I just made this cake today, everything turned out beautifully and very tasty. I usually use the baking spray but not this time and it turned out beautiful like golden brown, not that darker brown. I normally get in my pound cake. Thank you 😊

This is a great recipe and I've been using one much like this for a long time. One thing that I do add to mine is a little mace--a little makes a big difference in the depth of the flavor.
I have to say, I didn't completely follow your recipe as I added cinnamon and brown sugar sprinkles to the center and on top of this butter cake. Then I made the glaze and poured it on top and let it sit for just a while. The cake was so incredibly soft, moist and had a slight cinnamon crunch around the edges. I almost cried with every single bite that cake was so freaking delicious!! Thank you so much for this recipe!!! Now it's time to make a the original recipe you've shown here.
Kentucky butter cake? One of my favorites. This looks wonderful. YES YES YES. GOOEY BUTTER CAKE sounds wonderful. I cheat sometimes and use a cake mix for gooey butter cake but sometimes I make from scratch.
