PSA: Cats panting means they are excessively tuckered out/freaked out. Cats regulate temperature through their paws and ears. Them panting is a sign that they are stressed, way too hot or disease. Dogs pant more regularly to regulate temp, but cats do this very uncommonly. Cats panting need to stop moving and get some cool water asap. Cats are hardy, but also weirdly fragile in some specific ways. Stressing out a cat isn't good for their health. That said, most cases of things like this happening, the kitty is in fact fine. I just feel bad for the little things. It's so incredibly loud and scary in those arenas.
