Instead of 3cups of all purpose flour, I used 2cups flour plus 1 ½ cup of coconut flour. This is the best 🍰 I have ever made. God bless you for this wonderful recipe.

Yesterday I made this cake and it was super soft and melting in mouth. Some says not to over beat and cake wouldn't come out properly. But wow this works like magic, This is the best butter cake i have ever made. Thank you for sharing this super method 💗💗💗
I have made these cakes many times and they come out so soft and such good texture that melts in the mouth. I use self raising flour so I don't add baking powder. I also add a little of rava in the batter for texture. I bake it in a non stick baking dish so no headache of butter paper. I bake it in a gas oven. It comes out super. I baked this cake so many times. 😋

The cornstarch in this proportion will not add any flavor to the recipe. The sifting & egg white add the cake's fluffiness.

Perhaps my VPN is the cause of my account getting blocked. I am not sure. But the cake came out well. The batter broke on me, but I wasn't patient enough to fix it, but the cake still tasted really good. It reminded me of a Japanese cake that I ate in 2007. I think it was in 2007. I am still living in Japan, and I never could find that good tasty cake anymore, but your recipe makes me think of that Japanese cake I ate in 2007. so I will make it again for my wife.

this is exactly how our mom made her cakes! One variation was to add chocolate to the last half of the batter after filling the first half into the pan and then swirling the chocolate part into the vanilla for a marbled cake!

A fault for you. Its powdered sugar or icing sugar used. If you use plain sugar as stated you will have crystals not a powder. Also butter was added by the packet which is meadured by weight but the author stated one cup. Those of us using one cup as stated will get a fail.
Its neither powdered sugar nor icing sugar. Its castor sugar and it’s already written on the video and also in the description box below the video. I have stated the same verbally in the video that you can add castor sugar or powdered sugar. Nowhere I have used the word plain sugar, request you to watch the video carefully. I may have used butter from the packet but thats after weighing it and so it hardly matters coz those who are following the recipe will follow the weight mentioned in the video. Hope I sounded clear. Try this. What you need::::1) 1 and 1/4 cup coconut soaked in 1 cup milk for 1 hour.. 2) 1 cup sugar... 3) 1/2 cup sultanas. 4). 1 and 1/4 cup self raising flour. .. 5) pinch salt. Method::: add sugar, Salt, and sultanas to coconut mixture. Lastly add self raising flour. Mix well. Place a piece of foil in the bottom of tin. Bake for 1 hour. 180c or 350f. Let me know.

@@rafiasyed2756 so long as you don't mix too much after adding flour you won't overbeat. You can overbeat during creaming stage but that would mostly result in a slightly domed cake but not much effect in tenderness and flavor of the cake

I don't know whether it's a Indian myth, I'm observing from the 60's, sifting the flour 3 times, beating the sugar and eggs for 15 minutes. May be we Indians make everything in a hard and tedious way. But in Europe(actually from England), the original pound cake is sugar, butter, flour and eggs each a pound. In the middle 70's added with baking powder and baking soda. Now in Europe from the 70's, England, Germany, Netherland and to the South Italy Preperation time is not more than10-15minutes and the baking time is around 50-60minutes. SriLankans make very good (English influence) cakes.
I tried this cake right to the tee 2 weeks ago, it came out beautifully My daughter tried it and said it was very nice in tes of taste and texture. Ive been baking buttercake 100 times ❤ but the ingredients is unlikely different especially using salted butter the texture is really not same by using unsalted butter! Anyway, my fave and signature dish back to my work place before!🎉

180C for big oven...160C for small ones

My grandmother used to dip toothpicks into food coloring and drew it in the batter. It made nice patterns. Good memories.

