    Errors:
The Hidden Mansion IS in all regions, it’s just that the PAL one is much better. All America got were ghosts with more health and a stronger Poltergust. PAL on the other hand got a lot more changes that I won’t get into
E.Gadd says at the end that all Luigi’s hard work lasted only one night
Luigi’s Mansion 64 could refer to the ROM hack, or that Luigi’s Mansion started on the 64DD in 1999, but that didn’t last long
SM64 audio sample refers to how when you collect one of Mario’s items, the star collect sound from Mario 64 plays
I have no clue about the crows but I think it might be how they appear in the one cutscene and never again
Not an error, but the biography of Sue Pea is really depressing
My guess for the 3DS Box Art is that they updated the Luigi model, but not the ghosts model
There was an unused multiplayer mode that was recently found. Maybe that’s where bMario was going to be used
The first person view from the GBH can be seen in the same magazine the Safari Ghost rumor came from. It’s either on the same page or the one next to it
Luigi’s shoelaces never appear in any game again
There’s no official answer to how Mario was captured, but a video by ZoomZike used evidence from the game to try and figure it out
I’m pretty sure the reason the larger gallery exists is because they were testing room scales. Even if the room itself is longer, the collision is the same as the final
Area 4 darkness refers to how the hallway in Area 4 can never be lit up
Why would King Boo plant more of Mario’s items that would help Luigi? He probably did bring spares
Something about Bogmires origins, and I don’t remember where I heard this, but I remember hearing that Bogmire is a creation made up of fear, more specifically, the fear of others
Real Money refers to how usually we see only Coins in the Mario universe, but this is one of the only times we see stuff like dollar bills and gemstones for currency
I have no clue what Fire Tornado is
Living Spooky refers to how in one of the rooms (Lydias, I think?), there’s a framed picture of Spooky when he was alive. I don’t blame you for getting this wrong, because the source didn’t include it
Beta64 said it took 6 months to program the dust, so either you’re wrong or he is. I’m leaning towards Beta64 being wrong, because it’s hard to argue against game files
I would bring up other things like Elemental Blast and how I did actually hear something in the Toad theme right before the song looped, but other commenters pointed those out. Overall, this was a great iceberg. my compliments go to you 👍

Thanks! I appreciate hearing feedback from people, it means more to me than people think. Unrelated to this video in specific but I’ve thought about making addendum videos with full corrections or added context, as my older vids get a lot wrong at times, and I’ve since gotten better at researching and what not. There’s only a couple of things in the iceberg vids that actually embarrass me that I got wrong, but it is what it is as nobody is perfect

Added correction, Real money, I’m pretty sure refers to the fact that the money found in the fake mansion is real, which is why Luigi builds a new one in its place depending on how much money he finds. This is what I always heard about this point at least.

Hiya. Commenting about the Bogmire fear entry. When you look at Bogmire's entry on the GBH (Game Boy Horro) it says that he is a product of the mansions fear and despair. But that he's not sure who to fear or what to despair of. Reminds me of my depression lol

I believe that unused "poisoned" animation is actually a choking animation. You know, for when the grabbing ghosts grab you. They probably thought it looked a little too violent, so they made a new version that looks more like Luigi is struggling to get the ghosts off of him, rather than him actually having his windpipe throttled.
This would also make sense because some of the grabbing ghosts don't even do damage to you when they grab you, they only hinder your attacks, so it would make sense to have a more tame animation for that.

