One thing that strikes me in this scene with the actress that played Laura, and I don't know why I focus on it so much, is that the little girl told Brooke "I love you" 3 times and Julia/Brooke either ignored her or said "ok". It sort of bothered me that she didn't just answer "I love you too".
Yes, but it shows how important it is to watch your kids at all times. I remember whenever I took my Cousin to The Mall, I never allowed him to not hold my hand. I watched him like a Hawk and sadly enough Three Of Adam's Kids became Alcoholics. Skye, Haley, and JR and wasn't Tom a Recovering Alcoholic in his own right.
Laura lied to Barbara about crossing the street herself and yes Barb should have gone with her. But it was mostly Josh who was drunk and hit her if Barbara had gone she might have gotten killed or injured too 3 are to blame.
No Laura Elizabeth Cudahey did not come back she died after the accident and brooke donated her heart and never really got over it even after Jamie and Laura Kirk came on the scene Brooke did loss another baby and she had a dream about a grown up Laura She kept her picture and remet Josh who became a minister
Susan Pratt should have stayed at the much better guiding light . Loved her and fletcher together. All my children was a so so kind of show not bad better then crappy hospital. But liked Susan on guiding light.
You may not have enjoyed it personally. But All My Children was considered a top notch daytime show, a solid #3 & time slot winner in the ratings during these years, and critically adored. So-so, not so.
she did some TV movies and guest roles through her teen years . She now practices law in Los Angeles...

Barbara made a mistake clearly but Laura lied to her about being able to cross the street all by herself. And of course Josh the drunken driver also.
