🔴Slim Your Summer Shorts In 2 Minutes!🔴- ruclips.net/video/ENwCy_tPBRs/видео.html
I used this method on a pair of jeans that l thrifted. Perfection!!!
Nice video! Probably worth mentioning that if you use this method, you actually need to measure ½ the amount you want to trim. In your example, if you measure 2”, you’ll be trimming 4” off with the fold.
Also, for those with a zipper foot, use a zipper foot instead to get closer to the original hem; and in the absence of a hump jumper, folded fabric under the back of the presser foot works just as well (so you don’t have to raise the presser foot and lose thread tension).
Keep ‘em coming!
Yup, that's why I mentioned that the factory hem was a half inch, meaning I would have only taken off an inch and a half if I measured from the bottom.
@@StylishDTailors huh? No, he was talking about the fold not the factory hem. If you take off 2 in of folded fabric you're actually taking off 4 in from the total length of your jeans. Anyways, thanks for the video.
Derp, I cant read…my bad!
Glad I read your comment before making my pants too short.
Both true. Saw this at a lady's sewing ytc.
I love how concise you are, nothing worse than a video that has useless chatter. Thanks! Great video!!!
Glad it was helpful! That definitely annoys me too!
Facts
Massive facts. Look at me trying to speak Gen Z. Am I doing it right? Am I on fleek?
@@StylishDTailorsYou're one of us now LOL 😆
No cap bro!! I think…right?
Happy Memorial Day, SD! I tailored some joggers that were too long and wide in the inside seam following your 'sweatpants to jogger' and 'how to hem jeans' tutorials. Found you way back in 2020. Thankful I was finally able to put your teachings to use. This project took less than an hour. I'd rate my final results 7/10. And that's super high because I'm very new to sewing and I'm sometimes sloppy because I'm impatient. ❤❤
One of the best RUclips vids I have seen in a while. Extremely clear, great editing, narration and no fast forwarding through mindless chatter. Thank you!!
Glad you liked it!
Nice! I have not touched anything sewing or otherwise in years! This was delightful 💞! I use to visit the mill every weekend for beautiful fabrics ❤! Thank you 👑
I just stumbled on your page. Wow! This is just what I've needed. I like to quilt, but have always struggled with garments. These lessons are great. Subscribing. 🤗
Wow, thanks! I was wading through several very lengthy videos to do this and yours is great, short, and to the point. Much appreciated!
Glad it helped!
I love your fast, but complete, instructions. Going to try hemming a pair of jeans now.
I sent pictures to people, I was so excited that my hemmed jeans looked so nice! Thank you!!!
Thank you! This is awesome. You make these simple to learn.
Just discovered your channel and I love it! Now I have to watch them all.
LET THE BINGE TAILORING COMMENCE!
You are a legend and a scholar. This is exactly the video men need. Thank you sir.
Great video! Right to the point very clear. Keep it up!
Your video gives me the confidence to hem jeans. I am very, very new to sewing. Hubby gave me a sewing machine for my birthday so I could hem his jeans. Really liked the close up shots. Especially the shot showing you pulling the pins out as you sew - duhhhhh I was sticking myself as I was feeding the material. Now I know to remove the pins as I sew the seam. I'll be back for more videos. Thanks.
Wow that was super informative, and as always you make it look super easy!
Glad you liked it!
yooo!! I'm so glad i found this channel! I wanna start tailoring my own clothes. thanx man keep up the good work.
You can do it! Good luck with the impending addiction!
Wow! AMAZING tutorial. Thank You!!!
Terrific tutorial! I am only 5ft. tall and must hem every pair of pants that I buy even if they say ‘petite’. I have a very old sewing machine which doesn’t have the piece that’s removable, and unfortunately I wasn’t able to sew them on the machine. So I sewed them by hand, which did not take very long and they came out perfectly! Wish I had seen this video sooner, then all of my other jeans would look so much better. TY!
Glad it was helpful! That's awesome you were still able to accomplish it by hand!
I needed this 15 years ago 😊
I did the waist, now I shortened my first leg! Thanks so much! It's quite a bit of fun too!