    • @user-Tod-The-Toadster
      @user-Tod-The-Toadster 3 месяца назад +2

The thing about Gadd is, he's not evil. He's just not nessicarily good either. He only cares about his inventions and experiments. He sees everything Luigi does as purely a test of his inventions, which is reflected in some of the things you'll hear him say after missions in other luigi's mansion games. He's always really quick to shower his inventions with praise while disregarding those around him. Here's a couple examples:
After the Bogmire fight: "Even if that lightning had cooked your goose, the Poltergust 3000 would be perfectly fine!"
LM3, when first rescued: "You want to save your friends, you say?" *Throws head back dramatically and groans*
LM2, after the mission Double Trouble: "I really haven't been paying attention to what's been going on up there... I thought a ghost had somehow snuck through with Toad, so I socked him in the nose! He'll heal up eventually."
He's also constantly talking about forgetting his toad assistants. He has no problems throwing Luigi into dangerous situations, but he also never really leaves Luigi with no options. In fact, the entire Dark Moon game was started by Gadd literally abducting Luigi against his will. True, it ended up being a good idea to do, since Mario was captured, but there's more! In the security pictures that the toads give you throughout the game, he sees Mario's hat in the painting and doesn't recognize him until most of the painting is visible in the last image. This shows how little he pays attention to other people.
Him giving the brush to Bowser Jr was just another of his experiments. He got to test both the brush and the FLUDD at the same time while not having to put in an ounce of work himself. He does the same with the Poltergust, Dark Light Device, Stryobulb, Gooigi, and even his E-Gates with Luigi throughout the course of the three games.
I think Gadd is merely a psychopath, incapable of feeling emotions or real connections to people. Not an evil one, just one that only finds meaning in life through his inventions.

1:06:34 Wait, how is it an obscure theory that King Boo is the one who sent the letter telling Luigi he won the mansion?
He pretty much confirms this in his final speech.
King Boo: "...Seriously, though, who would actually believe that mansions get given away in contests?! Talk about stupid! What do they feed you Mario brothers anyway... gullible soup?"
Why would he say this if the letter was actually real?

In my opinion, the crows are a symbol that Luigi's entering the range of the mansion's illusion. Since they don't reappear anywhere plus the fact that they're live animals compared to the ghost rats and bats seen in the mansion, the crows signify to the player narratively that you've crossed the line into the supernatural.

1:08:03 For the “fire tornado” entry, my guess is that this entry is talking about a visual flair that appears during the King Boo/Bowser fight. If you pay attention to the background scenery during the fight, you can sometimes see a fiery vortex move about. While this can happen multiple times throughout the fight, the vortex is pretty brief and can be easy to miss. That’s my guess for that entry.

My theory for why Bowser Jr. got the magic paintbrush is that he already had the bandana that turned him into Shadow Mario, so E. Gadd thought he was Mario.
Or Bowser Jr. only thinks Gadd "gave" him the brush because he likes to think of himself as the good guy and in reality he never got permission to take it.
Or he's just straight up lying. Wouldn't surprise me.
Or maybe E. Gadd simply didn't think Bowser Jr. would be a bad guy, since they didn't know each other, and maybe Jr. pretended to be nice, and so Gadd thought he could trust the young fella.

I never found the controls of the 3DS remake to be bad. On the contrary, the fact that you can hold a button to switch between sidestep mode and standard mode adds a ton of flexibility in the movement. Plus, there are gyro controls that let you easily aim up and down, which is very useful. The only downside is the lack of analog triggers, meaning you can only shoot your elemental attacks at a consistent rate.

I also gotta say, the audio cues were a very nice touch. The way you would segue showcasing a song into it being the bgm track, or subtly changing the bgm after showing a song or sound was a great change of pace and probably one of the most unique qualities i've seen in an iceberg video, since most of them just tend to stick with one bgm per layer. It’s worth noting in regards to the timeline placement theory, that in Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga E Gadd makes a pretty notable appearance and references the events of Luigi’s Mansion. This game also prominently features Bowser (he is the final boss in a matter of speaking after all) and In Partners in Time E Gadd is literally the reason the plot of that game even happens at all. In Partners in Time we even get to meet a young E Gadd in the past studying Thwomps.
Suffice it to say, Luigi’s Mansion can’t take place at the end of the timeline since the events of the games are referenced within it, and also Bowser is still alive in all of the occasions in which it is made reference.

