want to play with my daughter in the same world. So, just because you don't want, don't say nobody wants.

Well, im telling myself that technically, the money i spent on TS4 is not wasted, since i still will be able to play TS4 whenever i want, and it might seem like both game will still be different to some point, in a way that the gaming experience will be different. It’s like with any other game with DLC. You bought the DLC when they were still adding content to that game, but you have to know and accept that some day they will stop adding new content, because the game has done its time, or because the dev now work on other projects.
Comments 1. No one asked for this feature 2. Inzoi also have this 3. No comment 4. Most probably micro-transanction 5. This will limit a lot of aspects of the game
Whelp, it's not "something new" from (used to be Maxis, then EA Land, & eventually EA Games) the ORIGINAL Sims1: The Sims Online. After creating your Sim, you would choose a server, purchase a lot (or just mooch off of other players' service lots to make more money until you could afford to buy/ build ideally), visit other REAL in-time PLAYERS online/ their lots (specific lot types were i.e. Money, Romance, Casino, Skilling, etc...). You could have either a public or private home to invite others. They also offered jobs such as Robot Factory, DJ, Dancer, Diner. Other players would SIMtimes be there during your shifts, offering another avenue for meeting new people and working together. If you arrived for your shift and found yourself alone, no problem. You could still work, get paid & be credited for potential job promotions. Robot Factory was the only career that didn't have NPCs, as they had LOL cantankerous robots on a running track... and timing was EVERYTHING or you'd be killed. Luckily, there was usually an online player SIMwhere at a public lot who could revive you with a spiritual dance (required i believe Level 8 skills in Charisma and ?Cooking?). Players could also join others on Money lots to play Pizza (4 people), Code (3) and Maze (3). Some lots would throw parties to offer money (i.e. Drink until you pee, rotfl... Player who pees last wins the cash. Another favorite was $50,000 to die in the swimming pool, although it took forever!). i had a Fight Club because my sister and i thought the "Slap Face," "Pile-Drive" & "Attack!" animations were hysterical, along with the "Sarou-Woo! YUH!" Simlish. i'd offer winners of the fights cash as well. Custom content was not introduced in TSO until Maxis stepped out and EA Land took over. i hadn't seen CC thereafter until Sims2 was released. i still miss TSO & hope they incorporate the elements of it in the future. i know there's an "underground" version of TSO (or was) but cannot recall its name. It's free if you want to search for it/ check it out. Unfortunately, i don't know if the developers adopted the same name ("The Sims Online"). Hope that helps! ;D
It’s not new. Sims Online was the mmo spin off to Sims 1. It had a darksife. Where a virtual mafia harassed players. Players destroyed others lots and sometime wrote rude slurs in it’ place. Imagine spending hours on a house, for another player to destroy it. Players were bullied if people thought their sims was ugly and made it hard to get out. Some players were solicited to work in brothels including minors. Sims Online was renamed to EA Land. It got shut down in 2008 as there wasn’t enough players. Also referred to as 20 million dollar failure. I bet the current sims team has no idea. And they won’t add cars into Sims 4 because of wicked whims 🙄.
It sounds very similar to The Sims Freeplay played on Ipad or Mobile the actual game is free, but if you want to add additional items that are instore catalogue these purchases are from your own funds, that's The Sims Freeplay all over again plus The Sims freeplay also has events that will include decorations plus it is a limited event. which you use your own funds, it does become quite expensive. I wonder what the restrictions are?
1-Multiplayer…don’t care 2-I don’t play myself in the Sims, the fun is creating a character that’s not me. I’m a legacy/family/totational player and none of my characters are ‘me’. 3-Cut scenes-cool 4-free to play. Um that is just corporate speak for micro transactions. Sounds like this wants to be some metaverse nonsense, not Sims 5.
That second feature has been around since the original Sims so it needs to be a lot more original since even the original Sims before the year 2000 allowed you to take a picture and have it scanned into the Sims 1
One expansion I want them to do is super heroes. You would establish is you are a hero, villain, or vigilante. The various powers could come from this expansion but could build on overs such advanced technology and supernatural magic.
The Sims, a long-standing and beloved life simulation game, now faces a formidable competitor on the horizon. InZoi, an impressive-looking upcoming life sim, has emerged as a potential new contender in the market. With its stunning visuals and promising features, InZoi has the potential to shake up the genre and challenge the dominance of The Sims. Could InZoi be the new Sims killer? Only time will tell, but its arrival certainly adds an exciting new dynamic to the world of life simulation games.
Yeah... This feature list is worrying coming from EA. It's both ambitious and suspiciously free from the get go. To me that means the base game will be bare bones, but just good enough to get people's hopes up and hooked onto the idea that they can eventually build the game up to what they want it to be if they just buy oneee more tinesy tiny little expansion/dlc/micro-transaction (oh wait how did I just end up buying 40!?). Just like a snake-oil salesman convincing their mark that they simply can't live without a life-time supply of super rejuvenating sim-oil.
I like how the sims werewolves clips was in the video often. Its always been my favorite pack. But I wish we had bands in the sims. And a electric guitar! With working amps! Or creating orchestras. More music, I would like that.