Awesome to hear you took the challenge!
Just did it! Thanks D! Loving my results!!
Great job!
You have great tutorials !
Honestly I never thought I'd ever be so interested in sewing till I stumbled onto a video of yours and now I just keep watching different vids and looking for things to alter , thx !
Maybe you could post how to replace the elastic on basketball shorts cause I have a few faves I'd like to keep !
Thanks for the kind words! Replacing the elastic you say…that sounds like fun…hmm…
Instant sub, you deserve it
worked perfectly!
Just what I was looking for👍
Genial, gran tip y excelente video 👏👏👏👏
You’re a legend.
That was like watching a magic trick. I'm amazed. Thank you.
life saving content! appreciate it as always.
You bet!
Recently bought same exact size Levi's that I bought a year ago. Legs were 2 inches longer than old jeans. Go figure, Levi Strauss. Used your method and my new jeans are exactly like the old ones. THANK YOU!
So awesome, glad it worked out for you!
Clear, no baloney, fun to listen to. Well played, mate.
Thanks I appreciate that!
Great video with awesome instructions
Glad you liked it!
Finally something for "dummies". I just want to do this quickly and efficiently. Great video. Thanks!
You're welcome, thanks for watching and I'm. glad you enjoy it!
Great video!
Hey SD. I've been tailoring my clothes for years because of long torso, arm, neck, short legs and flat… you get it. I’d love to see you branch out and include making us odd body men be able to look as good as you do.
For sure man, I definitely need to branch out more and be more creative! It’s gonna be a fun summer!
Wow i just alter my friend's denim in old method ways before I watch this 😅 maybe next time i can try again with this method, thanks SD. You always being innovative with sewing's idea
Glad it was helpful for ya! Next time definitely give this method a shot!
Wow this is the best video tutorial on jeans, thank you ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Million Sub channel here, great stuff keep it up!
DUDE!!!! Thanks 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I’ve never seen a better way of promoting people to subscribe in a video 😂
Only in 2.34 minute a video with such detail? Unbelievable. Speechless amazing
Crazy huh??
I think before looks better but still appreciate the work you've done for the video =)
Excelente,me encantó,lo haré, gracias, saludos 🙋👍🇲🇽
Perfection, thank you!!
Glad you like it!
Fabuloussss!!!!!!
Thanks Bro.
Genius
GREAT CONTENT BROTHER!!👍👍👍
Thank you!!
dude. i did it. i actually tailored a pair of jeans…. myself. thank you! i feel so much more confident in these. and i am an awkward weight/height so finding perfect jeans is always impossible.
Great job! Now let the tailoring binges begin!!!
re: getting over the hump - if you raise your zipper foot, make sure your needle is down through the fabric; otherwise you will lose your "place". Also, I had better luck getting close to the factory hem using a straight stitch. Thanks !
Also be careful because when you raise your presser foot you loose your stitch tension.
Im 5'2 so its really hard to find a jean in both the mens aisle and boys aisle. Apparently, anything from 5' to 5'4 just simply doesn't exist. It's so annoying
This gave me the confidence to try it. Mine didn't turn out perfect (mistakes were made lol). But it turned out quite well for my first hemming. Thanks!!
Awesome to hear you made the attempt!!
Great presentation!
Tom Byrne
cool 🙂 I could ve not immagined I d find this interesting. All the best
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome trick specially for us short guys, it seems like they don't jeans any shorter than 30 inches inseam great explanation
Glad you liked it!
Brilliant from😊 England 🇬🇧
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
That is useful!
Glad you think so!
Subscribed! Hi from Paraguay!
Awesome to have you here!
Thank you
I used to do this 25 years ago in Iran
Just found you. Your spectacular!!!! Thank you 😀
You are so welcome
Video I need.
Wow thank you subscribed
Welcome!
Just WOW! However, my jeans are quite tapered so when I sew the hem up the leg, it ends up with a gathered effect, if you know what I mean, since the hem is narrower than the new position on the leg. Had to unpick the sewing. What to do here? Thank you!!!
I would suggest creating a new hem in that situation actually!