Replying to the question at Minute 51:32
Personally i don't feel like Egadd orchestrated the whole plot of Luigi's Mansion by reviving King Boo (Tho Sunshine is entirely his fault). In the game it is said that the mansion is basically King Boo's plan to take revenge on both Mario, Luigi and Egadd all combined, Mario & Luigi most likely becouse of the multiple instances of Mario defeating him (It's not confirmed but i believe he's the Big Boo we fight on both SMW and Mario 64 since King Bob Omb is just referred as Big Bob Omb on the same game) and Egadd becouse he captured Boolossus just days prior.
Egadd still is a neutral character tho, still felt like clarifying this point, good video still!

I think the abnormality in the Gallery Background music (1:07:25) is referring to either the weird distortions in the music, or towards the end of the track, you can hear what sounds like faint clacking and/or clattering.

Elemental Blast refers to a hidden mechanic where if you lightly press L, then press it all the way down quickly (or simply tap it hard), Luigi will shoot an elemental projectile that hits all enemies in its path. This mechanic is never explained in the game. Doing this uses up a lot of elemental charge, though. This is extremely helpful versus Boolossus because the ice projectile freezes Boos from afar, since they always try to fly away if you get too close.

Also, I think the "Weird Noise" in Toad's theme is where there is no melody, it sounds like someone moving a chair and it squeaks. The sound is only there for a moment but a few times.

How can SML1 & 2 be set way after Bowser is dead when characters like Daisy and Wario appear in games which have Bowser clearly alive? Wario is even in the DS remake of 64 which i'm pretty sure that game would take place way after SML2 after Wario went through character development.

39:14 Something interesting is that both houses are missing the stone fence but comparing the two, the Mario Kart (Rank A) is more closer to it's buding desing then Dark Moon (Rank D) yet the Dark Moon (Rank D) is built on the ground simular to the original, unlike Mario Kart (Rank A)...
Another possibility is that Luigi had enough for both the Rank A manison & the Rank D house (considering the Rank A different location).
or another way to explain both mansion existing would be the Hidden Mansion.
42:20 Hold it for amoment, it was discovered in the code that multiplayer was actually being worked on in the original game (While it does cause some issues, it is still somewhat work)

I remember seeing the beta Luigi's Mansion game over screen and being so terrified of it that I tried to play it, but ended up just staring at the console menu for about an hour because I was so scared that it was still in the game
Also, I'm pretty sure I know why the Sitting Room is so unsettling. The room is designed more like an actual room in a house rather than a game level, and that makes it strangely nostalgic, especially with the flower wallpaper and couches being something you would find in, say, a grandparent's house. This nostalgia is warped by the overall creepy nature of the game, the graphics that remind you it isn't real, and the ghosts in the room.

    • @maestro9765

The Sitting Room has no 'aura' at all to me. I don't get it, at all. It's a bit out of place because of how colorful it is, but that's not creepy. I could probably think of 15 rooms that are more unsettling than the sitting room. It's one of the most average rooms in the game, aside from the Anteroom.

I have a theory about the mansion being burned down. The background of the King Boo fight shows the mansion when it was burning down. The graveyard is where the people living there were buried, and it’s next to the mansion because they valued it so much that they never wanted to leave, not even when they were dead. It’s also why the mansion isn’t real, it’s been burned, and the version we see in-game was a twisted recreation made by the ghosts.

1:10:23 When you think about it, it's not totally unfounded that Luigi could see lightning from every room in the mansion, assuming the whole building is an illusion. However, given the history of stuff in the mansion, namely the portrait ghosts, it's hard to know for sure whether the mansion truly is an illusion. E. Gadd doesn't really seem like the most trustworthy guy, and if I remember correctly it's only him that claims the mansion is an illusion.
Regardless, it's interesting to think about, although it's probably just an oversight by the devs.

    • @nonnoumby
      @nonnoumby 7 месяцев назад +1

IIRC before they turn Mario back EGadd mentions that the mansion disappeared after King Boo was captured, and that's why they used the money to build an actual mansion for Luigi, confirming it was an illusion all along.

