I've witnessed people progress ultra-fast in skateboarding, and this is my experience: I was sitting on a bench with my board on a park near home, 5 kids by the age of 9-12 approached me and asked me to teach them how to skate. I personally know 2 of the kids, they were from the same neighborhood as I and the other kid, Otis, was my actual neighbor. So, I jokingly taught them how to kickflip on the spot since I noticed all of them could actually ride the board already. In my pure state of grin and waiting for someone to eat shit, some kid actually almost caught a clean kickflip, he caught it with both feet but he landed awkwardly with his knees too bent and his other foot slipped out. That's the moment where I stopped and seriously taught them. I basically lied to them that a kickflip can be learned in 1 day to a week. Believe it or not, reverse psychology really works! I stopped skating that day and focused to teach them all. I lent them my board and at the end of the day, just after 2 hours. 4 out of those 5 kids actually caught a clean kickflip, the other kid who didn't, I think his name was Jacob, can land a kickflip but he keeps on getting frightened midway trick. Out of all, my neighbor, Otis, was the best of all 5, to the point that he can catch 9 out of 10 kickflip attempts, almost even caught a heel flip in that short amount of time. To this day, I've been convincing Otis to skate, but his parents are strict and I've already made a bad impression ever since they moved next door.

Your confidence is amazing. Also it wasn’t the shoes that made you land the tricks. It’s the placebo effect, you got something new that is supposed to help with something so it’s makes you think that it is working and gives you this confidence therefore leading you to land a trick
Well yes and no because although proper skateboarding shoes do help with skateboarding it doesn't really matter as long as you got sneakers with some grip on then you can skate pretty normally. Almost like in basketball, doesn't matter if you got some with springs or whatever in your shoes what matters is that they're comfortable while you're balling up. Almost any sport can be done with just about any type of shoes but the ones that are specifically tailored for that specific sport seem to work the best. Anyway it's up to the user to decide whether that's true or not.
Dude, you're really cool, it's my fifth day of skating, and I've just started to feel good on the board, I don't even think about Ollie. Besides, your roads are so smooth!
You can learn an Ollie in a couple weeks, if you put in the work. Don't over think it, just do it. get a feel for the pop first. Once you're brave enough to try it, remember to bring your back leg up with the board after the pop. You can also learn pop shuv-its first to get comfortable with the pop.

Good job man!!!
Got yourself some good friends to keep you going and you got yourself some good motivation homie
Those ollies be floating 1:00
Videoschnitt macht alles leicht.
Even tho I’m like 3 years late I know you improved I’m just getting my skateboard in a few days and your a like a role model to me thanks for posting this
Bro your so good. Keep up the good work.
aprendi com o velho ditado : é caindo que se aprende. JA estou juntando minhas economias para comprar um skate

Nice
Excellent work my guy, you got potential, keep shredding dude ✌️
POV: you’re 33 years old now. And this young man makes you wanna bust out the old board and run some tricks to see if ya still got it :) …… and .. I don’t. 😆 🍻
i can't ollie still- i swear im doing everything right but i just can't
when i try to ollie switch (opposite foot position) I know exactly what to do but still cant ollie properly. it takes doing the same stuff over and over again (:
the main problem with starting with ollies isnt the the jump but the front foot slide to the top of the skateboard, as soon as you jump, at the same time slide ur front foot up at an angle to level the skateboard midair and then u fall and land.
Him: learns to Ollie within a few weeks
*Me who's been skating for about 2-3 months and is kinda getting rocket ollies on cracks*
Me: he's hacking
I’ve been skating for 7 months and I still can’t land a good ollie 🥲
it took me a year to ollie
@@voidgaming1195 took me a week to ollie over a skate while moving
@@yores3362 good for you it took me 3 days after my ollie to learn how to kickflip
YOH THIS KID LEARNED SOO FASTTTT and there’s me who been skating for 3 months and can only do casper and that over thing :000 WELL DONE BOY
Takes about 10 years to get really good keep up the dedication. I'm 24 years in and still shredding at 34 . Nothing better then doing all your tricks first try knowing you worked hard at it and never gave up
