    lovely! lately I have been obsessing over living in a modern Loft. This is the best of both worlds and a whole lot cheaper than conventional homes.

    I loved watching this video. Absolutely beautiful. I have an idea about starting my own community in Haiti, and this video pointed me in the right direction. Thank you ❤

    OMG! is it possible to get the layout for that house? Out of al the hundreds of shipping container home images I've looked at, this house has the best use of shipping container space I've seen. Most shipping container homes are do open floor plan, so they are cavernous or they make them too tiny (think of Goldie Locks and the Three Bears). This layout would be perfect for me. I love the way it's laid out.

      I was just thinking exactly the same. I've spent days looking at big, small, 40 feet, 20 feet and this one best fits what I want to do.

    • @jolawil
      @jolawil 8 лет назад +1

      I love the video, and I agree the floor plan looks just right. I have seen the container homes that look like a cramped "Toy House", or a small "Warehouse", because of the layout. I think they got it right on this one. Also Haiti is beautiful.

      There are several factors in creating an amazing design. One place I discovered that succeeds in merging these is the Rohon Home Build (check it out on google) without a doubt the no.1 course that I have ever seen. look at this incredible resource.

      After spending a year researching and learning everything I could find on how to build a shipping container home, I've decided to build a strawlight clay and cob home instead. It's cheaper, cost effective and I can have the 12' ceilings that I want.

      Hey May, thanks so much for your question. We could see in the future living back in the States for a season. We will go back for a visit around twice a year to connect with supporters, share about our creative projects, and more. But, our hearts are overseas. First here in Haiti then we plan to live in Africa. Hope this helps!

    why yall moved to haiti?

    • @Lukeandsemone
      @Lukeandsemone  8 лет назад +3

      Hey Jean! Thank you so much for your question. We appreciate you. We moved to Haiti out of our relationships with Jesus Christ. It was not a choice we made lightly but are excited to empower and encourage Haitians in many ways. We researched, prayed and visited 2 times before moving here last summer. It was 2 years from the time we first wanted to come before we actually moved.

      I applaud you guys giving up ur piece of the "American dream" 4 a cause your hearts are vested in. what church yall went 2 in da states? Is ur church supporting u guys? And how r u empowering the people?

    • @Lukeandsemone
      @Lukeandsemone  8 лет назад +2

      Thank you Jean for your comment and encouragement! In the States we were a part of a network of home churches called House of Faith. They sent us out with prayer and a one-time money gift.
      We have a number of friends, family and others we know that give through our non-profit, Home for the Nations. Some are faithful monthly supporters.
      Our other stream of income is through Luke's online business, One Nine Pro, and as a freelance designer with a company called Social Vention. We love the arts and see creativity as a part of our ministry in Haiti.
      We are currently empowering the people through language learning, building relationships with the children in an orphanage currently developing a sponsorship program, and working with women through Bible Studies, women's aerobics, and women's/ girls conferences.
      Our vision for the future is pouring into communities, discipleship, building homes, job creation and more.
      You can learn more about our vision here: www.lukeandsemone.com/haiti/
      Hope this helps :)

      thats aweseme. i never heard of that house church organization. God willing Ill like to start a christian school targeting the restaveks. so let me ask, when u guys have kids, how do feel about raising and educating them in haiti vs the states?

    • @Lukeandsemone
      @Lukeandsemone  8 лет назад

      Thanks for your comment Jean! That's great that you have a heart for starting a Christian School targeting restaveks. There is a great need in ministering to the children here as you know. Education is so important. When we have children we have talked about schooling them at home/ having teachers to work with them. But, you never know as things can change. Thanks again for your question. God bless!

    nice but for affordable housing you mean that of which affordable for those who can afford running water in the house. majority of the Haitian population can't afford that

    • @Lukeandsemone

      True. This is just an existing container home in Haiti, but not necessarily the one we would build.
