To them, movies are extended advertisements. created to peddle merchandise with no regard for true DC fans. The theaters are full of audiences worldwide. And when the credits roll and the critics descend. When social media is overflown with with critique from both amateur and professionals. And when more and more petitions are signed worldwide, and all the fans demand it. When WB has no choice, but to deliver the film DC fans deserve. Out of all the movies based off of Alan Moore's works this is probably the best we're gonna get. Granted this film isn't entirely perfect and does change some stuff from the original graphic novel but overall it is relatively faithful to the source material. Far more so then League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or From Hell or even V for Vendetta.

      Although they try to seem like they care about a certain issues to help the masses get what they want, ultimately they just want the power to make selfish gains, money, or like in the show, Dr Manhattans power to do what the fuck they want.

    I think Rorschach, the Comedian, and Ozymandias and Dr. Manhattan represent that eternal conflict, would you rather face hard truths even if it destroys you? Or would you rather live in a world of pleasant delusions. Rorschach says no you can't run away, where as Veidt says that a good lie is better than a painful truth. Manhattan and Blake are outside of this debate both can see the world as it truly is, Blake understands people and Manhattan understands the natural world, one ends his story a nihilist and the other finds meaning in life. It's pottery.

    For those of you who think Rorschach is right wing or hates liberals, consider this. His line about "liberals and intellectuals" isn't suggesting that they are, in and of themselves, wrong, he's commenting on those who hold themselves as such and yet don't do anything to help anybody. His hatred is towards people who can do something about the crime and villainy on the streets but don't and then complain about it.

    • @TheNightWatcher1385
      @TheNightWatcher1385 5 лет назад +1

      Perhaps.
      I say he’s clearly a far righter who became that way through a combination of his childhood trauma, watching humanity destroy itself over and over even though they were capable of making better decisions, and the feeling that nothing he does can ever be enough to change things.
      And so with age he’s grown bitter and resentful of the world, and everyone in it. A common foundation for far right thinking. The idea that the world is so screwed up that it needs a controlled cataclysm to get things moving in the right direction again.