Like you said this cake takes a lot of time. I have enjoyed reading all of the comments and it looked delicious. I was really surprised that it didn’t go in a 9 x 13 pan because of all the ingredients I can’t get over that it goes in that small square pan. I would really like to have a piece of that cake right now. Thank you.
It wouldn't rise much though as there's no baking powder.
Only the eggs are helping this cake rise so she wouldn't need a big pan

Hi, how are you? I have never baked a cake in my life. I am 41 years old. Your cake recipe is the first cake that I will try. It is in the oven now as I type this comment. I plan to make lemon-glazed icing to put on top. I learned how to make donuts last month, so that I will use the same icing. I don't know what I am doing, but I feel happy, and it feels like fun. Time to clean up the kitchen while the cake is in the oven, then I'll make the glaze icing.

@@deepaliohri Hi, I tried making an Instagram account, but the website won't allow me to open an account. It keeps getting banned and blocked. Perhaps my VPN is the cause of my account getting blocked. I am not sure. But the cake came out well. The batter broke on me, but I wasn't patient enough to fix it, but the cake still tasted really good. It reminded me of a Japanese cake that I ate in 2007. I think it was in 2007. I am still living in Japan, and I never could find that good tasty cake anymore, but your recipe makes me think of that Japanese cake I ate in 2007. so I will make it again for my wife.

this is exactly how our mom made her cakes! One variation was to add chocolate to the last half of the batter after filling the first half into the pan and then swirling the chocolate part into the vanilla for a marbled cake!

A fault for you. Its powdered sugar or icing sugar used. If you use plain sugar as stated you will have crystals not a powder. Also butter was added by the packet which is meadured by weight but the author stated one cup. Those of us using one cup as stated will get a fail.
Its neither powdered sugar nor icing sugar. Its castor sugar and it’s already written on the video and also in the description box below the video. I have stated the same verbally in the video that you can add castor sugar or powdered sugar. Nowhere I have used the word plain sugar, request you to watch the video carefully. I may have used butter from the packet but thats after weighing it and so it hardly matters coz those who are following the recipe will follow the weight mentioned in the video. Hope I sounded clear. I love this, it came out perfect. Could I add fruit to this same recipe? What helps them not to sink?
Try this. What you need::::1) 1 and 1/4 cup coconut soaked in 1 cup milk for 1 hour.. 2) 1 cup sugar... 3) 1/2 cup sultanas. 4). 1 and 1/4 cup self raising flour. .. 5) pinch salt. Method::: add sugar, Salt, and sultanas to coconut mixture. Lastly add self raising flour. Mix well. Place a piece of foil in the bottom of tin. Bake for 1 hour. 180c or 350f. Let me know.

@@rafiasyed2756 so long as you don't mix too much after adding flour you won't overbeat. You can overbeat during creaming stage but that would mostly result in a slightly domed cake but not much effect in tenderness and flavor of the cake

This sounds absolutely delicious! My mom always made pound cakes and yes, there were usually very dense and heavy (but still yummy). I like this butter cake recipe. Seems so light and airy. I'm going to add some lemon zest or extra vanilla for some extra flavor. Thanks for sharing!
I don't know whether it's a Indian myth, I'm observing from the 60's, sifting the flour 3 times, beating the sugar and eggs for 15 minutes. May be we Indians make everything in a hard and tedious way. But in Europe(actually from England), the original pound cake is sugar, butter, flour and eggs each a pound. In the middle 70's added with baking powder and baking soda. Now in Europe from the 70's, England, Germany, Netherland and to the South Italy Preperation time is not more than10-15minutes and the baking time is around 50-60minutes. SriLankans make very good (English influence) cakes.
Yup this is not the recipe of original pound cake. This is just another way of making a butter cake. 😊👍

My daughter tried it and said it was very nice in tes of taste and texture. I asked her which type of butter cake she wants me to make for my grandsons birthday and she immediately said this one!. Today I made 2 cakes all double the recipe to fit into a 9in tin. Tom is my grandson a Birthday and. Making a Blippi design. Ya very much for sharing this recipe and the techniques for better results

Ive been baking buttercake 100 times ❤ but the ingredients is unlikely different especially using salted butter the texture is really not same by using unsalted butter!

Tried this Recipe to the T yesterday and cake turned out great! Will be in my repetoire for sure! My handheld mixer was screaming hot!😂 after the butter creaming, fortunately i have 2 mixers and i had to switched to the 2nd one 😅
