Hey Dan, Max Forti put you/ Gravitas in his top five 2020 releases today. Check out the live stream.
Oh wow. I’ll have to check that. Thanks Heri.
MrSmelly1977 Hey Dan. Max was cocked out of his mind I saw the empty Brandy bottle
Lmao. Joking. I agree with him. I love it.
Stay safe
Daver.
I recently purchased a decant of Floris 1962 and I would call it a soft coniferous fragrance. It's not a powerhouse. It's refined and classy as you suggest.
Yes good description . Thanks for the comment .
Love these themes Dan. I have Floris '62 and BDP. Love them both. I don't have loads of money spare to spend on fragrances but BDP will always be there. Fougere Royale is also a favourite. Loved your recent"aftershaves" video and am exploring those from Executive shaving. Eau Sauvage, Chanel PM and Guerlain heritage will always be in my collection as an older (46 yr old) man. Keep these coming Dan. Great content.
Thank you do much Sean. I appreciate the support .
That intro 😂😂😂
Thanks Jimmy!
Just a great video Dan. Floris 1962 is pure class, love the stuff; lots of compliments with that one! For those who haven’t seen it Lanier Smith did a wonderful unboxing video for Floris 1962 and his thoughts on a possible connection behind it; well worth checking out. Just got a 2018 new style bottle of BDP and absolutely no issues with the fragrance or performance. I get 12hrs no issues, it’s great; although I think New York Intense edges it for pure masculine classiness and performance. MDCI Invasion is a great pick as well! 👍
Thanks Cowboy. I saw the Lanier Smith 1962 unboxing and it was a great video.
Great video! This is the second one you’ve mentioned Sinatra’s link to Bois de Portugal. I read a biography a while back that said Sinatra “smelled of Yardley’s English Lavender and witch hazel.” Also said that he detested Aramis (which was Sammy’s signature scent). Not sure of the accuracy, but there it is.
I particularly like the Floris "Journals" series. Ironically, 1962 is the only one I don't have. I have 1927, 1976 and 1988. They are all fine fragrances with a genuine niche quality to them. I particularly like 1988. It is bright, charming and dynamic to wear. All of the fragrances have above average longevity and a scent bubble which is distinct, but not a room filler. This is more of a personal fragrance choice which will be picked up by those who are physically close to you.
Boy, these are all winners! Nice video and thanks for the great quotes in the beginning. Never heard these before and will take to heart!
😅😅😅@Jeremy...Dan, I always have my pen & paper to write down my "to try" & I was actually writing down the Plato quote then you throw in a real zinger; I stopped and said 'WTF?''😅- yeah you got me again lol. Floris 1962 sounds like something I'd like. The only Floris I've bought is Santal but that was ages ago.
Bois de Portugal is amazing. You told me to try Irish Tweed and that's on my list. Great video. 😅still laughing at Jeremy....oh that ego..
Is it bad form to 2nd comment on old vid? Just received backup bottle of Floris 1962 after recently testing in response to finding out about discontinuation. Truly a freshed up, more seasonably vesatile impression of Italian Cypress. Had totally forgotten you covered - well. Was v impressed sampling Floris line, though no more full bottles except 89. Shout out to pre-revolutionary usurping Smelly.
Bois du Portugal is my favorite creed I own
Absolutely love Portugal.... very much a special occasion scent.... the dry down is superb... for me fall/ winter.
Lovely video, great quotes -especially the first and the last- AdP OUD is one of my favorites in this field of fragrances because it’s sophisticated, while remaining approachable. (Obama’s potential signature scent?)
Thanks F H.
I’m glad you are excided about Floris 1962 ( I knew you would be) 😊 Great video!
I have a decant of Invasion Barbare on the way. As always thanks for the recommendation!
I’m 30 and I love Rive Gauche since I was a teenager!
That’s great Sergio! Anyone can wear these fragrances I say!
Jeremy’s quote might just be the most philosophical of the bunch but I’m only interested in what flavour milkshake he drinks and if he shops at Iceland 😃 great choices Dan. Viking would be a great addition 👌🏼
Ha ha. Thanks Tony. Yes Viking is a good one.
I had a sample of Floris 1962. It is a very beautiful fragrance. Some great choices in this list Dan. Thank you.
Thank you!!!!
Finally you got Invasion Barbare, it's on my top 3 frags of all time. I wouldn't say it's too mature, whilst Bois du Portugal is indeed
Hi Rafael. Yes it was high time I bought IB.
Great list, presentation. As a fan of Floris 89 and worshipper of Italian Cypress, gotta check out 1962. Use Duas Invasion Barbar Bois du Portugal versions as cool weather signatures. Great advice about not overspraying BdP for work; might have some experience with that he he. Great to see Gravitas' enduring success. Feel sorry for J Fragrance's dry cleaners.
