Being much older than many fans I remember counting down the 1999 New Year and I can’t stress enough how much many feared the new year. Some partied like it was the end (the singer Prince’s song "party like it’s 1999".) Others took the survival route and stock up on food, water and supplies just in case. We were all just a little scared. In the end the world didn’t blow up. We were faced with lots of problems but it was up to each of us what we did about that. I think that Blessed-Cursed symbolizes this very well. It is an in your face declaration of “I'm going my own way whether you like it or not.” That is part of growing up even for thousand year old vampires or teens becoming adults. It’s also a choice for Idols who want to be artists, something that all the members of Enhypen talk about all the time. In recent interviews Jay, Heeseung and Jungwon all talked about working on writing their own music. The others talk about how much they love the direction of their latest title tack. This long winded post is to say I agree with your theory. Blessed-Cursed is a great song but it’s also a very deep song. That's one of the reasons I love it so much.
I feel like this song is supposed to symbolise a shift in the type of music Enhypen will do. From the 19 to 20, Enhypen will also start a new chapter in their career or at least storyline. They will no longer be controlled by the "server" and instead live how they want to. They no longer care about the hater or critics, who say that they are leeching off of bts' or txt's success as you mentioned, and instead make their path. We will no longer see them through a screen, as in internet persona with the perfect and lavish life, and instead, the red pill will bring Engene closer to Enhypen. idk that's my take on this mv

The red and blue pill thing is also shown a lot in let me in. As you said about choosing to live in a lie but the truth unfolding itself, Sunoo drinks a blue drink and the scene turns red, he realizes the truth and drops the lie. But the whole setting itself has red and blue colors like the blue museum and the forest with red sky, which is kind of sugarcoated with blue, the lie, so the truth is hard to accept. And the blue sinkhole they're looking down from the red forest is like that even though they realize the truth, they're thinking about whether to go back to the lie or to stay with the truth. Then it seems like as if these two dimensions (museum and forest) meet, so lie meets truth? And the space scene which has both red and blue seems like they're indecisive between lie or truth. Also that liar poster. The hand is blue and the word liar is red. Just my thoughts on the red, blue, truth, lie aspect 😁

I love the lyrics of this song because they´re crystal clear about the subject. Listening to TXT and BTS sometimes is easy to tell that they are trying through their songs to talk about serious issues: the problems of the industry and our society, but I always have the same question: Why? Being part of an industry that is not just capitalist but based on consumerism I was shocked to find lyrics that talk against a lot of the base ideas of the sistem, because even when the idols have some creative freedom there´s always the company behind. But with Enhypen my ideas were challenged. Their songs have been pretty direct in their message and it make clear (at least for me) that Hybe is letting, maybe because they want some kind of change, "revolutionary" ideas spread slowly in their music... If you think about it is on the same line of respecting the artists as persons (the big thing in enha with the vampirism representing the idol part and the human part in confrontation) and giving them more freedom (choices! another main theme in enha´s story), two thing that have established Hybe as a pioneer. On the other hand I really like your interpretation of the lyrics as a critique of consumerism! This song made me realize that I´m not the only one that reads some kpop songs as clear criticism on the socioeconomic sistem. Maybe all the companies are not the main villain hahaha. Good video, as always!
