    Alright, because I'm lazy I gotta ask: you got some configs that work well with all this, that you can hook me up with? Im assuming (big assumption, I know) you're running opennept4une and standard klipper? If so, what calibrating did you do specifically after this final mod -- is the ratio of step to motion is a bit different in the z axis? Any other configuration?

    • @EdsTechTalk94
      @EdsTechTalk94  2 месяца назад

      Nope! It’s all stock Neptune firmware still. No need to change any configuration settings at all. As plug and play as it gets!

    How are you supposed to tighten the upper brackets after the steppers are in place?
    How are you supposed to tighten the fourth stepper screw once the outer pulleys are in place?

    • @EdsTechTalk94
      @EdsTechTalk94  Месяц назад

      Pretty sure I left the one screw out and it’s been a while since I’ve completed this mod. But I believe you tighten it before adding the steppers.

      @twayne556 Месяц назад

      Thanks, I figured it out, had to go back a few steps and tighten everything down as I went.
      I do have an issue with layer lines now that I didn't have before. Belts are tight but not too tight, rod across the top doesn't bind. Do you have any suggestions?

    Can you please make a video showing how the machine print quality and performance improves? there are no videos on youtube showing the result after upgrades

    • @EdsTechTalk94
      @EdsTechTalk94  Месяц назад

      I’ve said this before. I could but then when someone says they got different looking results then me and blame the mods and not the fact that my belts might tighter or looser then someone else’s could result in different print quality. Thus making a bad impression on the mod when in fact it does its job but it’s up to the creator to perfect the machine.

    I have an axis rails but not belt. Is there a place I can buy just the belt part as shown here?

    • @EdsTechTalk94
      @EdsTechTalk94  2 месяца назад

      The Neptune 4 plus uses 6mm GT2 timing belts, which can be found on Amazon fairly priced. If you are talking about the parts used in TBStron3ds kits, I don’t believe you can order the parts separately. But shoot them an email and maybe they can sen you just the parts and no rails.

    Great video! Does this increase the height of the machine and if so how much? I'm concerned about it still fitting inside my enclosure.

    • @EdsTechTalk94
      @EdsTechTalk94  4 месяца назад +1

      It does increase the height by 2.125 inches (2 1/8”).

    Why would you not want a lead screw? Vs the belt

    Fun video. Have you noticed an increase in your z-axis with this mod? I have ordered and received all the linear rail kits and I was wondering if it would be worth it to buy the belt kit. Thank again for the video!

      I’ve noticed it operates a lot smoother with the belts compared to the rods. I haven’t pushed the printer to hard are just yet. Working on another project at the moment.

    I am doing all 4 update to my Neptune 4 max at the same time. It is harder than doing a single mod at a time. :( But I am getting there. Almost done, should finish today.

    • @EdsTechTalk94

      Oh man that sounds like a lot of fun! Glad it’s almost done! You’ll notice how much quieter it gets too! I was extremely happy with my Neptune 4 Plus after the mods too.

    Why did you make this when the official TBSTron3D videos are so well produced? 😂😂😂
    Seriously though, great job. Great procedural organization, communication, camera work, lighting, and editing.
    Just one bit of input: Many people, including myself, are going to be installing the Z belts and Z linear rails at the same time. Your well written procedures go out the window when we have to combine two videos…so please consider making one last video in the series for the whole Z job. You may even be able to get away with using only existing footage and some editing magic.

    • @EdsTechTalk94
      @EdsTechTalk94  4 месяца назад +1

      At the time of filming the other videos Z belts were not available. TBStrons3D sent them out as soon as they could, they obviously can make the video fast then I can. But I will keep that thought in mind when doing other videos! Always appreciate feedback and thanks for watching!

    hows the print after all this mods , on mine i did apex extruder and Phaetus rapido mod and it made a world of diference

    • @EdsTechTalk94
      @EdsTechTalk94  3 месяца назад +1

      If I use the basic profile in orca slicer it works really well. It made the machine a lot quieter since it’s basically all belts now too.
      But I’m currently trying to improve the speed of print times while maintaining that same quality

    It's a pity there is no comparison of the same prints before and after all these changes

    • @EdsTechTalk94
      @EdsTechTalk94  4 месяца назад

      To be fair, I could get an ender 3 straight out of the box. Tune it to perfection and get the same print quality as any other printer.
      The charts from the other axis proves it was able to help improve the acceleration in the input shaper. I’m still working on tuning my machine to share a profile over all.