While I don't doubt the Crows were just included in the intro to add to the spooky ambience, if you are looking for a more significant symbolic meaning to them, there is some substance to look a bit deeper into.
Crows are often used as a symbol of death, as they are scavengers who eat dead animals. Their presence could be seen as foreshadowing of the fact that the mansion is filled with the ghosts of dead people, or that Luigi is following the map to what is supposed to be his death.
Crows are also infamous for stealing shiny objects. That could also mean their presence foreshadows the vast amounts of gold and coins within the mansion.
Lastly, crows are incredibly intelligent birds. Perhaps the crows already know what's going to happen?

    • @jstr6522
      @jstr6522 6 месяцев назад +1

I think it's strange that one crow was clearly sad and the other angry. In the game there are 2 main ghosts that this boils down to, King Boo and van Gogh. Their personalities do match the birds too

Regarding the whole "Bowser is dead and Luigi's Mansion takes place at the end of the timeline" theory, it's established that Mario Sunshine takes place after Luigi's Mansion, where Mario apparently gives a funny look to a hotel janitor who wishes someone would vacuum up all of the ghosts in the hotel, implying that Luigi's Mansion happened before.
Regarding King Boo wanting to pay back the Bros. for "causing so much trouble for him", he could be referring to the many times the Bros. fought the Boos like in 3, World, and 64. Or if we're to take 64 DS as canon where Mario actually gets to fight King Boo, he could be referring to that (unlikely since LM1 came before DS).
I wonder if the line "I thought Mario had soundly defeated Bowser!" was added in to poke fun at the notion that Bowser always inexplicably manages to return to cause more trouble, no matter how many times he gets dunked in lava or falls from a deadly height or is thrown into bombs. One console generation later he is sent flying towards the sun and literally one cutscene later he's monologuing about how he lost.

As someone with a few of the luigi's mansion sets; they're pretty neat! the start element for 'em (functions like the start-a-course warp pipe) will make the luigi's mansion theme play rather than the regular overworld music from the original SMB., plus you can use it (or the pipe) together in a course to give yourself more time (every extra starting element with a unique code tile will add another 30 seconds or so to the course timer when scanned) to complete your course. As for the poltergust it's also a little fun, the "button" on the front of it to make it suck will press down on an extra pin on the figure (they have 6 pins that the different "suits" press down on; this is how they know what powerups are which ones) and it's the only way (besides a power star/starman/whatever you wanna call it, the twinkly little thing that makes you invincible, we all know what I mean) to defeat ghost-type enemies (including boos! besides the old king boo. not sure about the new king boo with the actual accurate design, i don't have that one. yet.)

Fantastic video, I was hoping for today to be a productive day with sitting down to get some homework done, but as soon as I saw my Iceberg in a video I knew I had to sit down and watch it immediately
Never thought something I worked on in between my High School classes would be turned into an hour-long video. When I finished this Iceberg in 2022, I had actually started writing a script for a video explaining it, but I never finished it with finishing High School and now starting College. But now I can put that idea to rest seeing as someone made it. Still in awe
Though that being said, I really didn't think someone was gonna make a video explaining it, I've been meaning to go back and add a few things that I had learned, but more importantly, make it more professional by adding more explanation to the entries and deleting a few.
I'm a Luigi's Mansion 1 superfan and there were many iceberg charts of it but none of them had a full list of most of the game's knowledge. All had scatter shots of info when I was like "What about this?"
Not only that but I wanted to add a few entries that I had seen nowhere or no one was talking about.
I would have loved to help you with this video, and explain a few things/had my input
A few times I was like "No no, you had it right the first time" or "Yep you got it, even though I didn't provide an explanation on site. (Which I'd been meaning to do lol)
My Twitter and Instagram are both also Maddosshmillmore. I'd love to talk about this experience and explain entries that may got misunderstood.
Will check out the rest of your channel, love Iceberg videos :)

