- A Hollywood drama unfolded in a Virginia courtroom as the first day of trial began in the defamation lawsuit Johnny Depp brought against ex-wife Amber Heard. Heard claimed in an op-ed written at the height of the MeToo movement that she was abused by Depp. His lawyers have painted her as a liar who made up the allegations to gain publicity for a movie she was starring in, and claim that Depp’s career was destroyed as a result. Heard’s lawyers contend that his career was already in free fall.
By making up a false accusation, amber dilutes the credibility and severity of what domestic abuse victims have faced, shame on her

She was always a terrible actor and it's so obvious she isn't affected by this in the slightest. Depp seems genuinely broken. AH looks entertained at times and then almost bored at other times. She doesn't look distraught or like she is suffering. It says it all. Her dead eyes and everything. The fact that people can still take her seriously is beyond me. It's so obvious she is one of the fakest people in Hollywood and that's saying A LOT because Hollywood is full of plastic everything (bodies and personalities).

Seriously, could barely c the scratch. She was arrested foe domestic violence… he had a new woman living w/him w/in 2 weeks. She fell apart, ended up on the streets off and on for 8 years (she stayed w/us off and on but she was a mess). She ended up dying in a car wreck in July 2020. I never saw what she saw in him. But he went through 4-5 women in a 2-3 year period. He has been married to someone else for 5-6 years.

I've had friends turn to drugs and alcohol after being abused by sober partners who didnt turn into abusers... they were the ones being abused. I've also dealt with people who were abusive one drugs and alcohol... those people were awful sober as well. Generalizing is lame. Now in their case... they were both abusing drugs and alcohol, so if that's your criteria for innocence... then what?

Been watching Court TV on this trial - defamation case and their panel of psychologists gave an interesting spin on both Johnny Depp and his ex, (e.g. one stated how both were abusive in that toxic relationship). I was impressed that J.D. took care of his mom through the years, despite her being a very verbally abusive mother.

I had a friend who I’m not friends with anymore but when our friendship ended she was angry with me. She spread false accusations about me. It was right after high school into college. Didn’t even realize until a year later that my friends weren’t just drifting from me because college and all, but they actually had a problem with me that I wasn’t aware of. I talked to her and she tried to gaslight me. I don’t even know what to do anymore. Some of my friends won’t even talk to me. What makes me sad is none of them even asked if it was true. People really just do believe the “victim” whoever speaks first. She even has done this to another guy in the past who I’ve spoke to since I found out she was spreading stuff, and he told me his side of the story and he never even had relations with the girl, she was friends with HIS REAL GF isn’t that creepy? All I know is that she is probably sitting at home watching these videos about this case and seeing the comments about how it makes it harder for *real* victims to be heard, I hope she is learning from this. She doesn’t realize the damage she caused for me emotionally, but in the end, I know people will start to see through her one day.

I was in an abusive relationship for 14yrs, when he was finally arrested, after knocking my front teeth out, and holding me at gun point for hours, it went to court, and I barley survived being in the court room, my anxiety was consuming, and he was so bad in the court room, lashing out at me, and the judge, they Finally had to literally drag him out, cussing and fighting. Amber Is not an abused woman.
The narratives that the media spins is so crazy (guilt or innocence aside)... How else is Johnny Depp supposed to look? That's his face!
I feel terrible for him. Nobody is perfect, clearly he was drinking alcohol and using drugs but he doesn't deserved to be maligned with domestic abuse. He is a talented actor and musician. I also feel for his family, especially his daughter Rose, whom he loves so much. I hope this doesn't damage their relationship or her in any way. Watching your father in a trial like this must be devastating.
