    Fantastic video, really helped me. People were telling me I couldn't do 275 35 19 on the back but sounds like I should have zero issues. I've got a 2015 435i on stock suspension. Going 245 40 19 on the front. Currently at the shop getting the rubber put on so fingers crossed. Very helpful video! Thanks!

      I ran 275s with no issues for over a year on these stock rear wheels! Don't listen to the haters, man. They don't wanna see you be great, that's all. I've been on these 285 since I put this video out, and when they wear out, I'm staying with 285s. I have to get a 9.5" to go 295, but I'm ok with my stock wheels and the 285. Runs flawlessly!
      You're gonna love the 275 look! I went from 255 to 275 and it was a whole different look! Nice stance!!

    Great video! Nice to see these tires get decent reviews, in fact for such a cheap tire the reviews I've seen have been exceptional. I'm considering them for a dedicated summer setup to go w/ my All Season tires that I need 5 months a year. Your video may have sealed the deal, and will be going w/a 255/40/18 front on 8.5" wheel and a 285/35/18 rear on a 9.5" width, should work well, and for a tire that costs a third of what the Michelins cost I'm sure they'll do just fine, plus my tire shredding days are in my past lol. Keep up the good work, and nice BMW by the way!

      @bnewt1139 thanks!!! 🙏 And I'm still rolling on them, just fine. They have very little wear and I've put about 13k miles on em. Tread still solid! And they give the car that M stance without the M price tag! Hahaha! I will go 9.5" rear one day, but these 8.5" are doing OK. A little wider wouldn't hurt. There's clearance back there!
      And they look like race tires from the back. You're gonna love it!!!

    I had a similar issue for years running 265/35/19 (loved the look) on my M45 S and after another 2 years and losing another set of tires to inner tread wear, I just put on the factory 245/40/19, problem solved ( although my rims are staggered 19x8 front and 19x8.5 rear and I run 3/4 spacers). No more wiggling and noise, and I believe the "Rear Active Steering" is happy (I rarely see TCS kick in now) It's a shame but like you said on the highway made all the difference, and with my full size spared it showed me i need to run the oem size.
    However, on my nissan I have wider rims from factory and its lowered on coil-overs with 3/4 spacers. I have no choice but to run 235/40/17 (For years I mean 5 years no issues until my tires started dry rotting and pitting that now i need to change them; Plus the shop messed up my alignment.) So I'm going to try these tires on my nissan SpecV. Thank you.

      I run 255/45/19 on the front and thinking of going back down to 245/45/19. Same 8" wheels like you got up there. The 255s make it look beefy, but I know it's killing my gas mileage. Corners like a boss and protects the rims nicely. It just sits wide up there.
      I've not had the inner tread issue on the rear, but I've always had it on the front. Don't know how to resolve that. Tires still last a while, but the inside wears a lot faster.
      The rear has been flawless. The 285s still got a ton of tread from this install video til now.
      What brand coilovers you run? I was looking at some from ebay, but not sure if it will make my ride super bumpy.

    • @gsxellence
      @gsxellence 2 месяца назад +2

      @@MicDropBBQ regarding your possible alignment issue on the front honestly, I forgot to mention I have front and rear camber adjustment arms via truhart ( I think is the correct name).
      I'm not too sure but I'm very sure the setup is very similar to the Infiniti with the double wishbone suspension front and rear.
      Most likely you will have to probably get those adjustments or adjustable camber plates that will allow for caster adjustment and center your tires. Being that it's a performance M series I'm sure your Suspension is fully adaptive, and there may be a way to adjust the tuning with the BMW/aftermarket shop that specializes in them and can help fine tube your line for you.
      On my M45 I chose to leave the set up alone ( so just changed the shocks). The Nissan *(Sentra) has CX racing coil overs (Similar to meganracing which are similar if not another division of BC racing). On my Impala I have BC racing. the mazda 6 I just have oem with Bilstine B4 shocks.
      I can't think of what brand BMW guys run, although lately guys who on budget drifting do raceland ( I can't say I recommend those) I would go with BC, K sports, etc on that line. However, if you'r suspension is adaptive, it's really up to you, I would go with air ride or air coils set up..
      I'm glad the tires are working out for you thus far, and I hope you can get get the wear issue solved. I didn't notice an increase in fuel mileage when I changed to these BlackHawk tires ( I miss my federals), but that also could be due to the recent diff fluid change with redline.
      It's sad, we don't live in the old days when you had really awesome tire brands, at sweet low prices; now we have to be hell cautious on what we get, who it's made buy, and will it last in the long run while also providing us performance with comfort and safety.

