What are your thoughts on the Western Sydney International Airport project and its impact on Sydney's future?

#1 Australia is not Asia. Australia is Oceania. #2 $5.3 billion usd is closer to the price. #3 i wouldn't call a train that takes people far away from desirable destinations in Sydney 'Robust" Travelling by bus around Sydney is fine but western suburbs, not really. Fact checking sucks

It is an airport primarily for WESTERN Sydney, so transport connecting it to WESTERN Sydney is the critical need. Connection to the old harbour city is included, but is a secondary consideration. I know that is hard for people in pompous old Harbour Sydney to get their head around, but that is the reality.
For all intentional purposes Western Sydney is a separate city with a distinct culture. By all means there should be good transport links between east and west, so that people can travel more easily to the West to get good jobs, better hospitals, better educational opportunities, shopping, greater diversity, life experiences and so on.
Western Sydney is already more populous than the rest of Sydney and is growing faster. The maps shown are a few years old and do not give an indication of the industrial and residential areas that are already springing up to the north and south of the airport.
Blue Mountains objections to the airport are somewhat hypocritical. Aircraft movements do not go anywhere near the Three Sisters. Their biggest threat comes from themselves. The highway noise, air and runoff pollution, and similar issues are generated overwhelmingly by the residents, not the visitors. Indeed there is a powerful argument for gradually removing residences from there over the next several decades to restore something much closer to pristine conditions.

It's an amazing project , it will provides many opportunities of jobs , and it will be the sky gate for all over the world for the tourists whom want to visit Australia. I participated in paralympic games Sydney 2000 and I hope to visit Sydney again via the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport.

It will bring jobs, but cause noise and pollution. With 24-hour operations, the new airport will impact people's sleep and quality of life. The unfinished North West metro between Talawong and St Marys will bring increased traffic and congestion on the alreagy overloaded existing west rail line.

Typical of both State and Federal Governments in Australia not building infrastructure for the near foreseeable future. Not well planned.
One runway only. The cost to expand later will be massively more costlier than if constructed now. Similar to our so called freeways that link the major cities and towns within NSW plus QLD and VIC.
