I came across Renato Garcia, he is a famous Brazilian RUclipsr and is also a legendary Brazilian hunter, I really liked his content, there is one more subscriber.
When I watch these videos, there’s such a mixture of emotions where I’m really sad for the person that passed, and their family, but also appreciation for the fact that material things mean nothing after we’re gone. Thank you!
wow, really strange emotions I get, also like my life is passing by so fast. and soon somebody will visit my home and put it on youtube, like I never existed
I love and appreciate the way you give a detailed history of these mansions. And the way you really give the prior owners and the property so much respect.
What an amazing house. So sorry to hear that the man passed away at such a young age and that the family had to leave because the house wasn't paid off. Sad for all involved.
It breaks my heart when places like this are abandoned. I’m sure the family would have loved to stay. When the main bread winner passes away the rest of the family suffers in many ways. I pray that they find comfort and have somewhere safe to live. 😢
You're right that first room would have been the formal living room and the small paneled room would have been the man's den/office. The large room with the fireplace would have been the family room. For those of us not wealthy and in smaller homes we called ours the den. The rocks by the door were flower/plant beds. That was a thing in the 70's. The down stairs would have been the Rumpus room. A sort of den/game room usually for teens. The downstairs bedrm. would have been the guest room. The large room upstairs would have been the master, remember 70's ideas were a bit different and bathrooms used to be smaller than today! The bat thing is a juggling batton there would have been a set of them four or more. The chain was used for hanging plants. Love that fireplace!! In the 70's nobody hung the TV on the wall, remember we didn't have flat screens then. TVs were bulky in design. Sombody took the mantle probably a very nice one.
The one thing that really stands out for me is the royal blue carpeted grand staircase. And with the blue drapes in the entryway, it is grand indeed! It's so sad that the family had to leave. Just goes to prove that your life can change in an instant.
How devastating that he passed an they had to move! I hope they were able to find a nice, safe place! Such unexpected I'm sure!! what makes me saddest is knowing how many homeless around the US (an only getting worse ) an many never expecting to be an even working... An there's so many places just "sitting, abandoned!" It's so sad!
yes, in ONE split second, 1 heart beat, life can change for an entire family.........when does love become tragedy?? ......... and I love your content........ thank you so much.
I’m not sure if someone else commented this yet but usually in bigger houses or mansions- if there is a smaller staircase adjacent or straight to the kitchen other than the main staircase- it is usually “butler’s stairs” or “servant’s stairs” for people who hired extra help.
This is a very well-done video. You used some good production this time but most importantly you treated a real human trajedy with total respect. This is such a sad tale. I'm 77 now and moved out of a house with a lot of stairs because I worried about heart attack. What a short career after undergraduate school, medical school, internship/residency, and then specialty training in surgery, He had to be late 20s or early 30s when he started practice.
These are some of the coolest places to explore. I love seeing all the amazing finds that they find and exploring. Love watching your guys videos keep posting more. ❤️ Can't wait to watch more videos
😂😂😂 Him saying “this is where they probably mounted their tv” as he points above the fireplace! Oh child! TVs we’re giant heavy pieces of furniture known as consoles.
I discovered your channel through Renato Garcia's channel, who is also a RUclipsr and legend hunter, he recorded a video reacting to your video about this house, I really liked it! You did well, just need to record with Renato Garcia! I hope you call him one day! Save!
It's obvious that there was a sale here. Lot's of items of same grouped together. The window seats is what you were trying to describe and the wallpaper you said was made from potato sacks was actually burlap which was popular in the 70's.
What saddens me most about these videos of abandoned properties is thinking that once people lived happily in these spaces, noisy children ran and played, and today there is only silence and desolation. And the soundtracks you put in the videos make us even sadder. And I wonder where are these people who survived? Are they okay?
Well they said after the man passed away and family had to move since house was not paid off ,a developer had purchased it and the land and has plans on demolition it, and new town houses will be built in place
Hey Big bankz, thanks again for another great upload. I love and look forward to your vids and the feeling I get when going on these adventures with you even if i have to do it virtually it feels like I'm actually there. Sounds silly but I nervously wait for someone to appear yelling, "Hey, What are you doing in here!", or something of the sort. haha. You still have the greatest adventure channel on the net. Cheers.
Just started watching your videos. I'm also from Oklahoma. Dig your work man im a big fan of architecture and understanding the value of life so been digging the vibe
very awesome house, I love the main staircase, the wall paper looked like burlap which was popular back then, very cool layout, just said it is getting torn down, thank you for sharing🙃🙃
