Tbf, the amount of times I’ve seen grown adults going “hmm, what was I doing? Where was I going? What should I do now??” E Gadd checking in so many times makes sense. 😅
This isn’t a bad game, but it’s such a slog to get through at times, especially if you want to find all the gems. You can’t just do it in one go, you have to come back to previous chapters as you get new gear. I’m glad Luigi’s Mansion 3 went back to form, it’s a much more streamlined experience. I do love that they gave Luigi a ghost doggy in this one, that was a perfect choice 👌
It's not just the controls you have to take into considering when making a game for a portable platform, but the gameplay as well. This was clearly made to pop on and play for a little every now and then, quick to pick up and put down. This structure grants a lot of content when played that way, but is really dull to grind away hours on.
Ray must love this game as much as he loves Resident Evil (not at all)
The crime of being designed as ds game ment for short missions and padding. Better graphics doesnt do much

@@GabePuratekuta eavesdropping and tailing missions. It was so disliked I think we only played like the first sequence or two before he not only rage quit and we swapped to marbles but he actually said I’m not uploading the vod because I refuse to let people watch something where I’m mostly unhappy. It’s also why he dropped AC for a while then only played parts of newer ones after playing the first few to completion.
@@Legoluke197 But he uploaded the Banjo-Tooie VODS and he was very unhappy then as well.

As much as I absolutely love the luigi's mansion series. I really had to force myself to finish the 3DS version of Dark Moon.
Same as ray, I hated constantly being pulled out of the mansion just for e.gadd's yapping and then sent back and all boos locked in each mission.
Also, why 60$
Still had fun watching Ray play

Despite a few annoyances like E. Gadd calling so many times. I really enjoyed this game on the 3ds. Don’t think I’ll get this on the switch though since I still have my 3ds and this game on it which works quite nicely.
I think the reason why the format of the game changed is because it went from Gamecube with 1 to Nintendo 3DS with 2. And that's why the structure is different with everything being a level and you get kicked back to E. Gadd like it's Mario 64 and Sunshine.

It sucks Nintendo made this $60 cause this game was awesome as a $25 3ds game when I was a kid. Now Nintendo is making older mid games the same price as newer titles which makes these games look like shit in comparison when they were alright for the time. Get your shit together Nintendo!
So somebody did digging through this game's files, it's literally just the 3ds game slapped onto a switch cartridge. There's literally a folder for street pass data still in the code lol.
Slightly misleading. It isn't the 3DS game. It was remade with the same file structure (not necessarily the files, but the file structures). Not the same as "literally just the 3DS game".

it's sad that you did not like it, i have a very big soft spot for Luigi's mansion Dark Moon as a game, it's my nostalgic favorite out of all Luigi mansion games

I vote for Ray to replace the time he was planning to allocate to LM2 to finishing Metroid Prime Remastered instead
The controls in dark moon is completely different in every way for doing stuff, in the DS you never use the analog stick and still not using the analog stick to move ur vacuum is still better than using the analog stick. Turning around your body to aim in a different direction is still the primarily best way to aim. Using X and B to look up and down as well. I played dark moon a lot and thats how you have to play. I think the controls are fine once you get use to them but its really hard still. Also using motion controls is some freak level stuff.

I think this is a case of expectations. It’s an HD release of a DS game so if you come into it expecting them to have changed it to work exactly like one and three then you’re going to be disappointed, but if you loved the DS version venue might love this one because it’s exactly what you want a updated graphic version of what you played all those years ago. So it’s fine if someone like Ray or other people don’t like it, but it doesn’t necessarily make it bad because it doesn’t fit their expectations.

i never played this one but loves 1 and 3 and me and my friend both cant quite place what is really dragging this down but might just be a combo of things and them trying something different
As someone who could never get into luigi's mansion 3 bevause it felt like i had to constantly follow a walkthrough tjis game might be better for me with specific missions and objectives. Will have to come down a lot in price before i pick it up though

Honestly, the game would have been a LOT better if not for the mission system making you repeat the levels over and over and over. If you could do the entire level's missions in a row without getting forced to warp back, it would have felt more streamlined.

I remember Luigi's Mansion 2 being such a letdown for me when I got the game. I wish Nintendo could've at least made some very necessary "quality of life" updates, but I don't think it would've fixed the issues this game had. Glad they returned to their roots with the 3rd game though.