I just thought of a theory of what elh could've been. I think he may have been like a reoccurring miniboss. And if you beat him, you'd unlock one of the elemental powers. I mean, his name is elh. It could very well stand for something like "Elemental Hazard" or something. Which would fit his file name sounding like an obvious placeholder. And with those unused cores, it could've been a way to show which element attack he was going to use, or which one you'd unlock. And perhaps since he has elemental attacks, maybe he started fighting you by swinging his arms at you, before then using elemental attacks after you damage him a certain amount by what I think would require you to try and pull his core out of his body. And when you beat him, the core would shatter and the elemental medal would drop. As for him rising out of the ground, perhaps once you clear a certain room or some other criteria is met, he'd appear and attack you. And it's up to you to defeat him so you can get the elemental power needed to progress. But that's just my theory though. I could be completely wrong, or I could be completely right. I guess none of us will ever know for certain.

Great video! But I have noticed a couple of minor mistakes that I wanted to point out from my own research:
11:51 That image of Luigi entering the mansion is ripped straight from the E3 trailer, but with a grainy filter and hue change
13:37 This happens both when the room is dark and lit, the clip shows the chandelier falling with lights on
20:50 The Hidden Mansion mechanic is present in all versions of the game, but only in the PAL is it mirrored as well as feature the Poltergust riding mechanic during Boolossus fight. Also, in the PAL, you can only earn rank A in the Hidden mansion. The regular mode simply doesn't contain enough treasure for rank A to be possible.
25:23 The idea that Luigi's mansion lasts one night is also referenced by E Gadd at the end of the game, he says something along the lines of "and you managed to do did it in one night!"
39:43 It was without any doubt a test poster, the file name is literally "test".
45:43 It was from a screenshot from Nintendo power. The same issue that featured the claim about the safari hunter ghost.
52:42 This actually refers to that you never see Area 4 with lights on. Because it's the last area, so once you clear it you beat the game and never see it again, hence you only ever see Area 4 in darkness, unlike the previous 3.

The Bowser death theory is a good one but it's been confirmed that the Paper Mario world is separate from the mainline universe, and quite literally is within a storybook. Most likely King Boo is referring to his time as Big Boo in SM64 and Super Mario World when he's saying the Mario Bros gave him trouble before. And at this point Bowser has been dead multiple times before so he still very much could've been dead but just not from Paper Mario.

