    • @DeathTollRacing
      @DeathTollRacing  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think you just need to get creative. I ended up using datsun 510 pedals (15 years ago). You also could just buy a stand alone hydraulic pedal and cut down the pad on the stock brake pedal to match. Wilwood makes them, as do others.

    only part of winning a race is, just keeping the motor running. nothing has to be fast to win, tho letting the other be faster commonly leads to... the 1 inch axles "leg's" brake doing hardly anything, and its funny because the splines on an aam1150 axle are so large that an angle grinder disk can cut new ones, because the base 1_5/8'' 4140 is about $9 a foot. lath weld cut etc. free time nothing else to do... as fas as i know those yukon axles are made of 74ksi chromoly stainless... and to find just like the 8.8 CV axles i bought, their are heat stress "tempered" spots in the worst spot, just so they brake causing larger problems going down the road. most 7018 welding rod is ratted for 84ksi, but blends into 1540 making an upper elastic yield of 105-130ksi. find some salvage ARP rod off an old oil rid going under routine maintenance ... can make a bunch of them and its 30 seconds to change them out. but anyways, that crown vic hasn't had an "N.A." EPA delete until it brakes the 8.8 axles, and i honestly don't know why my old 4.6 needs a 440 gallon per hour fuel pump just to stay running. Prohibition classification, only fuel used is 170 proof hooch or shine. if it's running, no one else is.

    • @DeathTollRacing
      @DeathTollRacing  10 месяцев назад +1

      There's a lot there. Sounds like your pressure regulator on your vic is stuck open. but it may be pulse width depending on the year.

    • @ardennielsen3761
      @ardennielsen3761 10 месяцев назад

      @@DeathTollRacing its a 1994 ford thunderbird with 42lb/hr injectors set to idle at 10psi and 23psi wide open. 440gph at 0psi just holds 150gph that can go in the engine if it boost references to 40psi as "+15psi boost". it gets annoying running a single 255lph pump because they overheat on hot days and air lock themselves. 440gph is a pusher pump for the injector pump. if it was carbureted it wouldn't need all the bs electrickery. ran it up till the O2 sensors read 0.855 mV, broke 5 CV axles on the 8.8

      @@ridiska99 I'm not sure exactly. I've been collecting the parts for this one for 15 years. I think if I hadn't done it that way, I would have been better off trying to get one a barret jackson since the monetary value of them completed would probably be cheaper than paying to build one, or even the parts to. They are starting to show up recently.

    The old gm headliners, you strip off the foam / cloth. Then use cheap fiberglass resin. 3 coats give or take and it will last forever. Scuff it and apply your headliner fabric from Joann fabrics. I've done probably 20 gm full size cars and s10s / blazers that way

    • @DeathTollRacing

      I don’t unfortunately because it’s been a back burner build for 10 years. Love the 302, but the efi and it are not a great combination. I should and may have to carb it. I’m going to take it to a friend to see if he can tune it, but it really hates the low vacuum below 2500 rpm. Love the cda area btw!

    Do you know if the ZF6 changed much after 1996? I have access to i believe an LS style ZF6 from a 2002 vette. Im hoping it still can be utilized on my 96 LT1 motor. Id imagine its the same ls/sbc bellhousing one off bolt?

    • @DeathTollRacing
      @DeathTollRacing  7 месяцев назад

      I’m not certain, but I’d be willing to bet it’s like the late nv4500 on the ls and they just used the old style bell housing. So if that’s the case, it’d be perfect other than the flywheel.

    • @brandonpenner7802
      @brandonpenner7802 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@DeathTollRacingdo you think the stock dual mass flywheel and clutch assembly could be used on the LT1?

    • @DeathTollRacing
      @DeathTollRacing  6 месяцев назад

      @@brandonpenner7802 It should. That's what they came off originally. I don't think that zf6 could have been from a 2002 vette because it would have been a transaxle transmission (rear mounted) in a c5 vette. There was never an LS in a front transmission corvette as far as I know from the factory. If it came from an f-body, I'm fairly certain it was never offered behind an LS, but some of the top end LT cars had them for some reason. What color is your tag on the trans?

    • @brandonpenner7802
      @brandonpenner7802 6 месяцев назад

      @@DeathTollRacingits a blue tag wich i think is the 400ft/lbs rated one, and I definitely agree on it not being from an 02 vette because all I can find for the zr1 2002 vettes are torque tube style rear mounted transmissions. But the transmission im looking at has the usual shifter location for front style setup