    • @MicDropBBQ
      @MicDropBBQ  2 месяца назад +1

      @gsxellence Yeah, the suspension works with a button to firm it up or leave it in Comfort mode. I'm thinking a shop that deals with BMW would say the same thing you're saying, as it makes complete sense to not mess with it. It's tied into the ECU and it's probably tire related more than anything else. I've done camber alignments on my Escalade myself, and it takes forever to do it without a computer or something like that. Literally a week to get it riding right, messing with it daily. Not trying to do all that again. hahaha! Thanks, brotha! I'll talk to a shop to see who set up a 330i Xdrive before and what all they had to buy. I like the ride, but damn the inside of the tires go faster than the outside and that bothers me.

      @gsxellence I have clips of how I built it, and it holds up in this monsoon weather. Less than $400 in steel and the canopy and lights, but took me a weekend off and on. The wooden portion over the driveway was a lot less expensive than the steel one. Just needed to dig holes to bury the concrete blocks the poles are attached to. Always a project, I swear. Hahaha! With traction control on, around 80mph before you start to feel weird. This means you can basically drive the car like a normal car 99% of the time.
      It's that 1% of the time that you want to go a little faster to get around someone on the highway - or to get on the highway - and you've gotta step on it. THAT'S when you'll feel something different with the 285s.
      Now that I've got my tire psi adjusted correctly, I turn the traction control off. With an xDrive vehicle, all of the wheels don't apply the same amount of traction and torque at the same time. I'll do a video about xDrive power and it will make more sense.
      I tested a comfortable top speed for me the other night, and I got it up to 102mph and it felt normal. No shimmy in the back. No shaking. But I have no need to go 102mph, but just wanted to see at what point would it happen again. It's not happening, but that doesn't mean it's engineered the way it should be. That's my disclaimer for people thinking they can watch my video and go, "...it works! I can do it."
      I never said that it works, and I wanna make that clear to anyone trying a setup not designed for narrow wheels and wide tires.

      @MicDropBBQ  11 месяцев назад +1

      265s will fit, no.problem. Now that I've been driving on these tires for a big, I've gotten the hang of them. 285s are even doing better after I replaced the front tires with new ones. Still running 255/35/19 on front, and traction control now matches the wheels speeds better. No wiggle at any speed!
      I should do an update video to break down the setup because it took a bit to figure out. The All wheel drive system was throwing it off because the front tires were old and not in good shape when I added these 285s on back.
      Now, I would say anything up to 285s should be ok if you have the fender clearance.

      @MicDropBBQ  9 месяцев назад

      No issues at all, brotha. I had to get new front tires because when I added the 285s, they were nice and meaty. The traction control couldn't act right because my front 255s were worn down. I put new 255s on the front and BAM! This moves like butter up the highway ramp again! I don't have to use the traction button anymore. Punch and go!
      And yup, I think discount will mount the 265 on the 8.5" I had a tire shop mount the 275's on because I couldn't get the Pirelli run-flats off at home with my manual tire changer. I don't like run-flats because the sidewalls don't bend. The Petlas were easy to put on because of how flexible they are.
      Still cruising on them to this day, but even better than the day I mounted them because I got new front tires, now. They all got meat so the ECU sees them spinning at relatively the same speed.

      Actually corners perfectly. Has a lot of traction back there...way more grip than before. When I initially put the wheels on, it was squirrely because of the traction control. It was my FRONT TIRES that were balding on the inside (I didn't see it til I took the tires off). I replaced the front tires with fresh meat and the car STUCK like a track car! That was my issue. All wheel drive has to have fresh meat all around or else the ECU will start applying grip when it shouldn't! LOL!
      Been riding on them since this video and love the feel. I have no problems at all. And I used to race bikes, so i know how cornering is supposed to feel. This thing GRABS and doesn't slide at all. Traction hits and BAM...off to the races!

