My favourite song from Gladys Knight and The Pips …..a timeless classic that will still be listened to in 50 years time
Brilliant
Mine too......Perfection!
This is just incredible! No wooaaagh hoo hoo nonsense like Beyonce and modern singers, just smooth power, like comparing a Jaguar to a Mini!
Gladys Knight , rightly called the Empresses of soul , one of the all time great singers , who deserves far more credit , unforgetable vocalist .
This is how female singers sing no screaming screeching...pure class from miss knight
Here Here ain’t many could hold a candle to her? Maybe “ J hud” plus a couple but Gladys is the real deal cuz my Mom said so……..
No sexual references,no swearing,respectfully dressed,all in all great !!!
@@iloveyouhunny well it was the 70s, but yeah great soulful song, better times etc.
@@iloveyouhunnythat’s because the song content has nothing to do with that 😂
Always is. My first musical memory was a Gladys tune: If You Ever Get Your Hands On Love from 1967. Over 50 years later, it STILL gives me goosebumps when I hear that bassline opening few bars.
Trust me... Absolutely heart grabbing song ❤
Gladys is an amazing singer .I was at university in 1977..Wow played this song over and over..Now in 2021 I'm 67 yrs old still listens to this song
Me 2 🥰
Great song, singer and group. Takes me back to a family holiday in Germany near the start of the school summer holidays in 1977. Carefree times. My sister sang "baby my love is on the line, don't hang your washing up," to this.
👍💯
Love it 💕 17 when this was released , she’s a legend 🙏

I personally think this is their best song
70s and 80s were the years of music!
Still listening in 2023 😊
This song came on in the supermarket I ran into to quickly buy a drink on my rushed way into work yesterday afternoon. I was instantly slowed down. No.....actually I was stopped. Who cares if I was late to work? I was lost in the wonderful piece of 70s music I was completely unexpectedly hearing. A wonderful three minutes. (But, sorry Morrisons, it didn't make me buy anything more than the 500ml bottle of lime Pepsi Max I originally went in your supermarket for! Ha ha!)
I just love this song, brings back memories. Time-machine anyone? I want to go back.
If only politicians listened to music like this...
Who’s getting up out of the chair having a dance now, great music ,happy times, yesssss

Might video it and send it to my kids SERIOUS Dad dancing 🕺😬😂 I was playing,,,,I'm doing fine now without you baby,,,, by Newyork City. Another great song I would give everything I have to go back to that happy era. Have a great day Liz, such a sweet reply to Anthony looking to be another nice day here❤🏴
@@peterbalac1915 Well hello to a kindred spirit. When my adult kids visit n I dance they tell me I look as if I'm having a fit. One way to get rid of them, they don't seem to think I was young. I dance to great music which should be played loud. So you get your music on n dance as if nobody is watching. Happy dancing, fae ma wee toon in Scotland.
We all need Gladys at certain times..
A man after my own heart Tommy, well said.
Gladys, so smooth, so sultry, so soulful! She is a true legend!

This is why young black men love older black women. An older woman is the best thing that ever could happen to an young black man
If I could bottle the joy and memories this song evokes and sell it, in be a millionaire.
Every few days I keep coming back to this song. We've been through some tough times this year and having a bit of the magic of my childhood is a real help. It made my day when I was 8 years old and it still does today. Turn it up and do your neighbours a favour!

60s 70s the best days ever to be young
Thts when it was music and respect old days only way
I moved to tht song
Seriously lifted women of the dance floor.
No gimmicks.just class music needed.
What a good looking woman.
Transports me right back to 1978..
I used to go ice skating in the 70s, this puts me straight back there, dancing as you go round, love it
Walked into a bar in 1977 this record was playing on the juke box mar just thought o my whose this what a a piece of timeless music still sounds the same tday classic
This song gets better and better
1970S THE BEST MUSICAL DECADE.
Many memories so beautiful!
I am just 36years old .95% of all music today sticks.I like songs like this a lot and this one is just a masterpiece!!!!
I often think about Van McCoy working with Flo Ballard back around 68, he didn't zero in on his classic sound yet, I sure would have loved if she had lived and worked again with Van, Gladys and the Pips had some great Albums back in the mid 70's, "Home is were the Heart is" "Walk softly" "to make a long story short" some of my favorites
This beautiful song climbed to No.4 in the UK in the summer of 1977.
One of her finest songs
Something good comes from lock down, we remember good music...
The greatest smile in music!!!
To those who are from 2030, I’m from 2020 and I wanna give you an advice.. "you should listen to that classical songs and plz listen to Gladys"
I saw Gladys Knight and the Pips live in Manchester about 50 years on the same bill as Stevie Wonder. It was a magical night.
I remember this song from my local boys club disco, fantastic music and times, just wish I could go back and have my youth all over again. Sat in my house isolating due to Covid 19, dont times change.
Keep Safe all !!!!!!!!
Fantastic song, beautiful voice and harmonies. Love the video too - they look like they're enjoying it!
Listening in 2021 wishing it was the 70s
Puts today's music to shame.
These so called artists today need to listen to the music of this time.
Never get bored of listening to this.
We lost another another legend today.
RIP ARETHA
Absolutely!
True!
Yeah so cool 😊
Reminds me of finishing my highers( failing miserably) and a stinking cold.
But happiness and relief.
Amen!
Awesome track from awesome times ❤️👍
Raw talent, never to be repeated, end of !.
Sadly singers these days will not be remembered with love like this.
This tune emphasised what the 70s was all about clothes songs dancing all night to great songs at the Dixie Lang night club and Tiffany’s club Southport that particular song was played by Tony Blackburn once then again something I never heard of on radio 1 great memories