No loading screens would be awesome, I want to be able to walk up the street and into someone’s house, cars would be cool and the need to pay for public transport in the early game, and it would be cool if you had to start with a rental rather then just buy a house straight away
First, does no one remember Sims Online from a million years ago. That was a mess. Second, I think the nonsubscription is a mistake. While it sucks to have to pay monthly, making something like 1.99 or something per month gives the developers money to pay with to make the game better even after the fad of a new DLC is over. I know no one is asking, but as an OG sims fan, I hope they can finally get it ALL right.
You don’t need a subscription for devs to continue improving their games. Cyberpunk has been getting updates for 3 years. BG3 is frequently getting updated with new content. Witcher 3 had two huge and very affordable DLCs. EA doesn’t care, so they don’t bother
Growing up I’ve always loved the Sims series . Sims four was the best one I enjoyed, but I didn’t like the lagging or the glitching but maybe sims 5 won’t be as glitchy as sims 4
@@TheWinchestaaaaa lot of people aren’t blinded by nostalgia and appreciate the new graphics of the sims 4, as well as other things that have been improved on. Yes, there are several things that are missing, but as a huge fan of ts3, I can confidently say I haven’t gone back to it as often as I play ts4
I am not blinded by nostalgia. Sims 4 is a failed multiplayer game. Sims 4 is lacking features that it’s single player predecessors had in there base game at launch. Even after almost 10 years. Modern maxis isn’t good at balancing lots of different gameplay styles. Not leaving out chaos as it ruined their stories.. They should have balanced better. Sims has a solid foundation. Why are they even bothering with multiplayer. A feature that failed them 5 times. I have no interest in playing animal crossing.
It's the year 2114 and the 100th anniversary of the Sims 4 is finally here, still no Sims 5 yet announced. Can you imagine EA and Maxis just waiting until the next century for a new Sims game to come out, none of us will be alive by the year 2114.🤣
Feature rundown: 1. New way for EA to micro$ 2. Giving EA your face/data 3. Cutscenes (hopefully toggle) 4. "F2p"... EA 5. Gives me mod compatibility concerns
Definitely not, it has to run on phones. you want to deal with managing a pile of files in a "launcher" on a mobile device, where the management has to work on (in the case of mostly android i suppose) all the various flavours existing at one time.
I play the multiplayer mod w my brother and it is a lot of fun. I can't imagine online sims would be a safe choice 😭 they would probably add millions of more micro transactions and the gameplay would most likely be limiting. If they did go down the route of online multiplayer however, they had better keep the option to play single player as well.
We simmers want to see our sims experience chaos, like getting robbed, getting killed by a meteor, getting bit by shark, house burns to the ground, stepped on by horse. I miss this part of the game in the sims 4. In the sims 4 you get a controlled dose of the chaos but we should have it all.
Hopefully as single player hasn’t failed them like multiplayer. Multiplayer gave them the abysmal launch of Sims 4. They were very lucky that there wasn’t any competitors.
Wants for Sims 5: Open world that's decent sizes not too small, but not too big and also have great and necessary packs, cars also other transportation like rideshare, trains, motorcyles, all CAS sliders, unlimited lifespan, sims 2 interactions with everything, Sims 4 CAS items editing, Sims 4 graphics, keep the cheats, realistic life stages, no broken updates, also keep the sims 4 get to work and dine out ideas for packs because they were great for gp, play inside all career buildings and school buildings, also allow the modders to continue realism with their cc, for example insimnia with the food cc. Again this is all wants.
Its going to be GaaS always online game with shared worlds where you can only control one househould at a time and leveling skills and careers will take a ton of grinding to make people pay to speed up progress.
cc creators will be working overtime with everything needing to be purchased. i already can’t remember the last pack i bought bc i just get everything in mods or cc. i do love the idea of having a world with my brother since we usually play together.
How's that even going to work? The multiplayer world just sounds like an attempt to foster FOMO in impressionable people. Consider that unless all players involved in a session have bought the same DLC, you're going to get into group situations where one person has access to certain items that others don't. On the one hand, it might give you a chance to test out things you don't own by using items that belong to other multiplayers...but on the other hand people are going to want to start buying packs just to flex in multiplayer. EA is too far out of touch; I wouldn't jump on the hype train just yet. Wait till you see the price tag on the DLC for it first. I'm betting the expansions will be priced at around 60 dollars and that you'll have the option of buying certain items individually; AKA: microtransactions. There's nothing new here except a potential face-lift, some mechanics changes that are just reversions to Sims 3 tools, and more euphemisms for the same old cash grab. Not too many people interested in shelling out another couple grand for another unsatisfactory Sims game.
I miss being able to run my own daycare at my house on Sims 3. I hope maybe they can add something similar to that into Sims 5. The neighborhood would drop their kids off at my house in the morning and pick them up when they got off work.
with the multiplayer they should make it kind of like sims 4 where there's multiple neighborhoods or just make it so certain saves can be a multiplayer save that way you can still have both
Im hoping to have an open world with other players walking around but your lots are personal like your island in animal crossing. Having it where you only meet people you know can be isolating if none of your friends play the game too. 😢