Thank you for your content, the way you talk and describe things is so pleasant to watch and listen to. I do miss some shots that connect the separate rooms, so it is partially hard for me to understand the outlaying of the house - I noted this in some previous videos too, therefore asking you to consider some takes that show a more coherent picture of the space you are exploring, a one-take-walk-through or something similar, to understand it in its wholeness. you appear to be an empathetic and kind soul with lots of refreshing curiosity, keep up the good work!
Hello, I came here watching this top video, through Brazilian RUclips Renato Garcia, who records content from abandoned places, just like you, I came to ask none of him that you call him to record with you, it will be really cool.
The outside design reminds me of some apartment buildings in my local area. 2 things I noticed that you didn't say anything about. If the husband died in his 40s then the family probably left either the late 70s or early 80s. Which means someone else has been staying there. Those toothbrushes in the basement are within the last few years and the food in the pantry are modern also. With the fact that it looks like some remodeling has been done I'm guessing someone has lived in the house recently. Also that thermostat is very modern. Just my guess. But within the last year I'd say it had been occupied.
I enjoy the way you show us these homes. It just amazes me that there is no family members that clean out belongings. Do you get to keep any thing when you go through the homes being they area a bandit?
The first thing I wondered is what about his insurance? He must have had life insurance?! What about insurance on the mortgage? We may never know but often, in these specific circumstances, the mortgage is insured against death or income loss. Also, you’d think a man as prominent as him, would have a rather large life insurance policy that could have paid off the house and any other debts. Was someone doing this well, and in his 50’s, not prepared at all to take care of his family? I’d love to find out!
The backstory is almost entirely fake. The owners are still around. They chose to downsize rather than deal with deferred maintenance on a ~7500 square foot house. Carter's sympathetic story is to get you to watch a video of debris so worthless the prior owners left it behind as they downsized.
That blank wall in the other room with the records…In the 70s that is where a screen would drop down for projection viewing. The rich could afford satellite dishes and they were huge!!!
After watching so many videos like this, then finding out the story that the families left after a loved one passed away, it's crazy to think about how many people don't have mortgage insurance, basically if your loved one passes away and they were on the mortgage the house gets paid off, by the bank.
Another amazing video. Your voice is so relaxing. Thank you! It's fun seeing the left over foods. You can really learn allot about the previous owners. I like to picture them there with the house what it would have looked like when they were there. Living a wonderful life. 🫶🫶🫶
"Wow" Big Bankz, this is what happens when you don't have a will, or provisions, are not made for your family. It appears as they were packing, they were putting the things they were leaving behind, were put randomly in any room. We didn't hang TV's in the 70's we didn't have flat screens. It was sad to see the Twin Tower poster. Great video as always, I hope this family found peace and a nice place to live. Love from N.Y.
Hey bro, I discovered your channel through Renato Garcia's video about the doctor's abandoned house, Renato also records videos in abandoned places, it would be cool to see you two together in a legend!
It is a beautiful house for sure I love that all the glass showed epic views of the lake. Two things I would like to have seen you never really showed an outdoor large view of the lake. Also what was name of turquoise and purple bedroom with dog statue on bed ?Thanks loved the tour
I’m new to the channel and have been loving all the videos I’ve seen so far ❤ I’m curious if you have had any spooky experiences in these houses/locations?
I loved this one! Such of a cool house! So much of the original finishes in tact. For sure has foreclosure vibes. Like it was purchased, renovations started then couldn’t afford it.
I am brand new to your channel... I have been watching all your videos. This mansion (the outside) reminds me of appartments in New Orleans. Anywho.. I love your work. Subscribed figured I would hangout a while. -Kell Williamson
Bigbankz Great video Thank you it so sad to see all these beautiful mansion left to deteriorate in the elements don't think the TV 📺 was over the fireplace bc of heat 🔥 I'm would think it was between those two shelves in the wall
Wish you would have checked the expiration dates on some of the food in the pantry, would have given a better idea of when it was last occupied.. Another nice find
I loved this legend. From the outside it looks very abandoned but inside it is totally different as if someone still lives there, I found it interesting

Nothing matters after you’re gone dummy. You seem like you’re broke. Also it’s not a fact it’s a way to cope why you aren’t successful financially

I completely forgot just how huge and clunky tv's were back in the day. Heavy as hell too 😅
You're truly in the know about the 70s. Very accurate

Maybe house plants hanging on those chains --- big in the 70s. Burlap wallpaper. Very cool home! Thanks for sharing!
Such a shame that the kids lost their dad and their home all in a short period of time and also had to leave some of their personal belongings
Such sad story of the family hope the wife and children found peace and found somewhere else to live ,great video and very imformative thankyou

@@melindawakley7859 ok. My mind flipped it cause I kept thinking 45.
Yes...the timeline sounds off...but for sure there were more recent occupants...
Yes, the rocks would have had plants in them. That was common back then. They would have been green house plants, probably not flowering.
what a sad story, 54 is so young. I loved the blue tiled floor, so beautiful and the blue staircase
