Me and my friends have been doing F-150s at Tsukuba in the pouring rain on sports tires. It's so much fun trying to work in a dry line and not put a wheel out of place
Man the graphics still amaze me. GT7's the only game that fools me in certain scenes or perspectives that it's real life. Edit: A lot of discussion. For clarification I mean in certain specific instances it looks realistic. And in others it's clearly a video game. We haven't reached the point where any racing games look completely real, and we probably won't see this for a long time.
If you need ideas for GT7 challenge videos, there's a feature in Arcade mode where you can set the grids to use cars from your garage, because the AI are very easy for you in the auto-selected grids the game gives you so it might give you inspiration for some ideas.
Spa is another track that's terrifying in wet conditions, you miss a braking point by even a millimeter and it's pretty much "try not to die". And of course, because it's Spa it's almost always raining there at some point... usually in the corners that your car is worst at navigating.

I remember you (and every Sim Racing channel) looking down their noses at every version of Gran Turismo, and yet here you (and they) are really enjoying it.
Jimmy has said multiple times that he loves GT. Their physics aren't the most realistic from a sim racing perspective but they are fun games nonetheless.

I have watched it many times, but I find it not that good after the 6th season, but I would like you to come here after you finish it and I want to hear your opinion.
Actually the Turbo Carrera of 1975, 1976, and 1977 was the first street 911 to be turbocharged. It had a different whale tale and did not have an intercooler. In 1978 Porsche just called it the 911 Turbo added an intercooler and a different whale tale to accommodate it. During the life of the 911 turbo it kept the same rated horsepower but continually improved the delivery of power, so that by the late 1980s the boost didn't come on nearly as suddenly and it was much less prone to power on oversteer.
I absolutely love this game its amazing well worth the wait, im looking forward to content the add in the future,just starting my online journey now :)
9:30 brings back fond memories of playing GT6 decelerating the RUF Yellowbird (with no driving assists). I recall when slowing down for a corner I would reapply the brakes after every downshift. I forget why I was doing it. Brake fade minimization and car direction adjustment?
At 13:00 u can see how much better the wet weather is than the previous gt's. I hated how before u could just floor it and get up to any speed in the rain and stay stable
this has nothing to do with the video itself, but your voice is incredible I love watching (or well, listening) to your videos while doing stuff around my house, like cooking, cleaning, doing laundry etc. your voice is really soothing and relaxing, and it's awesome how excited you get about racing and how passionate you are about the games you play and this video was like ASMR lmao, with the rain, and the low revs and your soothing voice, it was quite nice!
@@interceptor-ss8kb Yeah I know what you mean!! I ended up setting the gearbox differently, setting the max speed to something stupid like 500kmh. That helped a lot. What you lose on the corners you make up for on the straights.
I've driven a few 911's hard in real life with less then optimal road surface conditions and they have a habit of you turn the wheel and wait.. meaning you have to think early to avoid disaster. They do handle and brake well enough to save yourself... "most" of the time.
I know that the car is stock and you wanted to keep everything as hard as possible. But just yesterday I learned the trick of adding weight to the front with the ballast to balance the weight of the rear engine. It makes the Porsches much easier to drive.
I'm so tired of hearing recreational video game players or gran turismo fans who want it to be so easy. We waited so long for a new one. And they did something I never expected and Im thrilled. To don moniker Greatest Sim Racing game was fun but it was an average physics racer in the past... now, it's so hard at times for me and I love it! Grip. Throttle control. Setups it's so on the edge in every area and so realistic. For isntance buy a GTR skyline soup it up go fast like Turismos of old, it won't turn. Steering hits fender and won't turn sharply out of the dealership unless! You go to tuning and raise mm Ride Height. Than you have a beauty. You gotta get involved and feather and know stuff it's everything and more

About 12 years ago I was on the M25 on Boxing Day in my E28 2.7 BMW and only the third lane had been cleared of snow. I reached a patch of black ice that was about a mile long, funnily enough I was following a mid 1980s Porsche 911 Turbo. It was a lot like this video. I decided he was more likely to spin than I was so let him stay about a hundred feet in front and somehow we both made it unscathed.
In Germany Back in the 80s they got a frase for this Car. I think the Translation in english would be Like "you buy to die" which means you buy this car to die in it. Which was not difficult to be onest.
I decided to take the R32 GTR out in the dry for the first time on the ring last night. With a 650pi and stock trans I was able to do a 7:38. I was pretty pleased with that. Although in FM6 I held the top time in the rain with all the rain races on the ring for C class in a Celica for a long time. I used to sit and knock out 5-10 laps a night trying to get the perfect lap and shave as much time off as possible. Took probably 6 months to get that top time using a pure grip build.
I personally think the hardest course for rain is Circuit de la Sarthe, with all its straightaways and tight corners right after. That one particular event in GT6 International A is still kicking my ass
one thing i would be so happy in new car games would be small dents, shoddy repairs and deteriorating interiors, would really put the realness in simulations
Anyone who's driven the Porsche cup races will know the frustration of trying to complete this event on gold without spending money on tuning the car, I'm speaking as an moderately casual gamer of course if you did get a gold I salute you, i settled for silver and moved on 🤣

The only IRL wet weather race I've run was a go-kart club race in middle school... I finished 3rd, but the track was so wet, it was hard staying in a straight line.

I'm truly impressed with the advancement in graphics, physics, and wheel technology nowadays. The last time I had a wheel was some 18 years ago. I had a box that could run the V8 Supercars version of some racing game and would spend hours upon hours driving the Bathurst (Mt Panorama) circuit. When I watch your videos I get an urge to upgrade my computer and invest in a wheel and pedal setup. Then I look at the cost of a good set-up and remember that I have 2 hectares of space in the back paddock and a few shit cars I could destroy out there IRL. Disclosure: I don't own the land, I rent a bit of space on it. And the shit cars I have I really need to look after so I can go grocery shopping in town.
You could try looking for a decent used gaming PC and an old Logitech G25/G27. I don't know what the market is like now but G27 used to be between 100-150 bucks I think. Cheaper than maintaining shit cars.

nurburgring is the hardest track to race other cars on the passing opportunities are few far between and always risky. add dark/rain and it's just bedlam. heavy rain tires aren't bad though

Yes, they haven't updated most of the car models. They need to start from scratch with roster of entirely new models.

My vote aswell I have a tuned charger hellcat and in the wet it's all over the place struggles to put the traction down

That's what my driving looks like when the ground is dry.
Wet line is different than race line because more oils and stuff on the race line that decrease traction in the wet.
