To get that nice boned out ollie. Pretend to karate kick your board forward. Look up Sarah park motatt for more understanding. I can also post one of my vids to show you as well.

I been skating for a few months and watching your progress. When you Ollie do you feel the motion of using your ankle to snap the board? I'm trying to stop myself from stomping the tail down

Well not really its mostly muscle memory. All that mostly comes from practice. I think like just practicing the ankle flick by itself goes a really long way yk? Especially when you do it consistently.

That is a really good question, i've been trying to do variants when i 100% snap the board with feet and toes, 100% when i use ankle, i think its something in the between when u do that ankle motion + whole leg flick, but these need to be timed perfectly to get that good pop, and somehow you need to acutally do a jump so the front foot has some work to do too. Just ankle seems to be more consistent though less pop. You can try a nollie, it seems for me i use more of a leg on that one rather than the ankle, and see the difference

@@dupaihu interesting I didn't even factor that into play. I think maybe I need to use the feet and toes more but it's difficult at times since I feel like too much power will make me stomp the ground vs snapping. I'm pretty close to getting them higher I feel it it's just this conflicting step. I ever slightly pinch the tail on the ground. But I also feel like I'm not using my toes enough to pop it down

@@TitoSkates thanks I feel slow at times cause my friend can do it and I can't. But yeah I guess it really is practice. For me it feels more like a habit I'm trying to break and cause of that I have notion I should "work smarter not harder"

@@JDMaamer Yeah, not stomping, but using the motion to get better snap with your ankle, its really subtle timing to get it right, its a really sub second thing, so i guess alot of repetitions to nail it down, good luck dude
