The reason that there are pictures of flexed bat heads is because the head of the bat was going too fast for the camera to catch the bat while bat in a single frame without the bat being distorted.
do you like mako drop -3? I have a 6'2 215lb 7th grader who routinely hits HRs in jr. high(hit 3 during 7 game season, many rainouts not madeup) ,Little League(has 7 in 5 games so far), and travel ball. He likes his mako -11 for LL but I need to get him a 33 or 34 inch bbcor for jr. high and varsity in a couple years, he asked for a mako but is that the best choice for drop -3? He used team supplied drop 3 during j-high season.
I really wish someone would make a video with some type of device that controls bat speed and pitch speed and we could see exit speed on a 1 piece vs a 2 piece.
im thinking about purchasing an adidas brand bat since the guys on my team have the usual demarinis and easton brands. Wanted to branch out and be a little different so i decided to go with adidas and the 2 I'm interested in are a composite adidas eqt x3 rbz bbcor bat for a 2 piece option and the other I'm interested in is the adidas aero burner bbcor one piece alloy. From what i see on paper they're both relative good bats with minimal cons but I'd like to get your opinion between these two choices.
Hi Bat Digest, i'm from philippines. My two sons starting to play baseball in their school. We dont have money to buy a new baseball bbcor bat. Can you please help me🙏
G Lopez 1 piece bats usually have a larger sweet spot and with less flex at contact you don't lose energy in the flex so it transfers to the ball more effectively.
I have seen video and still frames of a bat flex clearly before contact with the ball. Do you believe this is camera distortion? Even if there is no blur in the still frame or video.
Modern day Bats don't flex pre-contact. It is post contact. See this academic paper for more details: www.acs.psu.edu/drussell/bats/handle-flex.html All bats you are seeing "flex" in the pictures are an "after contact" still image.
Just Bat Reviews view the video Monsta Zombie Slow Mo Bat Flex. At 18 seconds in which will clearly be before contact you can see the flex of the bat, both in the bat itself and in the shadow on the ground. Contact then happens after the flex if you watch the video you will see what I'm talking about. it's either A. Bat flex prior to contact or B. Camera distortion (I highly disagree with this scenario since there is no blurring of any objects in the frame). I've heard many times that flex does not happen pre-contact and I fully understand what you are saying about most pictures being after but there is no arguing that this is pre-contact.
I see the video you are speaking about. Good find. But I'd guess that was video/camera distortion. That video isn't slo motion--as it claims. It is normal footage slowed down. That creates lots of distortion.... Either that, or you found evidence that no scientist has ever found in a laboratory. Tweet some of the real scientists who measure and test bats for a living. @poboguy is one on twitter. You can also see our twitter feed. We recently sent a picture of a "bendy" bat to the them for analysis. It is how I found the article I linked above.
Further, test it out for yourself. Grab any bat you can find a try to bend it. You won't be able to. No way a bat swing creates more force than someone just trying to bend it. Try it with a friend. No way you can even slightly bend it. Swinging a bat doesn't bend it either. Golf clubs on the other hand...
+Kevin Catano Just Depends man. It's an end loaded bat so swings a bit heavier. You can always get a 31/28 and probably get that through the zone well enough. I personally like two piece composites for freshman. Then when your 185 and 6 foot as a senior maybe the raw. But the only real trick is to get in the cage and try 'em out. Good luck!
+Just Bat Reviews I'm a freshman too, 5'11 180. Do you think a voodoo would be ok for me in the -3 model? I swung a voodoo ft senior league in the past.
Honestly, probably not. Unless you are a real strong hitter. This year (2017) they do have a new "balanced" voodoo. That might be your ticket. The guys who swing an endloaded Voodoo are usualy college players with a lot of time in the weight room. But, that shouldn't substitute for just getting out and hitting with the bat. You might find you love it.

Yeah. Exactly.
I prefer 1 piece aluminum because it tells me I’m a piece of shit if I don’t barrel it up😂
totally agree ,there is no handle whip .
any of these bats for sale?

very informative my daughter loves one piece bats. she feels she gets more power.

I don't think it accurate to think one piece bats have a larger sweet spot. But less flex at contact is accurate.
