    Why do you only have 60k subs when you give so much value on your videos. I'll try to promote you as much as I can.

      Thank you Ivan. My long live videos don’t get supported by RUclips in same way so I have a very low reach on the platform. I am now looking at ways to change that 👍

    The Billy Connolly of biking. I tried road cleats but I think it’s an art to clip in and out. It’s a shame because I have Garmin vector pedals which I would love to try out and add power to my rides. Along with a heart rate monitor it would be great for self improvement. Great video as usual.

    I've come to prefer more of a midfoot position. Some good adaptors out there to help get the cleat back far enough. Huge problem with KEO's is that they are narrow and that causes me to roll my ankles while walking or just standing. Particularly rolling to the outside. They have nearly caused sprained ankles. My SPD SL are a little wider but I've switched to the KEOs and like them. Just need a wider platform for walking etc. No solution found yet.

    I used to leave the cleats slightly loose when fitting new shoes, then pedal away and let my feet find the natural position, then incrementally tighten the bolts. All good.

    Struggled with numb and sore feet for about 3 years until I got measured for a pair at sprockets bike shop where Scott's studio is....I was diagnosed with wide feet and sold a pair of Lakes, now have no problems whatsoever..I was blaming cleat position but it obviously wasn't that as I'd tried the cleats in every position imaginable

    Cheers. I want to switch to spd sistem and don't know if will be good with Shimano spd-sl Yellow... Having pain Knee and i think is because of foot position/pedal. Pain especialy on the right knee. Need to stabilize that knee. I cycling on road.. I can't go on big rides like 80-100+ km... Because of knee pain. Please tell me if is ok if i move to spd sl yellow or blue from shimano. It will be my first Experience with SPD sistem. Many thanks. 👍👍👏🙃
    I have 68kg ..and 1.70 height.

      Thanks for the message. I would strongly suggest you remove the knee pain first: this might need rest. If the knee pain only happens on bike then please try and identify the source before moving to cleats. It might be saddle height or a joint issue. Sorry I can’t be more specific but it would be wrong of me to suggest moving to cleats with a knee pain.
      Remember your hip strength/stability is very important for your knee movement. 👍👍👍

    Hi, I may have mentioned this before, but at the moment I still use peddles with plastic cage, however I've been big & brave and purchasing proper cycling shoes with cleats.
    Now I have seen other videos that talk about mid foot cleat position, what are thoughts on this coach?

    Really clear, thank you :-) Do you have any tips to speed up the trial and error stages for those of us without €500 indoor turbo-trainers please? Otherwise, the only option I see is: try position 1, go out for a 15km ride and see if it hurts. If it does, move the cleats and try again.... I'm a beginner and hoping to enjoy my riding, not spend all the time I do have faffing about with the mechanicals :-) Any tips gratefully received and thanks again.

    Hi Andy here .I changed a few year ago to mid foot cleat extentions ..despite the warning of hitting my foot on foot wheel or foot falling of front if pedal neither have happened to me.i found it help with my climbing power but I lose it on faster sections .. ..would you recommend mid foot cleat position ..thank I'm enjoying your videos..

    • @BulletproofCycling
      @BulletproofCycling  2 года назад +1

      Hi Andy, yes I would. Sure you may lose some fast snap over the top of the stroke for sprints but I set up most people for endurance rides. Toe cross has to be avoided really but it sounds like you have got things in a good place. Well done 👍👍

    Great video coach, thank you! I think my cleats are a bit too forward, if I move them 10mm back do I need to adjust saddle height or fore/aft to maintain current bike fit?

    Hi coach i recently had an Achilles tendon injury I'm just over 6 months now been riding on the road for 5 weeks on flat pedals.I went back on the Turbo in my cycling shoes on Monday & realized i have been cycling on tip toe for years just felt wrong.So today i moved my cleats all the way back level this moves my feet further forward on both sides so takes the pressure of my Achilles & calfs I'm hopeful its ok on the road.The physio gives me Heel raises & standing on one leg to strengthen the Achilles i have been getting knee pain behind the knee which seems to have moved more to the front recently it could be because I've been riding in trainers on flat pedals. I'm near London so could you recommend & good bike fitter to go to who understands Achilles problems.I should add I've moved the saddle up 5mm to. I've been a regular cyclist since 1987 so generally i set my cleats up a bit loose so the feet find a good position on the bike.

    Thank for another awesome video. I have tried kneeling on a flat stool hanging your foot to find the angle of each foot. Of course you need someone to help you straighten the cleats while you are on that position. I found my left foot is almost straight while the right foot toe out by significant margin. It seemed to have worked for me. Would you recommend that method to find the angle?

    Hi Coach...Been wrestling with issues with this for the last three months on my new Cyclocross bike. Never had this issue with my MTB bikes. Tracking for the right side/foot is the issue while the left i snot. Frustrating and after adding a leg length shim, G8 cycling orthotics, bike fit wedge(s), moving the cleat further outward, and a spindle washer...we have only gone from extremely painful on the outer right side of the foot to just ok.May be a Q factor issue but not sure...continuing to work on it. Looking forward to the more in depth videos. Thank you

    Should I switch from mtb cleats to road cleats? I’ve always used spd cleats on my road bike because the cleats are recessed into the shoe and I can walk easily in them…but am I missing out on something by not using Road cleats?

    • @Abomai
      @Abomai 2 года назад +1

      I use road bike as my training bike since I compete only xco and XCM. So I never used road cleats, I think if you want to squeeze the maximum out of your road bike probably road cleats with carbon sole shoes are the way for some additional watts

    • @BulletproofCycling
      @BulletproofCycling  2 года назад +1

      I have seen very effective pedalling with spd cleats. I have often seen MTB riders demonstrate more efficient pedalling than roadies. However, what you may be missing is the shoe sole material. This may be minimal for you so I would say just stick with what works best for your cycling 👍

    Hey Coach. I broke my big toe years ago and it's now shorter than the other therefore my foot sits more forward in my shoe; would you advise transferring this difference to cleat position?

    • @BulletproofCycling
      @BulletproofCycling  2 года назад

      I have similar issue with broken big toe and half shoe size difference on right hand side. I make a slight alteration to cleat to accommodate. I have tweaked it over the years but really notice it on my calf if I don’t do it 👍👍👍

    • @RAVS_73
      @RAVS_73 2 года назад

      @@BulletproofCycling I must admit I haven't felt anything in my calf (either because they're tiny, or I'm not pedalling hard enough), but I can defo feel a difference in engagement with the pedal. I have now made a 3mm -ish adjustment.