Its to bad Life By You GOT Cancelled. NOW we HAVE to WAIT for games like, paralives and Inzoi.
Which I hear Inzoi IS doing good so far. 👍✌

Sad but so true.
Wait for the christmas event! A free ugly christmas sweater with the worst combination of colors and it glitches with the pants!!🥰

EA makes boardroom games: Games designed by suits and accountants prioritizing cash flows and financial results over creativities and fun. They’re still fun in some ways but you’ll have to take them for what they are.
@@NoShame86 I won't take them at all, then, thank you very much.
I hope they bring the cars back to sims. Because in Sims 4 I miss this
Funny thing is: Sims 2 had cutscenes, and they were removed on Sims 3. Nothing new, old ideas that worked are being used again~
I feel that EA gave the developers too little time to finish the game well to receive the money ahead of time or that simply to save budget they omitted to add details like sims 2. And not just simple details in the graphics and the look of the game but in actions, scenes and very small things that made the game feel comfortable to play
Sims 10
Lol…i started playing the sims 3 not too long ago (after getting bored with ts4) and when i’m ready to move on, i’m going to replay the ts2 😌
free to play...is always the most expensive option
Always !
not always, The base game of Sims 4 was pay to play and you still had to pay for the packs for the game to be entertaining enough.
@@GuayabaContentajust pirate packs
It was confirmed by EA for 2024 or latest 2025.

InZoi? Is it like Paralives?
Very promising! But can we trust? I hardly think so. The Sims loves teasing their players, gives with a teaspoon takes back with a bowl…
It would be cool if they made a pack where’s there a grocery store and you have to buy ingredients (in store, online, or phone) in order to actually cook.
I’m going to hope to god that they will be more creative and bring newer things that wasn’t already in any other sims series.
and being back some older features like multiplayer
Like Will Wright’s second hand failed idea
Literally like more plot
we need to be able to create a world like in sims 2 and 3
Add Quests, EA! goddamn. Sims3 is still the best
If you want ftp and quests... you should try out Palia.
I just want a remastered Sims(3) that supports 64 bit.
You can but not everyone else will see it if your playing with others
Minecraft multiplayer is a thing 💀
tell me you know nothing about games without saying it.. you definitely CAN mod online games how do you think fortnite and gta 5 got this far still being relevant to this day? because of mods being implemented for creators to make content, sims is no different.
A lot of people have asked for multiplayer in the sims for years. I’m not one of them but I’m really not surprised it’s here.
I just hope the Sims ain't too realistic I like seeing the art style in the Sims makes it cement to me that they aren't humans like I can kill a sim cuz like I know they aren't real but I'd feel horrible to kill something that looks so much like a human ya know
I also hope that genetics come back like sims 3 the kids would inherit their parents hair color I also hope that when Sims dye their hair that it won't pass down to their kids cuz honestly doesn't make sense