      Yeah, a lot of Ace Hardware and Home Depot runs! LOL!
      This car d rove fine - like normal - all the way up to where I decided to break the law and go over 80mph. In order to figure out what the point of elasticity was, I had to break the law first. LOL! As long as you go the speed limit, the car ran like a normal car. But I know how drivers are in Phoenix and nobody drives the speed limit, so you have to be willing to break the law to keep up with traffic. I wanted to make sure this car would do it.
      Now, it does. BUT, I have to turn off traction control or else the car is trying to handle itself instead of let ME drive it. I used to use the lane-software in the car, but I turned that off about a month after owning it. It tries to drive itself and the lanes aren't all designed right. Lotta construction makes this car want to switch lanes on its own with the software it uses, so I turned that off. LOL!
      Trust me, learning this car has been fun. Fabricating on it will be even MORE fun! There's a guy with a 3 that has a CHEVY V8 engine in it! Crazy horsepower and speed. Small BMW like mine, but sounds like a damn Vette sitting there!

I say that because some internet idiot will be thinking this video is one day old and not realize I've been running these tires problem-free since day one. Always an idiot out there: "...you can't do that! It's not gonna work!", only to find out it's been working just fine the whole time. LOL!

    Will a 285/30/19 fit a rim 19x9 25 offset

      Yes. I'm running a 285 on 8.5" wheels. The 9" will make the tires fit better.

      @@MicDropBBQ thank you! Wasn’t sure if it would work. No shop wants to put them on because of liability issues, after seeing this video definitely makes sense now. I’ll have to find a way to throw them on myself

    My big concern is how they do whenever you’re loaded with lots of big people and lots of luggage. Do use this car for Uber or Lyft?

      Did you watch the video? If so, you'll answer your questions and you'll see exactly how the tires handle now. I think you watched the first 3mins and came up with an opinion. LOL! You've gotta watch the whole thing.

      Let's just say there's no concern with my car. My concern is someone who's not as mechanically sound as me trying to do it - then thinking because I did it, they can to. I also added a Gladiator supercharger to a Wrangler engine - and I don't recommend it. It took me 7 days, but I've been driving it for almost 2yrs now. Just because I do something, I don't recommend it. I know how to make things work, but not everyone is like that.
      Someone will throw these 285s on an 8.5" wheel and spin outta control. I know they will. I've done things on all 9 of my motorcycles that I don't recommend others doing, because I know my limits and capabilities, and most people are "plug n play" mentality.
      I don't recommend anyone doing what I did, and if anyone ever says, "...well, I saw a guy online do it, so I did it...", they can also follow that up with, "...but he didn't recommend anyone else do it."
      I'm real about it. This is not a stock setup and not even close to plug-n-play. It takes mechanical knowledge to do most of the things I do in my garage. I also run a 310 rear wheel on a bike designed for a 240 wheel. Yes, I built the setup and have been riding it like that since 2018. I don't recommend anyone else do it, so I didn't even put the schematic for the build online.
      When people see the bike, they ask me how I did it. I tell em, but I never show em, because I don't want them to try and end up killing themselves doing engineering that's not plug-n-play.

      I laughed when you said "lots of big people and lots of luggage." You CLEARLY haven't seen my videos where I say I cancel people all the time for that. I have a 2019 BMW, not a Suburban. LOL! If you watched my videos, you'd laugh at yourself for saying that to me. You apparently don't know me that well. LOL! That was FUNNY!

      No worries bro, I often ask questions as the video is going along because I might forget the question if I don’t and it makes for a good conversation. Case in point, our conversation. Yeah I run a minivan just so I can carry big luggage and big people. I did finish the video on about the tires but I was curious if they rubbed if you had a lot of weight. I’d like to put slightly larger tires on my minivan but I’m not sure if they would rub it and how it would affect the handling in the Uber inspection here in California. I could use an extra three or 4 inches altitude but I’m restricted in what I can do to attain it.

      @SB Rides 805 You can always do a 2" leveling kit (if they make one for the van) then add 65 series tires to put some distance under it. The struts have a stopping point that usually prevents them from bottoming out under Wright.
      Also, they have frame stops to keep the frame from touching the body, and that helps the tires clear when turning and under loads.
      The Jeep is literally a suspension work of art! Lol! The work I've done to that is hard to explain, but I do my best to make it make sense. Springs and shocks, plus bump stops.
      I've seem vans become overland vehicles with the right control arms and suspension setup. They do certain trails like Jeeps.
      For your rear suspension, you may just need springs that are another inch or two taller, and that will keep it from bottoming out under load. That's why my Jeep is 3" in front and 4" in rear. Under load, it doesn't sag.

      That's an easy fit. Yes you can do 265s. I had 255's on the 8.5 wheel when I bought the car. I went up to 275 and they did fine. Added these 285s and now feel a lot better driving on them now!