SD, I am curious if you could make a video about using measurements for tailoring clothes? I dont know if you have one already but if I measured myself, or had a tailor give me my measurements, wouldnt this make tailoring my clothes quicker because I can make them match the measurements each time without having to put them on each time first?
I appreciate all of your videos and your energetic personality!
That's a great idea, I made one awhile ago but it isn't very good so I'll remake it!
Could you make a video about how to shorten a short, the perfect short length and all? Thanks!
Solid idea!
This will work if youre only trimming an inch or two, but almost all modern cuts have some degree of taper towards the ankle meaning that the more you remove, the more mismatch there will be between the leg and the cuff.
I just had to subscribed to your channel when you popped up out of the blue eating crackers and said “I think you should subscribe”. I really got a big kick out of that , it was great! 😆
Glad you liked it! I'm actually eating Cheese Its right now haha!
Nice vídeo, simples anda well explained, one more subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
Nice. I'd also say, begin and end with a back stitch just in case.
Good call!
It can't be this simple, can it? I'm impressed with this method of hemming.
It definitely can be yes! Give it a shot!
Tried it today. It really was this simple. I'd say wear the pants after each step to double confirm the end results are good. And if you stitch them wrong, just go in with a seam ripper. Thread is cheap, having to find new pants to tailor is not. Good luck!
Thank you for the tutorial! Does this work as well with flared jeans? 5ft girl problems 😆
Yes it does! The dimensions might be difficult to work with as the flare won't be as flared in the end.
Wow!!!!😊😊😊
Love your channel! Have you ever considered tailoringing a game jersey (football)? I always love the way they fit except the billowy shoulders and tiny sleeves (meant for the pads). Is this too big a job to make one fit for casual street wear? Or do you have the magic secret to make it work :-)
That sounds like a great idea. I’ll use my Vikings jersey they wore in the Super Bowl.
*Wait…*
@@StylishDTailors 😂
Wow
One question on this, others say use a zipper foot, but you don't. would it make it easier to use the zipper foot?
you are cool!
Excelent
"I think you should subscribe" 🤣
TE QUEDO CORTO ESO AMIGO!!!
The random “I think you should subscribe” with a box of Cheez-Its 😂
Hopefully it worked!
Can u make a video same how to cut bottom true religion jean
Great way to do it but im GenX and would cut the bottom of i grew up with Rock bands and the best jeans ever 😊
I did it and it looks great! But I went a little too short. I used a pair of pants I don't care about so it's not a big deal. ha
Great job! Now you know for next time. I STILL mess things up to this day...
Please make for jogger sweat pant.
Already did actually!

What happened to the pins when you started sewing
I took them out as I went along
Gonna try that myself, instead of using machine that I don't have. Gonna use needle and thread and my fingers
That can definitely be done too!
I found a pair of White Oak Cone Denim but they are 32 inseam and I wear 30. I am sweating to the thought of cutting these pants. That being said, this tutorial was pretty good. Now, let me get some courage and get this job done.
Did you try it yet??
@@StylishDTailors yes, it took me some time, but got it done with your instructions.
Awesome to hear!
Hello friend, you have a good channel congratulations, I want to ask you if you could make a video how to downsize to a padded jacket?
Thanks! Like a suit jacket?
Hello friend is a jacket for the winter
que güeva.
As a beginner which sewing machine would you recommend.
To be honest anything used that you can find online will work great!
Love from india 😍😍🥰 🇮🇳
Thank you so much!
How to make borderline high waters LMBO!!
Haha! Let the floods commence!
I need to do this. All my Jen’s are too long on me.
I did this, and it looks great, but now the edge keeps turning up, how can I stop this
Hmm I would suggest ironing it down if that happens
🎉
What brand and model of sewing machine are you using in the video? Thanks in advance. BTW, love love love your short intros and none of the long boring blah blah blahs trying to round up subscribers! Of course we'll naturally subscribe if we love a channel! Subscribing now!
Thanks for the awesome comment! I use a Brother ST371HD, I LOVE it but it's kinda overkill for beginners.
Does it look good if i sew it with hand?
Only one way to find out, what are you waiting for??
