I loved this show, so did my Mother. I remember watching American Bandstand and then Soul Train. We cleaned house on Saturday watching and dancing. Then we couldn't go to the skating rink until we watched the Lawrence Welks Show, and the Porter Wagner Show 😊❤️✌️❤️🌼

I am 75 and everybody rocked this song. I thought of it as the Black National Anthem. But everyone loved the vibe of this song...including me and I am white as snow.

I miss dancing like this. I'm from this Era and we didn't do all them stupid twines. We danced one on one.
Absolutely. It was pure soul dancing.
Why is breaking, cabbage patch, peewee Herman, electric slide..etc considered "stupid twine"? Don't get me wrong, that's one of my jazz, especially the remix.
Back when was music not this rap crap or n noise
Man I miss Soul Train.

Just listen to that base line pulling the song along and filling space in the rhythm at the same time...Genius. ✌
Just one of the songs they would play when you went out in the 1970s, and had a really good night out dancing with the babes. Another time, another world 😎

This song has one of the most iconic bass lines of any song from the70’s 😎
This song always gets me upbeat when I’m feeling down. One of the very best! Those first 15 seconds are MAGICAL!! Philly Soul forever and ever! 🎶
Agreed. The intro (and it's more like 18 seconds)! The strings punctuated with the bass, and coaxed along by the horns is magical, practically mystical for me! Those luscious strings throughout the song. OMG!
Its the one

No need to apologize AT ALL and overall, times were great back then! Our women were more desirable, times were simpler, Saturdays were sacred because of Saturday Morning Cartoons, Soul Train, the Kung Fu Theater, Weekday Afternoons whether it was PBS or regular TV, not to mention social gatherings, and the SWC (Southwestern Conference)!

Hi sweety, yes he is throwing that head to that music, it was to the beat of the music. We are fortunate to have music that carried us away into the zone, you don't get that these days. Did you ever wonder so many songs are derived from the "old school" music?