I have seen a couple Portrait Ghosts family tree, yet I have my own theories that I feel make more sense. If anyone disagrees, let me know and we can have a friendly discussion! Just try to read everything:
    - Vincent Van Gore being Nana's husband does not make sense. Because he is a reference to Van Gogh, his bio says he was not able to sell any of his art for 30 years, this meaning that him being the first owner of the mansion alongside Nana just doesn't add up. Instead, I think he is one of Nana's SONS, and he is Neville's older BROTHER.
    - I believe Nana to be Neville's mother, and Neville having three brothers: Vincent Van Gore, Uncle Grimmly, and Mr. Whirlinda, since their faces' shape is much more similar to Neville's. Since Van Gore never got to sell any of his paintings, he never left Nana's home (the mansion). Since he is the older brother (and there is nothing like a grandpa portrait ghost to go alongside Nana), Van Gore's portrait would occupy the center of the Parlor, alongside Nana (his mother and original Mansion owner), Neville and Mr. Whirlinda (his brothers), and Lydia (Neville's wife). Grimmly's portrait is not there because, as his bio says, he is a forgotten (and probably undesired) family member.
    - Mr. Whirlinda is Neville, Grimmly, and Van Gore's younger brother due to his face shape and hair color being much more similar to Neville's than Lydia's. He married Mrs. Whirlinda (which could also be Lydia's sister too) and they had a girl, Sue Pea.
    - Henry, Orville and Chauncey are all Neville and Lydia's children, and Spooky is the family pet.
    - Shivers is the butler, so he is not related to anyone.
    - Biff Atlas is Lydia's older brother and Sue Pea's uncle.
    - Mr. Luggs and Miss Petunia are probably siblings, due to them being the only ghosts with purple skin instead of pale blue skin, plus, thair body build is really similar. However, I do not know how they could be related to the rest of the ghosts.
    - Slim Bankshot and Sir Weston are brothers because of their physical lookalike. Melody could also fit here because this is where she fits better. These three are most probably Nana's nephews and Neville, Mr. Whirlinda, Van Gore and Grimmly's cousins.
    - Madame Clairvoya stays as the most misterious and unknown of all the ghosts. She can't fit anywhere because she does not show her hair nor her face, plus, the GameBoy Horror never tells us her age. She satys unknown.
    - Bogmire was created by King Boo out of fear and despair around the family members after so much deaths. He is not related because he clearly was never human and he was never alive. He is probably responsible for killing the remaining family members on the mansion.
    - Jarvis was never human, and is probably either one of Van Gore's creations or a dead Ty-Foo (Super Mario 3D World enemy).
    - The Clockwork Soldiers are just toys, this because they are the one (three?) of only two ghosts that have legs, the other one being Spooky, and even then, Spooky only has his front legs, like how the previously human ghosts only have their arms and not their legs. It also does not make sense that they as humans have a wind-up on their back. It is believed that they became ghosts after their original creator died.
    - Ordinary Boos, Boolossus, and King Boo are all just Boos, which are sometimes believed to be dead Mario enemies like Goombas or Koopas, and that would explain why they have an special gripe towards Mario and Luigi, and other times also just believed to be their own independent species. Boolossus is also just 15 Boos merged together.
Because I can, I'll list what I think are the portrait ghosts deaths:
    - Neville: Probably commited auto-elimination after his wife and children died.
    - Lydia: The window in the Master bedroom was broken, so it broke after she was pushed by someone (probably Bogmire) or she jumped herself after her children died.
    - Chauncey: The bio says he was born a ghost, but that can't be since he is also a year old and ghosts don't age, and their age is what it was when they died. Probably died after his parents did not pay attention to him, he had a diseas that was not treated, or he killed himself after he shook the crib way too much. That's why side opening cribs are banned in the USA. They are like a household guillotine.
    - The Floating Whirlindas: Probably an accident while dancing, the were killed by Bogmire, or died in the fire Shivers caused.
    - Shivers: He started a fire that consumed the whole mansion. He carries a candle, and lighting it up frightens him, and it's his weakness. He also sits on a bench with a hole in the center. He probably sat on that same bench and was incinerated by a candle beneath the bench, which caused a fire that might have killed many of the protrait ghosts.
    - Melody: Probably died on the same fire Shivers caused, and that's why she keeps rejecting him when he's in love.
    - Ms. Petunia: Nana poured an bucket full of cold water on her while she was taking a bath. Either died of a cold from that same bucket load or slipped while in the bathtub.
    - Mr. Luggs: He ate himself. He either died of blood loss or ate a vital organ.
    - Spooky: Probably wasn't fed and died of starvation.
    - Bogmire: He was never alive. He was created by King Boo out of the mansion members' fear and despair. Also probably responsible for most of the deaths in the mansion.
    - Madame Clairvoya: Probably killed by either Bogmire or King Boo, since she is the only Portrait Ghost that actively helps Luigi stop King Boo.
    - Biff Atlas: Was hit with a punching bag while lifting a very heavy weight, this causing the weight to fall and crush him. The weight probably broke his ribs and stabbed him in the lungs.
    - Nana: Either natural death due to age, an accident with the knitting needles or Ms. Petunia took revenge upon her after dying.
    - Slim Bankshot: He was a pool player, so maybe he died in a bar fight, since deaths in those are common. Either that or it was the fire or Bogmire killed him.
    - Henry and Orville: They were playing Hide and Seek and never came out of their hiding spot, either because they were trying to win, because they got stuck inside, or because the fire started while they were hiding.
    - Boolossus: It just a bunch of Boos, though they might be all a bunch of dead enemies either Mario or Luigi killed and that's why these 15 Boos are more vengeful than the other 35.
    - Uncle Grimmly: Maybe died during a blackout. He slipped and fell down the stairs or when trying to get to the Breaker Room. Depression could also be a possible cause of death.
    - The Clockwork Soldiers: They are just toys, and might have broken apart when Hery and Orville were playing with them.
    - Jarvis: Was created by Vincent Van Gore, since he is not human, even then, if he died of some sort, it was because he got trapped in a jar. He could also be a dead Ty-Foo.
    - Sue Pea: Died while sleeping. Could've been a heart attack, the fire, or she drowned after water fell on her face, because that's her weakness.
    - Sir Weston: He liked coldness when he was alive, so he probably went into the Cold Storage and got trapped, dying from a cold, from freezing, or hypothermia.
    - Vincent Van Gore: Commited auto-elimination since he was never able to sell any of his paintings while alive for 30 years. Starvation due to poverty could also be a cause if we think that Mr. Luggs ate himself because he ate everything in the mansion and left the others with nothing, therefore, Van Gore starved due to not having any money.
    - King Boo: He is either a normal Boo born as is that went up in the ranks to be the leader of the Boos or was killed by Mario.
Remember that this is just what I believe to be the closest case for all theses ghosts. Also, 'Mario Story', the book Neville reads, is also a reference to Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64, also released in 2001 outside of Japan. 'Mario Story' is Paper Mario's original japanese name.
*EDIT:* Slim Bankshot, Melody and Sir Weston are, now that I think about it, Neville's cousins, because Chauncey has blue hair like two of them. Most probably, Neville's dad was blue-haired, and he had a sibling which was Slim, Melody and Weston's either mother or father, while the other parent was blonde, making Melody's hair blonde too.

