    Hi! Im trying to decide my next tire. Im looking for somethig light and smooth in the city or hard surfaces, with grip even wet or rainy days (specially while cornering). I don't care that much about weight as it is for commute or trips mostly in tarmac or asphalt with some dirt path in good conditions. Can you tell me which woul be the best option (model and width)? Is it faster or lighter as i go thinner tires? Thanks!!!
    PD: when i say "light and smooth" i mean the feeling light while riding, less draggie let's say

      Hi Hugo. Sorry for the late reply! You should consider the CONTACT Urban. This tyre was designed to be as puncture resistant as much heavier tyres, but is only around half the weight. Also, it features a Continental performance rubber compound called PUREGRIP, which can be found in some of the sporty road and MTB tyre performance models. Check out the Continental CONTACT Urban next time - available in many sizes.

      7.5mm. For comparison, the RIDE Tour is 4.5, and the new CONTACT Urban is 2.8mm

    What about the Protection technology on the MTB, i mean what Safety level does it has compared to Contact?

    • @contibicycletyres3628
      @contibicycletyres3628  4 года назад +3

      Hi Nikolai. We don't have a Safety Rating system yet for our MTB tyres, however ProTection would be similar to 6, with the reinforced sidewall 'ProTection Apex' version a 7. The Shieldwall range would be 5. Hope that helps.

    I have 26x1 1/2 what kinda bike or rim this go on ordered to late to return.

    • @contibicycletyres3628
      @contibicycletyres3628  4 года назад

      Hi there. 26 x 1 1/2 is an older imperial measurement relating to the metric size of 42-584. 584 is more commonly referred to as 27.5" or 650b, which is a popular size for modern day mountain bikes.

    What is the detachable tire core on contact urban?

    • @contibicycletyres3628
      @contibicycletyres3628  Год назад +1

      Hi there. Do you mean the added anti-puncture material under the tread? If so, it is a new breaker matrial called SafetyPro. Designed from Nylon textile but unlike the standard Safety System layer in the CONTACT tyres, this one is cross-woven, so more like a textile fibre netting that is simultaneously more robust and flexible. It negates the need for adding extra rubber which is heavy. Maximum puncture protection with minimal added weight. SafetyPro sits above the lightweight SafetySystem (level 4) and rubber EXTRA puncture belt (level 5) in the Continental safety (puncture protection grading) table.

      Ride* tour

    • @contibicycletyres3628
      @contibicycletyres3628  Год назад +1

      Hi there. CONTACT Travel belongs to the CONTACT tyre family which has a different puncture protection system and a different price point than the RIDE family. CONTACTs use a fabric protection called Safety System which saves weight and is lighter. The tread pattern of the CONTACT Travel is also designed for faster rolling on tarmac. The RIDE Tour tread pattern is designed for daily use on a variety of surfaces and provides a very long service life due to its deep tread layer. The CONTACT Travel is designed primarily for long distance adventure touring for road, but can also handle rough tracks when required due to the side lugs.

    • @contibicycletyres3628
      @contibicycletyres3628  11 месяцев назад

      Hi there. That depends on the size of the tyre that you have chosen. The CONTACT Plus comes in a variety of sizes, but for example, if you have the 700x32 (32-622) on your bike, then the max. pressure is 85 psi (5.8 bar). See our data table here - conti-tyres.co.uk/commuting-touring/contact-plus

    Yesterday I bought 2 Ride Tour Continental tires 28x1.75 47-622. They both are made in India. Article 0101159. Declared weight should be 910 g. But my tires weight is 858 g and 898g.

    • @contibicycletyres3628
      @contibicycletyres3628  5 лет назад +4

      Hi Nerijus. Thanks for getting in touch. We do have a weight variation tolerance of up to 10% on our tyres, depending on the model. The Ride Tour does contain lots of rubber in the casing and therefore this is more difficult to get an pinpoint weight.