I'm both excited and apprehensive. I've spent a lot of money on Sims4. It kinda sucks to see that go to waste.
Same. I haven’t played in years and just came across it again about two months ago. Obv fell into the rabbit hole again lol but now a little upset I got sims 4 and a few packs vs sims 3
That's how Sims 4 made me feel about Sims 3. Except I never bought in to Sims 4. Fool me once...

I hope they make it multiplayer online version that u can visit a local area and meet other sims player around the world. That would be something new
That would be ace
1-Multiplayer…don’t care
2-I don’t play myself in the Sims, the fun is creating a character that’s not me. I’m a legacy/family/totational player and none of my characters are ‘me’.
3-Cut scenes-cool
4-free to play.
They had multiplayer in Sims 2, it will likely be similar but available online.
The only way im getting this
1) eyelashes
2) empty free build maps
3) height changer
4) better skintones
After sims 4 happend.. i have a veryyyy low expectation on this release.. i wish they only improve and not take out some main core sims expirience..
Soo excited for the open-world play. I downloaded Sims 4 but hadnt played it since 2019, I stuck with sims 3 since then.
Never heard of InZoi. Is it like Paralives?
You should look it up! It looks amazing.
Aww man I can’t wait for the release and I would wait until it’s fully Baked. This game is going to be a masterpiece

1. New way for EA to micro$
2. Giving EA your face/data
3. Cutscenes (hopefully toggle)
4. "F2p"... EA
5. Gives me mod compatibility concerns
I hope they gives us CC for PS4&5!!!!!!!!
this is not gonna happen and EA has nothing to do with that
Definitely not, it has to run on phones. you want to deal with managing a pile of files in a "launcher" on a mobile device, where the management has to work on (in the case of mostly android i suppose) all the various flavours existing at one time.
The fact that it’s gonna have a selfie maker portion that’s gonna be freaking awesome!!!
That was a feature in The Sims 1.
Who keeps thinking that Sims multiplayer is a good idea?? Please, just stop!!
I play the multiplayer mod w my brother and it is a lot of fun. I can't imagine online sims would be a safe choice 😭 they would probably add millions of more micro transactions and the gameplay would most likely be limiting. If they did go down the route of online multiplayer however, they had better keep the option to play single player as well.
exactly. just look at the sims onlines history
Like? We didn’t ask for that crap
The Sims 2 has cutscenes for things like the very first kiss, first WooHoo, and childbirth.
I quit playing The Sims 4 because they kept charging an arm and a leg for each pack and literally every pack is broken.

Wants for Sims 5:
Open world that's decent sizes not too small, but not too big and also have great and necessary packs, cars also other transportation like rideshare, trains, motorcyles, all CAS sliders, unlimited lifespan, sims 2 interactions with everything, Sims 4 CAS items editing, Sims 4 graphics, keep the cheats, realistic life stages, no broken updates, also keep the sims 4 get to work and dine out ideas for packs because they were great for gp, play inside all career buildings and school buildings, also allow the modders to continue realism with their cc, for example insimnia with the food cc. Again this is all wants.
Free to play is not good. That just means every little thing is behind a pay wall. Optional multilayer is a great idea though.

EA Games have done their fanbase dirty taking as much money from their fanbase as they can. I'm not buying Sims 5 and DLCs the price of a new game 🤡
Also I'm tired of just clicking.. I want to move my Sims on my own!
It needs to be like sims 2. Being able to control your sims like we used too. 😑😑

with the multiplayer they should make it kind of like sims 4 where there's multiple neighborhoods or just make it so certain saves can be a multiplayer save that way you can still have both
Im hoping to have an open world with other players walking around but your lots are personal like your island in animal crossing. Having it where you only meet people you know can be isolating if none of your friends play the game too. 😢
I've never understood why cutscenes were dropped after the Sims 2… That was pretty much the best feature.