23:53 By clicking the triggers down all the way, you can shoot a blast of element. Very useful when fighting Boolossus.

In regards to "E. Gadd repeating lines", I THINK it might be that his SPOKEN dialogue, the weird gibberish he talks in, repeats a set few sound bytes, rather than being unique to each line. To be honest, I could never tell if it was all a sort of garbled nonsense version of what he was actually saying (a la Klonoa) or a few repeated sound bytes, so I'm taking this as an answer to that question.

Great video, I would like to add another entry to the Iceberg since zi always found it funny:
In the Italian boxart, one of the selling points talks about the ghost Ciro (a common italian name), but in the game there is no ghost named Ciro. It is believed that it was a early name for Ombretta (Bogmire's italian name and means Small Shadow) since Bogmire is the ghost shown in the screenshot with that caption.
And I also don't think this mistake was ever fixed even in subsequent reprints of the game, like the Player's Choice edition

The game's development date can be found by analyzing the ROM file. That's how they found out that the japanese version was complete at 3 am. It's the same as when you right click on a file on your computer and it shows you the date it was last edited.

I don’t think E.Gadd watching Luigi is as sinister as it sounds. I believe E.Gadd tracks Luigi’s progress and location throughout the mansion using the Gameboy Horror. It likely has some on board gps system, not to mention there is a map of the mansion programed into the GBH that the player can make use of as well, which just so happens to constantly track Luigi’s position. I believe it is plausible that E.Gadd has access to this information as well. The GBH also tracks things like money and the portrait ghosts Luigi has caught.

59:05 There were people speculating that it was originally for the N64 because there was an unused sound that's the same sound effect as the one that plays when Mario gets a star in Mario 64, and also the Daisy portrait from Mario Tennis 64

Maybe the GBH and the poltergust send signals to E. Gadd's lab, like modern tracking devices, just to keep check on Luigi.

No joke, I literally just finished Chuggaaconroy’s Let’s Play directly before watching this video. So seeing the game in proper HD and not widescreen is so weird to me after being used to the stretched out 480p quality from re-re-re-re-re-watching that Let’s Play since 2012.

1:02:16 I think you misunderstand what “FMV” means, the acronym stands for “Full Motion Video” IE: pre rendered cutscenes, not something that’s being rendered ingame.
