    As a Chinese, I have never thought about the differences between 不 and 没。It's like the grammar rules are built in in my mind. It good and very interesting to look at my own native language from a second language learners' perspective.

      Natives learn the language through their mother's milk that is why for a native things are just too normal.

      It's because you acquire your mother tongue but don't learn it more grammatically just like learners of that language.

    Thanks for making this video. Even if I can't remember all 8 rules, it's good to know there are rules. Sometimes Chinese seems random, so it's nice to see there are rules.

    I had no idea there were this many differences between 沒 and 不. I will definitely keep this in mind! It was also great to learn a little more ab future and past tense!! 谢谢您老师 :)

    i have been learning for a few months through self study. This video helped a bit. I’m sure I will come back to it for reference when I get better at Chinese. But rule 4 really helped, I hope I can execute what I learned well 谢谢老师!!

    Can you please make a video about the difference between: ba, ne and ma. Like for example, if I ask you "you are chinese, right?" Do I say "Ni shi Zhōngguó rén, ma?" or "Ni shi Zhōngguó rén, ne?" or "Ni shi Zhōngguó rén, ba?". What if I instead ask you "You are not chinese, right?". Do I say "Ni bu shi Zhōngguó rén, ma?", or "Ni bu shi Zhōngguó rén, ne?" or "Ni bu shi Zhōngguó rén, ba?". Thank you for being such a good teacher.

      ne is not used in this way.
      ma and ba, ma is you don't have any idea, just ask yes or no, ba means you assume it, just asking to be confirmed. 😊

      yes , by context, your first example, the context would be like you see that your friend´s phone ringing, but he turned it off. so you ask 你为什么不接电话 😊

    Dear Yimin, could you please elaborate on the verb "gei", because I regularly get confused and cannot figure out who is actually the one giving snd who is the one something is given to when I hear "gei ni/gei wo/ni gei wo/gei wo ni..." Many thanks in advance 😊

    I have heard a lot of actors say "mei shi " in dramas. It's normally translated to "it's nothing" after someone asked if they're OK. Is it right to use it?

      hi my friend, the character of "mei shi" you are talking is "没事”, so it's another "shi" , not the "shi 是” we talk in the video.