Thanks Michael.
Just got your fragrance and it is fantastic! Thanks! Do another fougère please! :-)
Floris 1962 has been a staple of mine for a few years Dan. I used to wear Italian cypress but it didn’t perform on me at all but 1962 lasts like a champ. Beautiful, classy gentleman fragrance & i will always have a bottle. Out of interest Dan is it similar to mousse illuminee? I’ve yet try it and am thinking of pulling the trigger.
Mousse Illumiee is great and sort of similar. If sat Mousse is more green and piney and a bit less delicate . But equally brilliant.
MrSmelly1977 cheers Dan
I own a bottle Floris 1962 and it is an absolute winner! In my top 3 mature masculine fragrances for sure. Long May production continue.
I will never be without a bottle of Bois du Portugal.
Great choices. Thanks for the suggestions!
I opted for Floris 1976 instead as a more contemporary and slightly more in Aventus category frag, as I felt 1962 was too old school. I did consider MDCI but since I already have Creed Viking and your Gravitas (I find both to be in the same genre and more interesting than IB). I sold my Bois Du Portugal to get Royal Oud instead for exact reasons you mentioned but objectively if my wife did not hate it with all her passion, I wouldn’t: the BDP dry down is great and doesn’t feel dated to me at all (unlike the stuffy opening).
Thanks Serge. Good descriptions . I must try 1976.
Good timing, this video. I just found a gray in my beard at 34
Ha ha! Hopefully it’s just a one off Rich!
@@MrSmelly1977 fucking wants to be you know 😂
Looking forward to you smelling those samples. Send me an email
Bois Du Portugal is £190 at allbeauty.com for 100ml. Awesome fragrance. When you picked up the Floris bottle I said Bois Du Portugal and then went huh!?
Knew it would be in there, I can't blame you, great video Dan. Thank you
Jeremy Fragrance, so wise...so deep
Yes!
Invasion Barbare is incredible and one of my all-time top 5 fragrances. I wish someone would review Xerjoff's Dhofar. I think you'd love it Dan.
I will hope to try that Xerjoff.
Now that I am 55, I think I must be a mature man. Can’t seem to find anyone to confirm this. Can’t wait to own my own bottle of Gravitas. Bentley Intense has been my go-to fragrance for winter so am looking forward to trying the second scent. Cheers.
Thanks my friend. Love your channel.
Hi Smelly..I love the old school scents like you do..which do you think I could wear in high heat?
Favorite Mature niche: Histoires de Parfum 1725 Casanova
That’s a lovely one too A H. I have it and enjoy it a lot.
Love the intro as always and 3 fantastic picks my friend. Hope all is well Dan. Stay safe:)
Thanks a lot Ryan. I hope you are ok too!
Great video and I enjoyed it and I'm going to try these fragrances and have a blessed day
Thanks Michael. You too.
You welcome keep up the good work and thank you very much
Intro was hilarious. Thank you
Bois du Portugal is one of my favorites. Still looking to get a sample of Invasion Barbare and now I will look for 1962 as well.
Thanks M P.
@ M P thescentedgent on ebay for floris 1962 😉
Stoicism for the win. Solid philosophy, especially if you don't wear pants and need to think on your feet
Exactly!
That intro killed me ⚰️
Own and love all of the three you mentioned. Does that mean... I'm old? (41)
It means you are a man of sophisticated taste!
@@MrSmelly1977 yes, totally agree, but, it really does mean he's old as well!!! Actually not so much enjoyIng those fragrances, but the fact he's posted his age, once you hit 40 that's it, your OLD!!! Finally accepted it myself and have started to relish it.
Dan, you’re the ultimate salesman.
Let’s talk about fragrances but before all that, have you heard of this one?
Ha ha!!! Yes!
Great list! I've smelled the Floris and Creed and agree they are really nice fragrances for mature men. I haven't smelled the MDCI, but am currently testing out some of their more feminine offerings and have found some gems. Thanks for the laugh! #wisewordsofjeremyfragrance
Thank you so much. Love your vids by the way. Subscribed!
@@MrSmelly1977 Thank you so much!
Jeremy's right. Screw underwear. I don't remember the rest but I'm sure it made sense. Forget the pants too. Slap on Invasion Barbare and get to work. 🏃
Lol! 😂😂😂
Exactly! He’s a wise man.

Jeremy stole that from Churchill.. .🤷
Do you ever get a reaction from Jeremy Fragrance or does he choose to ignore you?
Occasionally he has commented on my videos. I actually have a lot of respect for him and my jokes are not meant with any malice.
Yes , less is more
I may not have grown up but I can wear these and fake it until I make it 😂
Absolutely!!!!
