I used to do this type of workout as a weekly tempo session, minus the 400s. 3x2 mile threshold, with 5 min very light jog recovery. Very nice feeling at the end if you can properly relax into them...like you've really accomplished something for the day but not ruined yourself. Only running them at 5:40ish though, not low 5s like Molly!
All these videos really make you appreciate the difference between logging loads of junk mileage vs specifically trained workouts that even tho might seem harder time and duration means they must be able to recover faster from them, these videos are shaping my training in a all new way

In my early days I use do 10-12 X 400m/ 62’s seconds repeats. wow this just gave me some flash back - I bet if wasn’t training now I probably wouldn’t be watching it at all … will maybe lol anyhow this year was a dedication to back and what I love to do so i started my training as of Dec 13 of 2022. just completed my 3rd marathons as of this month for the year. what a year it has been for me also BQ for Boston and Chicago for next year . Thank you my running comm you’ve inspired me again to back to my true first love 🖤🏁👟 I was 4:10mi and 9:15 2mi - in my HS ! Heyy life happens !!

195ish cadence plus this is probably her easy-moderate pace. The guys have lower cadence but the tall guy has 180spm but again tall so it looks like he's dragging his feet.

He’s taller than Molly. The taller a person is, the less efficient they are with a short stride. As long as he’s working at the right effort level when hitting the proper splits in workouts and races, his form is not important.
Is that track 440yards or 400m ? Whenever US people film 'a mile', they run exactly 4 laps which is 9yds short of a mile on a 400m track. I didn't know anyone still had 440 yard tracks

No, I’m pretty sure the two guys who were helping her are just her friends. Her coach was not there on that day, he just told them what the workout was, and they just did it by themselves. The two guys just helped Molly out with the pacing to make sure everything goes well

There's another Japanese runner, Ayuko Suzuki, who has rather high cadence as well.
