Imagine two clockwork toys -- one completely encased to look like a soldier and the other with its gears and levers exposed. The later would be considered dry, because it no longer gives the illusion of the soldier. Some board games try to hide their mechanisms behind theme and story. I like how honest you are. It is dry... And dry isn’t really the word I would use. I would say it’s a lot like 300 others I’ve played and the theme doesn’t make it stand out. Good game. One Indont intend to play soon. But if a friend wants to try- I will.
I'm glad I watched this video as I was playing the same rule wrong on how the solo bot takes tokens - I was playing it the same as the human player when in fact you take what is on its card. Good spot. Thanks.
This one is a bit of a hit and miss for me. I enjoyed the playthrough very much and agree with most of your opinions on this game. Its most appealing feature is the solo mode. But for replay ability..... I don't know if I would want to play it more than once or twice. I prefer strong thematic in my Euros. The Artistry is also very important. give me something more Lacerda and Turczi with Ian O'Tool on the paintbrush and I'm all over it like a fly on a hot drop. I would be happy to learn and play with friends. But for me personally as a Solo gamer, I think this game would just gather dust on the shelf. This game came sooo close.... Not for me, but I really hope that the new edition receives the audience it deserves. Its a nice game.
Yeah, this one really worked for me personally, from the gameplay to the art and production. Definitely not one of the most thematic euros, but that doesn't bother me when I enjoy the gameplay. Thanks so much for checking out the video!
