i was once a triss enjoyer, but then i learnt that triss betrayed ciri and yen to be loyal to the lodge. meanwhile yen stood her ground against the lodge, and once even drained her life energy trying to save geralt, killing herself in the process.
to me it was more a matter of who do i want as the mother to ciri? someone who has betrayed ciri and geralt for her position in the lodge, or someone who would stand against the lodge and quite literally give her life for geralt? yeah no question about it lmao.
After the way Yen treated Skjall, a man who quite literally SAVED HER DAUGHTER’S LIFE, I knew I didn’t want to be around her anymore.
I don’t care if that wasn’t truly Skjall we were speaking to. She just left his corpse there to rot. He threw away his honor to get Ciri to safety, even abandoning his family to do so. He deserved some respect.

at least yen’s situation was within the context of a desperate search for ciri. yes skjall deserved more respect, but triss clearly didn’t respect geralt, ciri, and yen’s trust when she betrayed them for the lodge.
Sure just ignore everything Triss did for Geralt in the W1 and W2 and I can agree with you.
Having picked both in different play through I think as a player it doesn’t really matter and Geralt seems happy with both in the end. Though I feel that the Triss enjoyers who are so adamantly against Yen either only played the third game or just choose to ignore the rest of the story and lore
No option is perfect but Yen is the only real choice for Geralt
@@MrFallenone you mean when triss took advantage of geralt who had lost his memories, practically forcing herself onto him? when she hid the fact that she was working with the lodge from geralt in w1? sure she’s helped geralt, but deep down she’s a selfish person whose focus just changed from the lodge to geralt after the lodge was destroyed. she also doesn’t care about ciri nearly as much as she claims to, since she was willing to let ciri become a breeding machine against ciri’s will. self-proclaimed “older sister” of ciri, by the way. ciri has never once considered triss her older sister, but she has called yen her mother. easiest choice of my life.

gaetan was literally stabbed in the back with a pitchfork by said villagers to avoid having to pay him, the "reformed" mercenary is currently participating in the slave trade and his "wife and kids" are a serving maid and her children he bought out to try and garner sympathy from geralt and lambert

I also chose Triss on my first playthrough. She seemed nicer to Geralt. This was before the Netflix show existed and before I read the books. Yennefer romance is canon.

Here's my take on this. If you have only played Witcher 3 and do not know the history, the lore between the characters- it is very easy to choose Triss over Yen. Triss is shown as very endearing, her whole plot in Novigrad is to save other mages. But she is absent for more than half of the game. And all you've to do is just let Triss go- stopping her and telling her that you love her is the extra effort you put. Letting her board the ship almost feels too organic for the plot.
But the game literally forces you to call quits when it comes to Yen. There is nothing organic or simple about it. You have to break her heart in order to be with Triss.
It always felt to me that even the game gave subtle indications that breaking up with Yen is the wrong move.
But I guess heart wants what it wants.....
I first warched the first season of the Netflix series and really hated Yen and then i begann playing TW3 and i didn't hate Yen but was stil not a fan of her and i wanted to choose Triss but after Priscillas Song i decided to choose Yen and never regreted it.

When I first played this game I hadn't read the books but Yennefer was still the obvious choice. After reading the books even more so.

When I read the books it made me HATE Yennefer even more. Triss isn’t perfect by any means, but reading a guy’s mind when he LITERALLY TELLS YOU TO STOP, is a massive violation of consent. It’s practically a form of rape.

Zanny. I am a fairly new viewer. But let me just say how impressed I am with your integrity when it has come to the romance questlines.
Many a Witcher 3 player has succumbed to Triss' enchantment in the Novigrad section of the game, only to cave to Yennefer's unyielding (at times oppressive) gravitas in the Skellige portion. You fell for the classic blunder. The redhead with smoky eyes. But you stood by your choices, and didn't switch back to Yenn like a coward.
I have nothing against either Team Yenn or Team Triss. While I tend towards Yenn because of her chemistry with Geralt, I actually prefer the Triss ending of the game.
But what's really important here is your demonstration of PRINCIPALS. You made a choice, you stood by it. Despite chat yelling at you. and Yenn being Yenn, you stood by your decision and I commend you for it. True chad behavior. LOYALTY. COMMITMENT. Take notes gentlemen. This is how it's done.

Dude this game is so incredible. Like no matter what quest you’re choosing to do or activity you’re doing they all have good rewards and great stories tied to them. Like do you wanna go to skellige? Do you want to play the high stakes gwent tournament? Do you want to go plot to kill a king? Do you want to just fuck off and go exploring and check out the map and find cool witcher gear? Go for it everything is genuinely interesting and rewarding….

@@toozannyKaer Morhen is ugly as hell. Look into some of the witcher school gear like the Cat armor. Will be amazing stuff in the second DLC when you can upgrade to Grandmaster

My least favorite thing about the Witcher is how toxic the fanbase gets when the subject of Triss vs. Yen comes up. I say this as a diehard Triss fan: let people play the game the way they want to, making the choices they want to. love your timeline zanny, triss definitely is very hot (hehe) and sweet but saying no to yen sure as shit hurts. On my triss playthrough the djinn fight was super rough and literally took me a couple hours just to go through the emotional torture right after, crazy stuff.

Since you've taken to the Witcher Universe and Gwent in particular Zanny, may I suggest Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales? It's their expanded, more advanced version of gwent in an awesome story and artfully rendered version of the witcher world. Really feel that a lot of people slept on this game, but it's one of the best stories and experiences I've ever had in the witcher world, maybe apart from Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. I think it could really work in your format too, and maybe open a lot more people's eyes to it ❤
So sad that they cancelled all other Witcher Tales projects after Thronebreaker underperformed (little wonder considering it came out in like a week time before fucking RDR2)

You must play the DLC's. It's just as good as the main story and they are both one of the best DLC's i've ever played
The DLCs turn the game from a 9/10 into a 10/10 gaming classic. Before I played them I rated Witcher 2 slightly higher.
