- I announced my new book, “Wimpy, Weak, and Woke” this week. While I’m aware that the title is provocative, I must admit that I’m surprised at the amount of people who were extremely upset about a book that they haven’t even read! Comments such as “Jesus wouldn’t approve of this;” “white Christian men” are bad; “American conservatives aren’t truly Christian” really shocked me. Today, I respond to some fan comments, as well as read Scriptures that tell us to rebuke evil. Pre-order my new book today!

I cannot express how happy and grateful I am that you are speaking out. The amount of hurt and destruction that my family has felt in recent years from all of these “Christian” musicians, pastors, authors, etc has been unfathomable. This is literally a balm to my soul.

What would people now days do against someone like C.S. Lewis, who could cut through the nonsense with such well-crafted words that you would almost thank him for the cut? XD Keep speaking truth in love. There needs to be a revival.
That comparison of comparing the politics/culture of America during the time of slavery vs the issues of today is spot on and should really connect with people who are wanting to put unity (aka not wanting to offend anyone or be unpopular even at the loss of our neighbors' soul) as some sort of crowning goal. Unity isn't good if your unity encompasses celebrating evil. Can't wait to get this book!

I think the conflict proves and triggers many who are not willing to look at the reality and seriousness of these ideologies and compromises in the church, and maybe even their own participation and compromises with the world. I have NO CLUE what's going on with people... I have no kids and single and I'M WORRIED!! I have nieces and nephews and my friends have kids, and it's worrysome. Why are people NOT awake YET? It's beyond me... Why do people here or wherever "attack" you by not admitting what's going on? It's also beyond me, and I used quotes on "attack" as most of them are just some more frontal than others. I'm very happy to know there's a voice like yours along with few others that are raising awareness. I sure hope this Gideon army could go up from 300, but it looks to be we would be a minority even within the church, which saddens some of us at times, but it's also encouraging so we keep at it wihtout waiting for folks to join us. Thank you John for both your books, I'll finish the last one soon and will be getting the new one. And by the way, I think the title of your new book is just oin point! The Civil War analogy is spot on.
I was kind of getting scared at how realistic The Pledge was sounding and what it was leading to… until I realised that we in the real world (not the fantastic illustration) were in no danger of this happening, courtesy of a (non-Pledge!) physician I recently read about, who specializes in uterus transplants to compassionate males.
A few years ago i tried to toe the middle ground line but the realization of not being able to serve two masters made me realize that centerism doesn't exist in the Christian faith. I still love those that disagree with me and am friendly with lgbt individuals in my office but they know that I believe it is a sin and doesn't belong in leadership in the church. I speak kindly and openly with them about my faith without betraying my morals. The issues that end up firing me up is the corruption in the church going woke. When the american Christian leaders stopped reading their Bibles that is when i saw the signal fires on the walls.

Really good points John. I’m afraid that many like Lecrae and others have been discipled by the world in recent years. They are on the way to ship wrecking their faith. Praying for the Lord to bring genuine repentance! It’s terribly sad to hear these comments from Christians. As Voddie Baucham says “ The eleventh commandment is thou shall be nice….and we don’t practice the other ten.”

We are the salt and light in our country if our words and actions reflect God's truth. I pray God will have mercy on us and send revival. Stand strong in Christ, John! There are many of us in the church who are standing with you now!!
We are totally in a spiritual battle/war right now. Even non-believers can sense that we’re in a battle of good vs evil. I love that you’ve thrown your hat into the intellectual/theological/logical arena. I’m sure there have been sacrifices to do so. Just like those ppl who lost their jobs for standing up for truth!
For this culture, it seems the phrase “lovers of themselves” has never been more relevant. I was at first thinking the first line of defense should be to take kids out of schools, but maybe we need young ppl in the arena too (but kids in a vulnerable state should probably be protected)!
The rise in the murder rate is just shocking/disturbing! I’ve noticed people have been more aggressive on the road since covid / the BLM riots. There’s this weird tension/aggression - almost like Mad Max. The other day I saw a disturbing clip where this celebrity openly talked about the idea of eating ppl (no joke!) and how she tried it (I think - or at least thought about it). We’re watching the devil pervert peoples’ minds to try to obliterate and mutilate God’s beautiful creation to mock Him and see others destroyed.
Also where do you get your cool shirts? The black and gold almost tie-died one and the bird one you had on in this episode looked really cool.
It hurts my heart that people don’t understand the difference in being nice and loving someone enough to tell them the truth.

I don’t think people realize how fierce Jesus was on earth and is in heaven. He literally came to be on earth and learned of our struggles and the evil that sought him out to try to get him to fail.. yea he came to be the lamb to the slaughter but that didn’t stop him from turning tables and whipping corrupt people. he is in heaven sharpening his sword ready to come back and destroy evil.

This world is in total chaos, and most of it won't get better. But its good to have ppl like you who speak the truth, that at least some ppl may stay on the right path. The reason we’re in this predicament is BECAUSE the “church” was asleep, kept to themselves and were being “Mr. And Mrs. Nice-pants”. Give evil an inch and it’ll take a mile…. God is merciful but he is also just. We can be merciful but that doesn’t mean we excuse the sin. That includes our own sin. We are to rebuke evil just as Christ rebuked the evil in Peter. Not out of pride but for love and truth. There’s a reason the scriptures say we’re in a Spiritual battle… it’s not a “discussion”. It’s a FIGHT.
Brother, I loved Skillet and still do. However, I appreciate more your love for God and passion for His children to be aware of the enemy and his tactics. God has gifted you with so much compassion.

I always was a supporter of ecumenicism and was disappointed when the movement in the 90's came to nothing so I am not one looking for division, but our society has become so hostile to God and His saints. The scriptures that challenge me are those of the man who would stand in the gap (Eze 22:30) and the watcher on the wall (Eze 33). You are such an encouragement to stand up for that message.
Honestly, I think one of the reasons we are where we are today is because we were too scared to be hard lined to begin with. It was all, “Well, it’s just such and such” and we poo poo’d those who talked about the slippery slope. I was definitely one of those. Now I see they were right. It was a slippery slope and now here we are and I can no longer be quiet. Speaking truth is vital and it is not hateful even if many see it that way. I’ll do my best to speak truth in love but I’m not going to sugar coat it either anymore.

The fact people are triggered shows cognative dissonance and that's a good thing. It means it's already waking people up. The word conservative means you believe in conservativing something. We are preserving the gospel and its influence in all spheres of life including personal relationships, families, nations, and global relations. The good news is only good news if it solves a problem, and if people never speak against sin, how are they preaching the gospel?
If they want "nice" and sin-affirming Christians, they can look to 90% of the Christian music industry. Let John speak truth for a change
