  • The mic (on sale right now!) - amzn.to/3wzsWHY
    This is my review of the Rode Wireless Pro, designed to help you decide if it's the best wireless mic of 2024.
    I held out on buying this piece of microphone tech for a while because I never used my Rode Wireless Go - little did I know how much I was missing out on.
    With 32bit float internal recording, its compact size, incredible accessories, and included lavaliers, the Rode Wireless Pro is the best lavalier microphone for creators in 2024, and it even keeps up with the big boys as a cost-effective and worry-free recording solution on low to medium budget client shoots.

    Wait, but why are you holding the lav mic like a crazy person? This is such a weird trend on social media.

      Because I’m a crazy person.
      Plus the audio sounds better that way 😂

      Adds for a more creative/versatile use of the mic. For example, a person might want to whisper as a stylistic effect, but the mic might not be able to pick it up if it's just clipped on the shirt. He can whisper and the audience can still hear him if he's holding the mic close.

    Awesome review, thanks! Just one thing... You clearly know your way around microphones, yet still use a lav like a handheld. Wouldn't it be way more beneficial to use it the way it was intended, so we can hear how it sounds under proper use. Elements like rubbing on clothes, position and proximity all play a rather vital roll in evaluating the mic...
    Either way, thanks again, solid review.

      Very solid point for this video! I usually handhold it as a style choice for youtube, but it would make more sense to clip it when doing an audio test in a review. I guess I didn’t think of it because I was focused on the technical elements of the mic and forgot to include an intentional audio quality test.

    Totally agree on the sound quality!, I never use the clips I use cloth tape in 2 loops (creates a cushion) with the mic just sticking out...

    Definitely gonna grab the new Wireless Pro.
    Quick thing, your Wireless Go should have internal recording as well.
    I had to update my firmware, but I use the Wireless Go II without connecting to camera.
    Using the same process (Connect app) you can offload clips from the Transmitters, even in 32-bit float.

    Do you use additional presets to get the bass in the audio or is the voice sound in this video purely from the microphone without post-edit?

    • @JosephMartin
      @JosephMartin  4 дня назад

      This audio is straight from the mic with no post processing :)

    Hey, thanks for the video. After disappointment with the 1st wireless go which started having issues like randomly switching off with 50% battery, I bought DJI Mics and couldn't be happier. Nice packaging, charging case, you can use them without an application to download internal recording, it has magnets and they are smaller in size.
    I highly recommend to try their 2nd version with 32bit audio 😊

      Forgot to mention that it has touch screen for your settings and all the connectors you need right out of the box. No need to buy anything extra.

      The DJI mics are great! I love the touchscreen functionality. Hopefully i can get my hands on one of the V.2 to compare it with the rode pro sometime!

    I wonder if and when rose will release an updated version. I’d not like to buy this and a new one comes out

      This one is still pretty new and I’m not sure exactly how much better it can get, so I’d say this is a pretty safe buy! I imagine they’re have an updated version released sometime in 2025

    How does its sound compare to a shotgun mic boomed over you?

    • @JosephMartin
      @JosephMartin  4 месяца назад

      A good shotgun/condenser boomed over talent will always sound “fuller” than a lav mic, so for interview setups on professional gigs those booms are used as main audio with lavs used as backup. On a social media/ youtube shoot like this, I find the lavs way more convenient and the sound quality is 100% passable for internet content.

    Has anyone used this with the 2024 IPad M4 yet?

      I’m sure the ipad will be able to handle the file processing, if that’s what you mean - the m4 is a beast!
