Hmmmm, I really would like to have this shop in my neighborhood :-) So far from Germany. I really enjoy my Springbank ten from 2020. Sadly there are so few bottles to buy here in our country.
Excellent, so happy you were able to get two. We can't wait to hear about them when you get back home. While certainly they might be unique, will they make it onto the top shelf?🙏
We made the mistake of buying two SB Fresh sherry bottles. One 9yo and one 10yo. Only opened one but hopefully they're pretty different? I panicked because the shop was so busy but we got there in perfect timing for the cage being filled. Wouldn't have minded a longrow FB or port or something lol. Also that guy in the yellow in the video. Pretty sure that's him who owns north start spirits lol.
Crazy how things have gone, obliged to put young bottles into cages....if you only knew the bottles i had access to "free on the shelves" if I may say, "hand pickable" I mean, back in the days, especially the first 10 years of my interest for whisky, you would have been crazy...25, 32 yo OB's, special releases, Local Barley first series, and even a 35 yo CS Adelphi, just below...700 € (that was later on, around 2014...Slainte & well done for those 2 bottles hoping they're to your liking...
Whilst it's one cage bottle per person, could you have also bought a 10yo and 15yo as well as the cage bottling? Also, I'm not quite sure how these cage bottlings differ from the handfills which are available. Many thanks
You could buy a cage bottle (not in a cage anymore I hear), standard bottle, and hand fill yes. The hand fills are more like an ongoing batch where as the cage bottles are single cask. Might be one per person on the official bottles.
Love it! I will definitely be getting there early whenever I get there. Are they good value or do you pay a premium because they are random bottles? Are they all cask strength?
The are all samples taken straight from a cask. One of the cage bottles I have has a good amount of barrel char sitting at the bottom. Value is pretty good too, I believe anything under 11 years is 60gbp and then goes up from there.
@@AaronBlum1 thanks Aaron. That is good value! Especially with them being cask strength and having that sentiment there where it’s a one off feel from the cage at Springbank. Thanks for the info
@@WhiskyMystery Phil, can you believe I just had to pay$185 for Springbank 15 in the Bay Area? 🤦🏻♂a couple of months ago had to pay $300 for SB 18... :(
Nice video super clear and so well done makes me buy tickets straight to Springbank.
@@josevasquez1781 It’s a Springbank is it is always worth it. Cheers.
Loving these Videos from Scotland!! Thank you for sharing your journey there!!

Felt like I was shopping with you! I felt the adrenaline rush when the cage was opening! Congratulations on your bottles! Cheers! 🥃😊
Thanks Melissa
The chemistry between you two is charming! Great things in those cages, you both got treasures. Cheers

Love it. LOL'd at the reveal of "the line" and wow I bet those are some great bottles you got.
hehe
What a LOVELY episode : it's like being AT Springbak with u 2 . . . good job !

Apparently it was him as people are commenting
Got a vacation planned to go there in may!!
Super excited
Is there a specific bottle I would need to look for ?
Fantastic. I strongly recommend the all day Barley to Bottle Tour if you can afford it. You get to mix your own bottle!
That was a celeb packed shop. Did you not recognise Iain Croucher standing behind you at the cage😄. Ronnie Grant in there as well.👍
Nope I do not know who they are
Suppose its a case of get in early or dip out. Enjoy your special purchases, you both look happy. Slàinte.
Yes or try again the next day

I know you got the ex bourbon Phil but I didn't catch what Deepa got her hands on ? Great score. Makes the wait in Campbell Town worth it.
14 burgundy
Nice
Do they still have the cage in the back of Cadenheads? There used to be more bottles there.
Don’t think so
Didn't know about the cage bottles but a standard bottle of 10 or 15 would do me!
And available
I'm learning so much form these videos! When did others join the line, or should I just get there at 9:30
They can not sell be for 10:00 but you can look early
Phil, are those what they call the tail or head end of the cask? I assume the tail end would have more sentiment?
Not necessarily they could be bottling a full cask and just putting out a few bottles per day
how much were those Springbank 15yo?
I don't remember the official bottle price but cheap MSRP. Even the single cask 14 year were only £75/$100

Great video mate. Do you happen to know how often new bottles go into the cage? Is it a new batch daily?
May get a top up during the day but mostly daily I think
Must be hard not to open those bottles to have a taste!
No open bottles allowed on the plane
@@WhiskyMystery Exactly! It must be hard to resist opening those intriguing bottles and hard to have to wait until you get home.

North Star's Ian Croucher in the yellow jacket haha
